  1. Welcome my fellow Brit and fellow Gooner.

I'm getting a feeling we have a different kind of reds fan amongst us.

    Booooo Liverpool

Gooners are the most loveable of the enemy, I'll admit.. but the enemy nevertheless. I'm a displaced Brit myself, funny that we should all meet up on 'Give Us Our Bloody Country Back You Thieving Yanks' day.

    See you guys round..

  2. Like Bam Bam said I rode with shrek. He still looked a bit unsure on the bike? he has not rode much since the get off last season. He seems like he might get back there soon? I need a new rear tire and fluids changed for now. Brakes need some work also. Will be soon, maybe in july and I will be back riding I hope.

Well, I'm pretty deluded - I thought Shrek was the name of your bike. It seems there is an Ohiorider called Shrek too. Which is the real Shrek in this topic? And what was the get-off - I was out of the loop last year when you were riding the CBR.

Either way it's looking promising. All those 'little things' like brakes and tires, hah - they are kind of important, so don't rush it mate: safety first.

  3. Just wondering how often am I gonna see a gas stations

..near 536, there is a gas station on OH-7 just outside of Hannibal on the southern end of 536.

There is also one in Clarington, on the intersection of OH-7 and 78.

Beallsville has one across from the Convenient food mart, but I've never seen it open...

Barnesville has a couple, as does Woodsfield.

  4. Hey Mike, you rode!! This is looking promising. Any chance you might be able to get Shrek back to his former SEOhio-storming glory and ride with us again? Fox Racing Guy has been filling in for you providing the splash of eye boiling green in the group. But there's no substitute for the triple.

Thanks for the text.. glad you got out.

  5. 93 is pretty good road, what part were you riding on? It may not be the twistiest road but beats slab anyday. Next time take 93 back up to 212 that is a ok section. Down by adamsville is ok also. we use 93 to run down into zanesville from bolivar.

Speedy, Uncle Punk was talking about the stretch north of where we usually pick it up. I have ridden that part to get to Barberton before now. He's right - it's not great. If there are detours it would be even less fun.

I would say 93 south of Beach City is a good road - varied and fun - a nice way to warm up before getting to the real challenging roads down south.

  6. 78' date=' 255, 556, 9, 148, 147, 145...[/quote']

Be warned that OH-148 between OH-800 and OH-145 is currently being 'improved'. Once a tasty high speed sweeper treat, it is for the time being a big old gravel track making it largely unrideable for about 9 miles. Strongly advise you to either avoid it or bring your dirtbike.

The others that IP mention are tasty though.

  7. i rode with those guys a few weeks ago... great guys. i'll ride with them when ever they don't mind a cruiser in the back lol

Hey Curby, did you ride with the CORE guys?

If you come down this way and want to ride, drop us a line - I'll bring the Bonneville out and meet you at the Dairy Queen in Bolivar. There are plenty of tasty roads within 10 minutes of here..

  8. Hi Bill,

I hope next time we actually get to ride together some.

Mark, I'm disappointed that we missed each other. I was expecting to see you on our way down 536, and you were not expecting anyone to be crazy enough to ride on 148. I see your point - but who was to know that the gravel would stretch the whole way to our intersection? My SS got a nice taste of dirtbike style riding that day! I found out yesterday, that it's hard to change routes when you have 15 or so bikes split across three (or more) groups.

Well mate, thanks on behalf or coreriders and ohioriders for ferrying Rob back to Bolivar yesterday - that was brilliant of you.

We'll grab you for a smaller ride sometime. Maybe we could pick you up in Sherrodsville on our way down south one Sunday?

  9. Nice ride yesterday' date=' nice roads, nice company. After I finish my 6 week siesta I'll have to ride 255 a few more times.[/quote']

Thanks Paul, yes it was great to see everyone yesterday. The number of people who showed up was a bit crazy, but by splitting into smaller groups it worked pretty well.. sort of.

As for your siesta... if you feel like strapping Isaac to the Victory and bringing him down to Dellroy for an icecream, I'll meet you both there. Just say the word. You know you love that bike!

I want to see you use some sunblock next time we're out - you have to look after yourself mate.

  10. Mellow? Come on now Bill, You ride that Bonne faster than most folks here can ride a sportbike. :D

Not sure about that. I always start off on the Bonneville with good intentions..

Thanks for the welcome messages everyone.

Will, drop me a line sometime if you are headed down this way. Or feel free to join a CORE ride if you like.

  11. Hi everyone, I'm Bill and I ride a '99 Ducati Supersport. Sometimes I break out my 2005 Triumph Bonneville when I'm feeling mellow.

I've been lurking on this site for quite a while. I usually ride with the people on CoreRiders.com - we've been meeting in Bolivar and riding together for many years. Well, my name got mentioned in a thread so I thought I'd better say 'hi' now, friendly like, in case I have to answer for my sins later.

I'm a bit old and I've been riding streetbikes for over 30 years, standards and sportbikes mostly.

I met OhioRiders Fox Racing Guy and RSlocum on Sunday and am looking forward to meeting others on the road sometime.

    Cheers.
