Tom, I have no beef with you. Here is my point, put another way. A dealership repair will almost ALWAYS cost a person more money than a smaller garage; often, much more. I have seen enough cases - with my own eyes - to say without a hesitation, that many dealerships rip people off with unneeded repairs. I hope you are the exception, and work at an honest shop. And yes, I am sure there are dishonest family-owned shops too. Where do you work? EDIT - I turn every wrench by myself on every one of our cars, unless it is under warranty.
