  1. I'm not surprised at all. I live on the NW side and there are litteraly 12+ bars within 5 miles from my place.
  2. My old roomate got a DUI (or omvi, whichever) and from what i understand the worse thing you can do is blow. It will give the state evidence to use against you later on in trial and believe it or not it is your right NOT to blow, you will get arrested for it, but it will be a lesser charge. Again im not an expert this is just from what i've learned from my roomate's experience. However all of this is besides the point. Your girl probably thought she was ok and decided to blow. I would STRONGLY suggest you get a lawyer. There is nothing worse, besides a felony, that looks as bad on your record like a DUI/OMVI. Try not to look at it as a money thing, put it on your credit card if you have to borrow money from your folks do whatever it takes. look at it as saving her record, trust me employer's look at shit like this all the time and if it pops up, its a black mark. Goodluck man.
  3. i was waiting for it. You could deliver pizza's. The grinder's off hard and smokey pays their driver something crazy like 12/hour plus tips. If i didnt already have two jobs i'd consider it.
  4. I'm almost positive i read in ORC that the officer who issued the citation must be present. The officer there is only there as witness and evidence if that isn't the same officer then said witness/evidence isn't admissable. However i see your point that the first hearing really isn't trial, its just a hearing so no evidence is being brought forth, just dates being set and possible deals being made. if you have proof of your point id really like to see it to know what im up against.
  5. Ive always had the understanding that you can't lose anything or gain more violations by going to court (only earn court costs in the process). I would doubt the judge can actually give you a violation from behind his lecturn, he wasn't at the scene he doesn't know the situation. We would be there to discuss and argue charges that were accrued before hand, not to see if he can hand out more that would be the prosecutors job and i dont think he can either. Regardless, im going to court on friday the 1st to try and plea it down to AT LEAST a state speed + court costs, no points. If they won't agree, we'll set a trial date and i'll get my evidence together, if i decide not to argue it, i'll just change my plea. This country is great for a reason, just b/c some gung ho statey says i was speeding doesnt mean im guilty, we're all given a chance to defend ourselves, gotta love that.
  6. "dont call me radio" litteringand....
  7. wow, congrats. my Nephew is up to my waste now, 4 years old. crazy, i remember when he was born, seems like it was just last year.
  8. Did you happen to hit any small children while crossing the school zone? btw, sorry to hear about that Rotarded. He's a mexican, he can blend in to any one of the hundreds of hives around columbus. they probably dont even have a real name.
  9. You got a seatbelt ticket? aren't those like 80$? I would call the number provided on the ticket. Ask them.
  10. Taken from ORC: Sorry, your wrong. Two officer's can work in tandem to give a speeding ticket, and the officer who witnessed the act does NOT have to give the actual ticket. Trust me this is most likely the exactly what just happened to me. Now when i take it to court, both officer's will have to be present in court. Thanks for trying to help though.
  11. Can you cite where you saw this? i could definitly use this as well. Had i been going 55 in the lane i was traveling, i would've/could've been pulled over for disturbing the flow of traffic.
  12. I think it's unrealistic to drive the speed limit, or even 5 over. I made a concentrated effort to drive 65 on 270 on my way to work today. mind you the speed limit is 55. and i was being passed by everyone. It's just unrealistic and unfeasable to NOT speed. I'm usually smart on how much i speed, where and at what time (ie: if im the only car on the road) and its worked for me ever since i got my license. The few times i have gotten a ticket, ive either been distracted or the officer was hidden (behind a wall, twice now). That accounts for all 3 of my tickets in the 7 years ive been driving. I know some guys who get tickets every 6 months, and a good friend who got something crazy like 12 in a year.
  13. "or by any electrical or mechanical timing device" i think laser might be considered under this. And to answer Turbs post. Above,"or has received a radio message from the officer who observed the speed of the motor vehicle recorded by the radio microwaves, electrical or mechanical timing device." You may have gotten alot of tickets but that doesnt neccessarily mean yo9ur an expert at them. ORC says your wrong and im going with what they say. Thanks for your help. Yes there is always the chance of not speeding but to be honest, it won't happen. And anyone who wants to preach to me that it is the only true way to avoid a ticket, i dont care. We all know ALL of us speed and its not going to stop now. Does anyone know for sure if this would carry points or at least how i can find out if it does? if it doesnt i may just eat it, if it does. I'm going to fight it. and i hate the fucking song with a passion.
  14. He said nothing about Wreckless Op. and didn't make any referance to it on teh ticket either. i wasn't swerving at all. I did get a another speeding ticket south of cleveland (i think ashland county?) but he didnt say anything about that either, or make note of it on the ticket. usually if its your second ticket in a year its a mandatory appearance, again nothing was said or noted on the ticket. That was 4-5 months ago. Previous to that i hadn't gotten one for 2 years.
  15. 78 in a 55. 270 Eastbound between 23 and 71. Driving my happy ass to work around noon in the fast lane traffic up ahead seems to be coming to a stop for no apparent reason. The Subaru in front of me (at least 20+ car lengths) starts to come to a stop in the lane im in (far left) and starts steering towards the wall. as i approach the car rapidly decelerating i see a person standing in the lane, it was a motorcylce cop ordering me to pull over behind the subaru he approach's my car to say i was doing 78/55 and to get my license and registration ready. He deals with the other guy then takes my info, he's gone and returned in less than 5 min. giving me my ticket saying he didn't cite that it was a construction zone but did say that the speed limit was 55. My complaint? How in the hell did he get an accurate (laser) reading on me while im decelerating in the fast lane. By time i actually saw him i was doing well below 55. He didn't say or write that it was VASCAR or Air, just Laser. If there was another officer on the bridge of 23, the position in which you operate your radar and/or laser gun cannot exceed 45degrees. If i knew the range on the particular equipment used i could argue the officer didn't have the time and/or distance to get an accurate and lawful reading of my vehicles speed. My argument? He (and/or other officer) didn't get an accurate reading on my speed. His equipment may not be calibrated. (long shot) Both officer's must show at the court date. (thanks Ben) So, what would you do? eat the 150$ or fight it and end up maybe paying a fine and court costs? Mind you this is 20+, doesnt that mean points?
  16. I Got one today, 270 East bound between 23 and 71. late for work, 78 in a 55. He said he marked it down as only a 55mph zone and not a construction zone, so am i to assume that i dont have to pay double, that's what he was communicating to me. What i can't figure out is, he pulled over one other vehicle besides myself. i didn't even see the cop until he was literally standing in the fast lane in front of the vehicle in front of me. How is he going to monitor two different peole when the first was more than 20 car length's ahead of me? I've never fought a ticket before but i think i will for this one. maybe he won't show up, maybe his gun wasn't calibrated that day/shift.

