I have conti motion on my triple and like them a lot stick good and are good in the rain. I have 2k on mine and they look new.

I like the Continental Motions too. These are quality tires and the price is crazy for such flawless performance on the street. My bike takes a 170 rear so they are $155 shipped for the set!! I don't think anything else comes close in terms of value!

Some said 255 is better than 536, and "mini dragon" was used by some so I just put it there for stir some excitement

It's not at it's best right now, but when it is freshly paved 536 is without doubt the best technical road in SEO. Very challenging and definitely not a favourite for speed freaks because it defies attempts to ride with a rhythm - you really MUST pay attention at all times and adjust accordingly. However it is close to 556 which is good and fast, and 255 which is popular with the sportbike tourists right now.

Take it easy on 536. That one decreasing radius turn TPoppa mentioned has nailed a lot of people.

Looks like a fun route. A little detour from point F in Freeport you might want to try is Rt342 to Rt258, it runs right back into 800 in Stillwater. Both 342 & 258 have some nice turns and are lightly traveled. That section of 800 is pretty boring so I usually take the fun way.

I wish I could join in but I have a MX race at Area330 in Carrollton Sat & Sun.

I was curious about this so I tried Fox_Racing_Guy's alternative detour today. I have to say these roads are nice and gnarly and twisty, all in all a highly entertaining little back route but be aware that both roads are a bit dirty and 258 in particular seemed to have gravel in most of the corners. Also, there was a really tricky little dip on 258 that took me by surprise and I felt lucky to keep control. Until the roads are cleaned up I'd avoid it if the group are expecting to keep a quick pace.

It figures that Fox_Racing_Guy would suggest this - it's probably a bloody riot on a the MX bike!!

I don't own one, but know for sure that in the right hands they handle just fine. Ohio 26 is a decently twisty road and one blackbird rider showed me how to do it right. Very nimble - I was surprised.

Yea, I like it out here and I've only been on a few roads no twists just yet probably this weekend with a couple of other guys we might hit the mountain roads now that sounds like some fun to be had.

The best performance road I found while I was out there was route 112 out toward Neah Bay on the Olympic Peninsular. Nice and twisty and gnarly with incredible scenery.

Hurricane Ridge is definitely worth a try too - good and curvy with awe inspiring alpine views.

Overall, I rode many spectacular roads around the islands and the cascades but few were technically challenging like our SEO roads.

If you're hooked up with some locals, you'll find enough to keep you happy.

Off topic a bit... if you get a chance, try and get on a whale watch trip - it's amazing to watch pods of Orcas dancing around your boat.

I definitely fit the overall profile but do agonize over this particular item. My SSie is never very clean, and other Ducati owners are not shy about mentioning it. I do understand the value of keeping your stuff clean and it seems a shame to see a nice bike looking scruffy, but I just don't see the need for it to look brand new. I should pay DucRX to detail the old girl every week. Pauly?

I just checked it out. The road is closed for roadwork just west of Blough Rd. That is about half a mile east of OH21. Looks pretty much blocked off even for bikes.

I'll be taking Strasburg Bolivar Rd CR99 to get to 93 from Bolivar for the time being - actually a much nicer route anyway.

We rode down that way a couple of weekends ago and took 93 at a good clip all the way from Beach City to Otsego. I didn't notice anything so awful.

You'll be fine - just keep your eyes shut if you're squeamish.

However, if you're planning to take 212 over from Beach City to Bolivar, there is something up - I saw signs in Bolivar about the road being closed in 4 miles but have not checked out exactly where.

I'm being sarky. I thought 556 was pretty good on Sunday. Mind you I had my eyes squeezed shut most of the time.

The better ones are Kevlar mesh or a better abrasian-resistent material than polyester. Motoport makes a very good one, Rev-It too. Not cheap, but neither is an ER run and road-rash scrub.

I owned a JR Phoenix and a First Gear Torrent, but both leave a lot to be desired for crash protection. The Phoenix melted BAD on a gravel road slide on my elbow and shoulder, came right through the padding too...wouldn't trust that jacket at all on the pavement, but I suppose it's better than a T-shirt. Maybe.

I'm looking for a mesh riding jacket. I'm a bit wary though because I crashed in a JR Reactor once and it wasn't much protection - same story as Swingset above - the mesh melted away and shredded resulting in messy abrasions. Most online reviews of riding gear don't seriously address the purpose of the gear at all.... (I.e. How can you recommend a riding jacket that you never crashed in or stress tested in some way? Crash protection is it's only real purpose.)

I have read some good reviews of Rev-it gear in terms of quality and armor, but haven't found crash tests. Has anyone got any hard earned recommendations?
