  1. Reserving this spot for my wife to share her experience with it.
  2. Bad mood? Trying to scare you? Don't remember reading anywhere that a cop had to be polite to you. Don't do shit to get pulled over in the first place?

    gto fun

Off topic kind of, but here's another blue 04 w/ a 6-speed and some mods for cheaper. http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1841640045.html
  4. OP, have you personally ever held warped rotors in your own hands? Hundreds of times? Visually inspected them with your own eyes? That had every imaginable pad material? From tons of different manufacturers? Have you personally ever machined a rotor? Hundreds of times? Have you personally went to school for this topic? Even looked at an ASE test? Nobody is arguing that pads can't cause a "warped" feel. We all get that. But, your refusal to accept a known cause of warping is, well, hard-headed. It's obvious you enjoy a good debate, and that's cool, but again, I'll stick to the idea that a combined 100? 125? 150? years of actual real-world auto repair > you reading on the internet.
  5. Congrats man. This reminded me of when I was 16, first time ever down a track, I missed time trials so I had to guess at a time. I dialed in a 14.50. I ran a 14.50 with a perfect .500 light.
  6. There really isn't any debate to be had. If you had said, "brake material can cause havoc on rotors", I would have agreed. But, to say, "rotors don't bend from getting too hot" is 100% wrong. Sorry. EDIT: I guess I'll throw my sources out too... ASE books and working as a mechanic for 10 years at a family shop where my Dad performed 10,000's of break jobs and I performed 500+. And after you have personally watched a couple hundred warped rotors spinning on a lathe, there is little doubt that the rotors themselves are warping.
  7. You're pretty wrong here, man. I'm not saying bad pads can't cause a lot of problems. But, rotors do indeed, warp from heat.
  8. Cool, still a fair deal. I thought there for a second I could get all 4 turned for $20. Can you check them prior to turning them and only charge if they need turned?
  9. $10 a side or per rotor? The Ram developed a braking shimmy and I replaced all 4 last year.
  10. $11,000? Ouch. At least it's a 6-speed. But, I hope they have a lot of wiggle room built into that price.

  19. Yes. Her son was into motocross for years and years. Small world.
  20. I doubt anyone else will know this woman, but Verna Sims passed away last night from her battle with cancer. Verna was the forever-wife of the man who worked with my dad until dad closed his shop a couple months ago. She was very much the car-guy's wife, grandma type. I can honestly say that in the 1000 times I saw her, she was not smiling 0 times. Her husband owned a service station for decades then worked for my dad's place for another decade. Her son was heavy into the car show scene for years. Just another great, car-chick lost to cancer. RIP.
  21. I think I read it on here... cheapo can of coffee poured out in a shallow pan with an orange cut up on top, laid out in the car for a day.
