Nice.. the 223 Wylde shoots well. Two people on here have the same chambering in a 24" barrel and no real issues out to 800yards
I havent played with the 1-4pst's although I kinda want one. what a surprise right
it's 20" and it was 847 yards you tool

We regulars talk about guns so the members with actual knowledge of firearms have something to laugh about.
rep for that!

I dont really care about rack size since Im in it for the meat.
Did anyone else catch that? Please note there was no creative editing here.

Mags are not illegal. Its illegal to actually load them over 30.
Specs?
No, the mags aren't illegal. It's inserting the mag into a semi-auto gun that makes it an "automatic weapon" per ORC.
ORC 2923.11 "“Automatic firearm” means any firearm designed or specially adapted to fire a succession of cartridges with a single function of the trigger. “Automatic firearm” also means any semi-automatic firearm designed or specially adapted to fire more than thirty-one cartridges without reloading, other than a firearm chambering only .22 caliber short, long, or long-rifle cartridges."
Insert 40rd AK mag into AK, its now been adapted to fire more than 31 rds regardless of how many you load. The law says adapted not capable.

There should be a Zombie Bill which overrules the tax stamp requirement for the over 30 rounds without reloading bull.
While no one actually cares what you think, yes having the definition of a destructive device or machine gun be based upon magazine capacity is dumb.
-
Pics? Either or. Man I must of missed that law. A drum mag is not allowed in a AR???
Any firearm capable of firing more than 31 rounds without reloading is a no no in ohio without a tax stamp (technically a MG tax stamp, but an sbr was a gray area that now has some case law supporting it).
-
I'd pull that pic down as that drum mag isn't legal in that gun without a tax stamp.

Wow. I remember George from when he used to post on TFL 10-14 years ago.

Verizon 4G in Akron, 21m down, 14m up has been the best I've gotten.

i'll tell you what, if you can score higher then me prone at 100 yards with any .223 rifle you own through iron sights, with no optics like my SL8-1, lets say 10 rounds with 5 to sight in, so a total of 15 rounds we shoot, i'll give you the hk for $500. if you cant, i get whatever gun your shooting for $500.....
if not, then goodluck to you, and my h&K is fairly priced where i have it set at.
I'm still waiting on him to take me up on the $1000 bet with his AK that can outshoot any AR-15 out there. I wouldn't hold your breathe.

Credit for that goes to Dave's wife Erin. She did all the details. I am going to do a talk next year on Dave. I am thinking 'Dave the formative years, or how I found the FBI knocking on my door one day'.
I'm going to have to get together with you and get any embarrassing photos or video you have. We can only catch him doing dumb stuff at work so often, so historical things for our presentations would be awesome.

Yea, that was very cool. I will admit for the first few minutes I had no idea who you two were. But it came to me pretty quickly. There was one guy there from the 99'ers too, although I have left that group as did he.
Yea after the fact I figured I probably should've given you my screenname.
I'm still simply amazed at how smoothly everything went for a first year event, made our lives as staff much easier. I'm already looking forward to next year. I'm thinking about giving a talk on Applied Ballistics for the Zombie Apocalypse

You just bought that shit from Hak5 because the chick at the booth was a hottie in a sea of nerds, admit it.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the range owner, I was supposed to several days ago and I've been too busy to continue playing phone tag. Let's just go ahead and call this off. Perhaps we try again in the spring.

I have a feeling the kids are exaggerating the situation with the father to try and deflect the fact that they were messing around without clothes on and it's all over the news.
I concur.

I am still in for the 25th. If the issue is needing more people, I can get another 2 more people. Or was the range just double booked?
Plan B, is there another place that we can all get together and shoot if TVP already booked?
Double booked. I've been busy and so has Tom @ TVP, so its been phone tag. I have a feeling (hope) that the conflicting event isn't going to pan out anyway.

As much fun as that sounds like, driving 1.5 hours and paying to shoot my 1911 just isn't quite as awesome as walking out the back door and shooting for free. Maybe next time, thanks for the heads up.
I highly doubt you have a 5-7 stage action pistol course setup in your backyard, but have fun.
For the rest of you, Briar Rabbit puts on a hell of a good pistol shoot.

FYI guys. We might have a scheduling conflict with TVP. I'll be speaking with Tom tonight, but we may need to push the date back a week.

Should have ordered an AX while you still can.
Was contemplating a 300BLK myself for some quiet duty fun.
Still need to get a Chargemaster and TBAC 30P-1 first.
Mark told me to get a McCree, but I don't care for them that much. I'd consider an AX but I didn't think they were all that readily available, plus they retail for a good 400-500 more than the AICS 2.0. If I find myself unhappy with the AICS, I'll probably try the XLR, KWM stock or AX next.
-
Just put a new AI stock on order for the .308 and I just might have something quiet in 300 BLK by the time of the shoot.

There is another company as well that has been making them for awhile. Ill see if i can find the link.
I think there are 3 total now, but I could be mistaken. Sarver was talking about getting one in 300 Hulk for shits n grins.

Shoot some FMJ, see how it functions, then try the HP's. If it fails, polish the feed ramp carefully and try HP again. If it still fails, send back to ruger. In the meantime, use Corbon Pow'r Ball ammo.

I may be interested, depends on how my Friday evening looks and if I want to put the wear on the tire (waiting on a new one).

They are a pretty sturdy. I might not go into combat with em on the gun, but for range use/3gun type stuff they are fine.
