A dry sump oil system would take care of the oil starvation problem. It doesnt allow the oil to slosh around in a pan. They make kits for the EJ motors but you may have to do a little digging to find one for a BRZ. The kits I have seen are around $3400

The 06 4.0liters had a problem with stripping the teeth of the distributor which starved the engine of oil since the oil pump is driven off the distributor gear. You will defintley want a hardtop in the winter. Iv owned a couple of wranglers

You can do it at home. Youll need to find a vacuum line to hook it up too, just make sure it goes directly to the intake manifold and doesn't split off. Also make sure you have a way to control the flow so that you dont hydro-lock your engine. If your uncomfortable doing it then defintley have a dealer do it, its not worth bending a rod

Good maybe it will finally push Subaru to update the STi's powertrain. I wonder if it will have the same problems as the 2.3 they used in the speed3's. Pretty sick numbers for a factory tuned turbo 4 though

Noises can be tricky. Are you sure its coming from the exhaust? The valves might need adjusted or there might be something coming apart in the valve train
