  1. we should try to have our own ORDN bike nights again like we did back in the day at lodge bar and buffalo wings and rings. i always had good times at those.
  2. bump for this weekend. definitely will be there saturday, then heading to ashland in the evening for the flat track races. saw this guy on 71 north this morning, gotta be on his way to mid ohio
  3. do you have a title? if so, slap a headlight, tail light, turn signals and a horn on, and go fill the form out at the DMV, and you're street legal.
  4. Yes was planning on it. Probably at Champs again, but I am open to suggestions.

    Garage security

most of the time, stuff like this is a crime of opportunity. they are there, the garage is there and they break in... they probably won't be back, but you never know... maybe they saw something they really like... make sure your garage area is well lit. motion sensor lighting is good. if there are switched exterior lights, make sure they are on at night. try to reinforce the door frame if you can. they still can probably get through it, but the longer it takes, the better chance of someone seeing them or they get frustrated and give up. +1 on the alarm comments this thing is pretty good too...http://www.harborfreight.com/wireless-driveway-alert-system-93068.html wireless motion sensor. put the sensor in your garage, plug the chime part in your house. make sure to keep the batteries topped up. when it detects motion in the garage, it will alert you inside the house. i have one in my garage, and my neighbor does too. he chased a guy off last summer after it started dinging at 3 am. they haven't been back since... the one thing to keep in mind, if you're working in the garage, and someone is in the house, they are probably going to want it turned off since it will be dinging all the time. just make sure to turn it back on when you're done.
  6. thanks for the bumps guys. we still need riders to help. please contact me or post here if you can help.
  7. nice thing about the 150s is that you can legally park them on the sidewalk provided they do not block it. http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/4511.68v2 (B) A person shall be permitted, without charge or restriction, to stand or park on a sidewalk a motor-driven cycle or motor scooter that has an engine not larger than one hundred and fifty cubic centimeters, or a bicycle, provided that the motor-driven cycle, motor scooter, or bicycle does not impede the normal flow of pedestrian traffic. This division does not authorize any person to operate a vehicle in violation of section 4511.711 of the Revised Code.
  8. ill be there saturday, then up to ashland for the flat track races.
  9. http://www.dispatch.com/content/blogs/best-bike-blog/2014/06/pelotonia-announces-changes-for-the-start-of-the-ride.html new starting points this year. 25/50 mile riders will start from the arena district at 8 am. 100 and 180 mile riders will start from the commons at 7 am. 75 milers will still start from pickerington as they have in the past. if you're interested, definitely let me know. even if you can only do one day or partial day, we can find something for you
  10. E class > C class all day.
  11. yeah the first 20 miles are the slowest, and the most stopping. after that its pretty chill. still some slow and go spots and still some stopping, but honestly the first 20 miles or so are the busiest and slowest. we had a pretty good run after the bob evans stop actually... we did what? 10 or 15 miles without seeing anyone before we caught up to the end of the pack again.
