  1. yup, that has been my experience as well. ive gone for many years. got some good deals in the past, but its kinda gone downhill recently. if you want to sit in traffic, wade through a sea of mountain williams, and pay high retail for rusty junk, then it's the place to be
  2. you know that the gateway drug theory has been largely discredited right? not to mention, post hoc ergo propter hoc... saying A occurred, then B occurred, therefore A caused B is a fallacy. its easy to see how silly this really is, and why it's a fallacy... 99% of herioin users drank milk when they were a child... therefore drinking milk leads to heroin use. makes sense right? correlation does not equal causation.
  3. lol yeah, if voting actually changed anything, it would have been made illegal years ago.
  4. wow a pissy facebook post. YOU SURE SHOWED THEM!!!!1 they call me all the time too, but i never cry about it. maybe you're just cranky bc they woke up you from your nappy nap? poor baby :'(

  8. thats what you get for eating mcdonalds. there is something patently wrong with food that makes you take a dump 15 minutes after you eat it.
  9. wow. michael jones sure looks a lot different in his police mugshot. good job worldnet daily. they sure are a bastion of journalistic integrity! did they just grab a pic of a random black dude or did he somehow become a white guy when the police arrested him? im surprised they didn't just google MIKE JONES and use this photo:
  10. drive around southeast michigan for a while. our roads are smooth as glass compared to theirs.
  11. i have a CRG hindsight round bar end on one of my bikes. it's kind of a spendy piece, but its very high quality. it does not vibrate or move around at all. good stuff.
  12. lol what was his excuse? you know, a lot of them don't like dash cams. makes it hard to illegally search them or plant evidence when you're on cam.
  13. oh god not reefer! my cousin was addicted to marijuana and was sharing marijuana needles, when he took 3 marijuanas and ODed! thank god the police got this dangerous marijuana addict off the streets!
  14. if you aint mixin gas, you aint haulin ass! cool looking bike.
  15. the thing i dont really understand is how everyone seems to think we are going to get crushed by cars changing lanes... you'd only really be splitting when traffic is at a dead stop or a crawl, and in scenarios like that, people are not going to be just randomly changing lanes, because there is no where for them to go. there isnt room for them to just whip over into another lane. if you do get up to a wide open space, you dont stay on the white line, you take the lane, and your chance of someone coming over is just the same as it is righ tnow. people seem to think that lane splitting means going 75 between cars going 65. thats not it at all, thats just riding like an idiot. you arent going to be lane splitting (legally) at speeds over maybe 25 mph, and you arent going to be going more than 5-10 mph over the speed of the traffic. so if traffic is at a dead stop, you are going to be going 10mph max. this is slow enough to give you ample time to react. you will see someone changing lanes well ahead of time. if there's a wide open spot, then you just proceed carefully... its not that hard. once traffic starts moving about 25-35mph, you dont split any more you just hop in line. just look at how many cars are herky jerky switching lanes in stand still traffic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXsLaSMFJSg
  16. links showing that 30% would be swell, links showing me the rest of the world? (I couldn't find it) it's from the US DOT FARS database. http://www-fars.nhtsa.dot.gov/Main/index.aspx For MC: California: 6.0 rear-end fatalities/billion miles ridden on the highwayFlorida: 9.0 rear-end fatalities/billion miles ridden on the highwayTexas: 9.4 rear-end fatalities/billion miles ridden on the highway compare that to percent of fatalities resulting from vehicles rear ending passenger cars California: 11.0%Florida: 9.7%Texas: 11.6% and fatalities for FRONT impacts: California: 49.4 fatalities/billion miles riddenFlorida: 48.7 fatalities/billion miles riddenTexas: 51.5 fatalities/billion miles ridden so california drivers are rear ending cars and killing occupants at similar levels to other states... but are not rear ending motorcyclists nearly as much. riders are fatally crashing into things in front of them at similar levels to other states, but they are not getting rear ended at similar levels. are riders in cali more visible than other states? are the roads safer? it raises lots of questions. this could suggest that lane sharing has a POSITIVE impact on preventing rear end fatalities, but not really a measurable effect on TOTAL fatalities. edit: not hurt report... US DOT FARS. my bad yo.
  17. are you 100% sure the jets are clean? not only the jets, but all the passages too. did you remove the pilots and could you see light through them?
  18. the law already says that. it is illegal to open your door into moving traffic until it is reasonably safe to do so. you see this from time to time when someone parallel parks, does not look, and swings their door open and it gets taken off by a car coming down the street. the person who opened the door is at fault and can be cited.
  19. would you say that in the same conditions it wouldnt matter if youre drunk either? i guess my contention is that you do not have a level of prescience to KNOW that nothing is going to happen. when you are driving, things can happen in an instant, and you need to be paying attention. even if youre out in the middle of the boonies. someone could pull out of a hidden driveway or a cross street, an animal could run into the road, that lone car coming the other direction could cross the center line. any number of things could happen. you just CANT know that nothing is going to happen. you can text a thousand times while driving and have nothing happen to you. you can drive drunk 1000 times and get home fine too. that doesn't make it okay. all it takes is one time.
  20. people who are texting and driving have been shown to be just as impaired, if not more, than drunk drivers. you're right it does not affect brain chemistry. i figured it would be clear thats not but what i meant, but i guess not... or we are just arguing semantics : texting while driving severely impacts your reaction time. in some cases the reaction time is WORSE than that of a drunk driver.
  21. texting and driving is just as bad as drunk driving, and should be treated as such.
  22. i think the biggest benefit here is that if you can make an unopposed left getting on the freeway. the way it is now, if youre coming westbound on roberts and want to go south on 270 (or eastbound on roberts and want to go north on 270) you have to turn left across oncoming traffic. when traffic gets heavy it gets backed up because everyone has to wait for the light (or because douchebags enter the intersection when they have nowhere to go and end up blocking any left turns). with the new design, you only have to wait for the one light at either end of the bridge, then you can just cruise and make a left onto the freeway without any oncoming traffic. it's not too complex to drive through either. you dont even really notice youre on the other side of the road
  23. you get a lot better grip on the actual track, and not in the grass
  24. Ive never been to a drag strip on a bike but its definitely something ive wanted to try. Id be interested in a track rental day :-)
