I had looked for a 3rd-row Tahoe for months. Never quite found what I wanted. Settled on a 2-row. Did a lot of reading, and people were 50/50 whether you could easily/safely add a 3rd row.
Pulling up the rear carpet showed this:

I got mint, color-correct leather seats for $200 from CL. The kit was just over $100. Well worth it. If any of you are searching for a 3rd-row vehicle, this may be an option.
I also scored a rear carpeted mat, so when the seats are out, I can put the mat in, covering the brackets. Looks nice and completes the clean install. Kids won't ram their knees into the brackets either.