whats the point of putting vinyl on your tail lights and headlights?
  18. I made it to a face to face interview then got a letter shortly there after. My ex use to work there, it's legitimate and fairly decent paying job that's easy. She had years of customer service experience that helped her land the gig.
  19. Am i the only person who's never heard of using a car in your senior pic? isn't it suppose to be a pic of... well... you?
  20. I was the same exact way. Right out of HS i got a decent job at a warehouse making 11-12$ hour and going to Cols State part time. As the month's wore on i became less and less interested in going to school so i stoped. i was at that warehouse job for 3+ years making 15$/hour when the unthinkable occured and i found myself jobless over some union/company BS. At that time i realized i had been out of HS for almost 4 years and had no education and no skill set to show for all that i worked for. It was a blessing in disguise. Fast Forward a year and a half to today and im working in an easy office buisness environment, making slightly more than i was after i left the warehouse. Knowing the right people in the right places and having good standing relationships with all of them got me this far i suspect it will get me further in life but at some point in time if i expect to stay in this field i will need a degree. im looking at going back in the fall/winter quarter's to CS. Even if it is just an assoc. degree in buisness admin. it will look better than nothing. In my years working at the Kroger Warehouse i saw people come and go who couldn't cut it. Most were young like me, just had or was expecting a baby(<unlike me). I felt somewhat better than them when they couldn't hack it and ended up quitting or getting fired. the other's were old dogs who jumped from one shitty warehouse job to the next for most of their lives. i was determined to not follow in their footsteps. never again. On a side note: is anyone here attending Columbus State with plans on transferring to OSU? i've heard that this isn't possible anymore because of scheduling conflict's/ switching from quarter's to semester's.

    Audi r8

That's the only part of the car i didn't like too much. For such an expensive car i'd want painted bumpers.
  23. I know a bunch of people that shop at Dr. MOJO, they have alot of really nice stuff but it's all crazy expensive, i don't seem to keep jeans more than 6 month's so i can't really justify spending 200$ on a pair. I usually shop at Filene's Basement, all namebrand stuff, mostly casual wear, Polo, Crew, Calvin Klein, Nautica, etc... none of their stuff is expensive $40 for a buttonup, $30 for a polo etc, and theres nothing difective about their stuff, something i've come to notice alot in at places like TJ Maxx, its just on sale. But for some reason i can only buy jeans at AE, they last the longest, look the best (on me), and are cheap. Shorts = polo or nautica
  24. How so? i've used my phone insurance before when i was with sprint (years ago) and they actually upgraded me b/c they no longer produced the phone that i was using.
  25. Exactly what i was going to say. With verizon they have a "new every 2 (years)" deal. Just like it says, new phone at the same discounted rate as a new subscriber every two years. So really, they are trying to take care of their current customer's with the same discounts they give new customers.
