  1. Nice meeting you guys today - thanks for letting me tag along for a while. I was wearing a Synergy heated jacket and gloves so the cold wasn't an issue - but I had to get back early anyway, so split off from the group in Scio and headed up the 'other' part of 646. See you all again soon. (I was beginning to wonder if Nivin had changed his mind about riding when he was hiding in the [warm cozy] Dairy Queen)
  2. Agreed. Even MTS owners admit it. I admire Pauly's muscle control to be able to suppress the gag reflex each time he walks up to his bike. Perhaps the trick is to always approach from the rear. However, it is sensational to ride and obviously therefore worth the pain. The new model is nice looking and I would buy one, but now they screwed with the engine and put a 4 valve in it...
  3. Casper, just a thought - Amazon will give you a $176 gift card for that phone if you prefer to go that route:- http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/s/ref=tradeinavs?url=rh%3Dn%3A2226766011%26i%3Delectronics-tradein&field-keywords=iphone+3gs&Go.x=0&Go.y=0 I've done this before with iPods and old iPhones and they came through as advertised.

    DucRX... WHOO!

Not if Lucifer has the O'Leans too you won't....
  5. Kent, sorry to hear about your accident. Glad you're okay though, and that the bike is repairable.

    DucRX... WHOO!

He keeps my '99 Supersport humming along like a youngster. I recommend Paul for all your service needs, from a tire change to a full service - the man knows his stuff and has great attitude.
  7. Pauly (isaacs papa) may chime in. He plotted a ultra twisty route all the way down a few weeks ago. Pretty much all out fun ride, back roads only and totally exhausting. If you PM him and beg, he might cough it up...
  8. Great work Ninjadoc. I didn't come to the ride but I applaud you for putting this ride together and getting such a large turnout.
  9. Speedytriple, Kermit's farewell is the main reason I'm making the long trip to Bolivar for this ride. If you are wavering now, I may have to rethink...
  10. I just turned the wheels yesterday afternoon and found the other side of the tire was a bit used up too. Definitely thinking of getting some new rubber soon...
  11. This could be historic - Kermit's swan song, and if Pauly promises to stay away it will be even better. Cannot take another minute of being humbled by them bloody O'Leans.
  12. Cool, this is going to be like having Sturgis at my local Dairy Queen. Except with fewer tractors and more motorbikes. I think I'll be there even if just to see the spectacle!
  13. 36 front and 38 rear.. Actually a little higher than I have used with other tires but those pressures seem to suit the Conti-Motions.
  14. I should have put on a new rear on Friday' date=' but I'm a cheap bastard and rode it a while longer... [img']http://ohioriders.net/picture.php?albumid=1355&pictureid=14513 There's plenty of rubber left on the edges - I could probably squeeze another few SEO rides out of it, what do you think?
  15. Those Fontana bears are probably a bit quick for you guys anyway, guns or none. (I admit I did go crying like a little schoolgirl to you blokes in the OR vehicle when I came across a bear strolling around at Fontana Village... It wasn't so much your firearms but being inside a nice safe automobile that stopped me pants from getting messed.)
  16. Hey, you should write your congressman about me and tell him we want our colony back.. And the legend continues..... ... Got home tonight with cords showing on the rear tire. That is one Contimotion - done!
  17. Nice to meet all you guys down there. (except Likwid of course) The Friday and Saturday rides were fun. I have an achey breaky body right now, but am looking forward to the next gap trip.
  18. Why doesn't it surprise me that your garage is perfect Terry?
  19. Definitely felt it here in Bolivar.
  20. When I had my inspection the inspector did not even look at my receipts. All he did was compare the VIN on the frame and the engine with the salvage title, then bingo - rebuilt title.
  21. I'm very sorry to hear this. Mark was a really nice bloke. He rode with us on the New River Gorge ride in 2009. Mark, far left.
  22. I agree that a Salvage/Rebuilt title compromises the resale value and therefore is not a good idea for making a profit. However, if you want to buy a bike to ride, and you know what to look for, it's a good option. As stated before, often much of an insurance estimate on a sportbike will go on cosmetic issues. e.g. My Ducati swingarm got scratched on the edge during my crash - more of a scuff really. That added over $2000 to the estimate.. Plastics... forget about it - very expensive to replace - often easy to repair.
  23. My Ducati is a rebuilt title. I bought the bike with a clear title, totaled it after a few years, bought the 'wreck' back from the insurance company for peanuts, paid < $2000 to rebuild it, had it inspected and retitled and have ridden it happily for the last 7 years. I actually made enough on the deal to fund 80% of a brand new 2003 CBR600RR to ride for the period the Ducati was being rebuilt.
  24. Quite true, and consequently the bike spent more time sliding into ponds and off hillsides than it did on it's wheels! Tough little b'stard though, that DR.
