Keep looking your bound to find a 1g AWD 3in exhaust for less than 500. When you do it will be far less expensive to go that route than a cutout. Cutout's are cool and all but you can always finda cheaper deal with an exhaust. If this isnt your daily you can always take it to a muffler shop or someone who's a competant welder and fab up a side exit exhaust. cut off the rest but leave the muffler and the tip out the back. This would definitly be the cheapest route.

I thought about it but going from a 4 cylinder Jetta to the Eclipse was a big leap. I think since I picked it up a month ago I've driven it 3-4 times. As for plans, I probably wont mod it for a while. Most likely until its paid off. I've given some thought as to what I might do. Maybe a simple 14b setup with a large sidemount and a 50shot for shits and giggles. Im not looking for huge numbers or crazy ET's, really just glorified stock something to give a bit more 'pep'. Oh and I should say its really all relative. To the 19 y/o kid who spend 5grand he doesnt really have to dump into his DSM, Mustang, Camaro, etc... To the 35y/o professional who drops 25grand into his vette. Its not about the actual money its about the fact that your 'investing' in something that will give absolutly no return other than a "speed fix".

Ok, after reading the "how much do you have in your car" thread I have to ask. Doesnt anyone ever regret it? For all the thousand's and thousand's of dollars spent doesnt anyone ever realize that "hey I could've saved that money bought a house, or invested in my retirement, or saved for my kids college education, etc..."??? I mean we can all admit that this hobby is an expensive one. But hell I use to think Hockey was an expensive hobby to get into its nothing compared to this. Reason why I ask is because after a while of not having a car that was worth modifying I picked up a car that was. The first question I had from people was, "what are you going to do to it" NOTHING, Im keeping the damn thing stock. I bought this car because I've always loved the body style and always wanted this car. I dont know I guess I just cant see myself spending 10 grand on something that Im not really going to benefit from in the long run. Maybe Im just getting old?

Dont get a loan for a $5k car. Save up as much as possible. You have a decent job and Im assuming still live at home so you should at least be able to do that much. Just understand that you have to approach this as a fiscal problem and not an emotional one. Unfortunatly people buy cars on emotion. Buying a car is a big investment (I never said it was a GOOD investment) of your money and you definitly shouldn't let emotion's get involved no matter how sexy that *insert car here* is. There will be a time and place for it eventually but right now probably isnt the smartest thing in the world. God i wish someone had told me this when I was 19.

There are much better option's out there that buying a 15k$ car. Hell if you wanted an autocross car you could easily pick up a miata (dont laugh) for cheap, a thousand in mods and you could easily drive it daily and autocross it. Obviously this wouldn't be the best car in shitty weather but despite living in Ohio you dont have to deal with shitty weather as much as other places.

FIXED I hate going to big shows like this. You never get to see the band you like, at least not like you would in a private venu. They dont play big sets, maybe a few songs. Its usually hot, your usually drunk and EVERYTHING is fucking expensive.