  12. Awesome! You guys were great last year, and I'm glad to have you back this year. Check your email, I sent out an email earlier today with a link to register. If you need it again, let me know
  13. Lots of OR members have helped out with this in the past, and we are looking for help again this year. I many members are riding their bicycles in the ride, which is awesome. We are looking for a few people to help out with escort duties. Basically, what you do is ride along the route and help out anyone who needs assistance. The vast majority of stuff is chains coming off, flat tires, etc. Easy stuff. The route is very similar to last year's although there may be some minor changes. We start downtown (and have some people start in Pickerington too) and the end of the ride on Saturday is at Kenyon College in Gambier, OH (just outside of Mt. Vernon). On Sunday, the ride goes from Kenyon to New Albany. The dates for the event are Saturday August 9, and Sunday August 10. Most of the help will be needed on Saturday, but there is a need for a few people on Sunday too. We start downtown (and have some people start in Pickerington too) on Saturday morning. I think first riders go out around 7:30 AM and the end of the ride on Saturday is at Kenyon College in Gambier, OH (just outside of Mt. Vernon). Saturday night there is a huge party with food and beer! On Sunday, the ride goes from Kenyon and ends in New Albany. In the past, we have made arrangements for dorm rooms in Kenyon if you want to do both days, and we should be able to do that again this year too. We can have someone take your gear up too (pillow, sleeping bag/sheets, toiletries etc) so you don't have to worry about carrying it with you all day. If you can only help out one day, or only a partial day, that's no problem at all. We can find something for you for sure. I know there were some other posts about escort duties in another thread, so I wanted to make this to put it out there, and consolidate the info. If you can't escort, there are other non-riding volunteer opportunities too. We can definitely find something for you if you can't ride. What is required: 1. Have your endorsement, and have your bike registered, plated and insured. 2. Wear at minimum helmet, jacket, gloves. At least a 3/4 helmet. No novelty german war helmets. This is requested by Pelotonia. Escorting is all about safety. 3. No super loud bikes at low speeds. No straight pipes etc. We don't want you scaring riders, or making them deaf. 4. No turkeys. We have a limited number of yellow vests that you can wear so you can be identified as an escort. I am working on trying to get more. I am also working on getting tubes, tire levers, pumps and maybe some basic tools and stuff. If you don't know how to change a bicycle tire, I can teach you. It's super easy. I've gotten quite good at it after doing this for a few years. Post up here or PM me if you want to participate, or if you have any questions at all, and I can get you registered. You can also email me at pelotoniamoto@gmail.com any time!
  14. heyyyyy i just saw this now. yes i am running it again. yes, we would love to have everyone back who did it last year. i was actually just about to send out an email from the pelotoniamoto account to put out a feeler. you can email me at pelotoniamoto@gmail.com for a quicker response... sorry i didnt get with you guys earlier. ill make a separate moto escort post on here too after lunch.
  15. sorry, i was not replying directly to you, i was replying to bad about his post that he didnt like the 30 day/30 posts rule. i dont think your bike is crap. i love that year gsxr, and while the strech aint really my thing, it still looks like a clean bike. but i think this is a good reason WHY that rule needs to be in place. you are absolutely welcome to be a member of the community here. if you've been around for a while, you would realize that there is a lot of ball busting that goes on here, but its nothing to take personally.
  16. I think there are a few reasons... One, this isnt craigslist. There are tons of free for sale sites, but thats not what forums want to be. They want to be a community, not just a site to hock your crap. Also I think it helps keeps the scammers and spammers out a bit.
  17. lol at the guy throwing a roll of paper towels... THATLL STOP HIM!!!! i need to get some street tires for my pit bike so i can go stunt the streets.
  18. i love ohio. lake erie and the islands, hocking hills, lake hope, cedar point, skyline chili, OSU, USAF museum, cleveland metroparks and the zoo, cuyahoga valley natl park, north market, mid ohio, i could go on and on. haters gonna hate i guess. oh well.. sucks to be you lol.
  19. not to mention florida is the reverse dragon's tail... 11 curves in 318 miles...
  20. i grew up in new albany before it blew up to what it is now. they are definitely better than they used to be, thats for sure. nowadays they aren't arresting people who file complaints and taking them downtown, or giving drunk gahanna officers rides home instead of rides to jail... both of which happened about 10 years ago or so. the girl they arrested for "filing a false complaint" ended up suing after the dash cam corroborated her story. i forget what happened with the guy who gave the drunk a ride home.. i think he ended up resigning lol. back when i was in HS it was bad. pretty much like new rome junior. god forbid you drive through town after 10 pm. they would ride your ass so close you couldn't even see their headlights or they would flash their headlights at you to try and get you to speed up.
  21. the thing i dont like about the modulator, is that flashing a headlight means "go ahead". so the car is pulling out of a parking lot or wahtever, sees the flashing light, thinks youre saying go ahead, and pulls right out in front of you... the exact situation you were trying to avoid.
