  1. We saw one lap the course at the NW200 in Ireland in May. Naturally, I didn't geta pic of it. Looked pretty cool and didn't sound any different than a Japanese four.

Friend of mine bought 2 of them. He's going to race them and has one as a back up bike. He paid "$1,000 more than the R1" per bike. Dunno how much that is though.

As soon as he gets then, I'll have one in my garage for a couple of weeks to make all of the frame sliders, rearsets, etc for it. I'm still not sure when that'll be though.

I bought 4 of them. I'm going to crash them and have three for back ups.

  2. Having a sense of belonging is one of those big pieces of the puzzle that is life. Travel to central america is relatively inexpensive, and no matter what you decide you should take some time and see where you came from. I am 100% positive that after you see where you came from you will be grateful for where you are. Most people don't get joy from giving kids up, the decision is almost always made out of love.

I am not very well connected at OSU but I can help you make some phone calls. You may have the best luck talking to people from the Medical Center as many nurses and doctors volunteer their time working in less developed countries.

If you don't have a passport get one that way when you do decide you are ready to go. When I went to costa rica last month the plane ticket was just under $400. Look to stay in a Hostel as there will be many college age travelers and alot of them speak spanish.

  3. cant wait to get the fuck out of college and make some real $$$.....chipotle isnt shit

With your positive attitude I think you are going to be very disappointed the day after graduation.

  4. I think...I think...I can make this. I probably have one good ride left in my tires...maybe 2. I plan on spending Saturday in Ann Arbor..so if I come back Saturday night, I should be good..

As long as we're back by say 6 or 7.

When are you heading up to Ann Arbor? Are you riding?

I think I am going to this ride on Sunday and may start from Lorain with you guys

  5. All else equal... the class is setup to be a power/weight ratio of 1/3. So, if the Buell fits in there with a 140hp/420lbs and a I4 fits in there with 120hp/360lbs I really don't care what powerplant is used. Power is power, weight is weight. Let the engineers and test riders figure out how to setup the bike within those constraints. If you really want to make things competitive, use a cost factor as a multiplier... which will almost inevitably guarantee the parts make it onto a streetbike to ensure volume costing.

Take the most expensive bike in the class as a factor of '1' then all the other bikes that cost less can either reduce weight or add power (only up to the cost of '1') within the limitations expressed by the Supersport rules. I suppose that's sort of similar to what they do today...

I guess they need to add a torque ratio in there too

  6. A little low? HOLY SHIT DOOOD!! There was no one there!! This years turn out was horrible!!! I would really like to see attendance numbers. Anyone know where to find them... with a comparison to last year?

It just felt that way because I didn't go this year

  7. In his defense, he really didn't flaunt the fact he was a cop. The ticketing officer asked them if they had anything he should know about, and being a police officer means that you are more than likely concealed carrying. Anytime you are stopped by police you have to by law declare to the cop that you are carrying a lawful firearm, and that's basically what they did. Now, if this were any civilian with a CCW, the cop would have disarmed that person immediately, stored the firearm in his cruiser, and completed the stop. That didn't happen here due to the fact that they were cops, and that's why they declared that right off the bat. I'm totally fine with this.

And that is as far as the special treatment should have went given the circumstances.

In smashweights defense you really cant hear or read. Maybe you just cant comprehend the things you have read. The officer that pulled them over asked "Do you have anything on you I should know about" and goofball responds "A couple of badges" <-That is flaunting being a cop

  8. Seriously, what kind of an up tight attention whoring prick comes in and starts a thread about someone else being an attention whore. I'm sorry was someone walking on your grass, lighten up Francis. I must have missed the memo that stated you decide what is appropriate subject matter to be posted? I must be slow but what I have seen are appropriate threads posted in the correct areas. Only a fool would try to set a limit to how much attention someone gets. Most posts are made to get a response from another member, if you don't like someone responding to a post STFU and move on. These things have a way of working themselves out usually with much hilarity. Why would one uptight ignorant attention whore be any better than an overly friendly desperate attention whore?
It was hardly a call for attention to myself. I'll totally admit it was a call for attention to what's happening around here. There are off topic areas for off topic discussions, true, but remember the basis of this site is "For motorcyclists in and around Ohio." If you come here for that, welcome! And you're more than welcome to talk about whatever random things you want. But just because you own a motorcycle or ride a motorcycle, that doesn't automatically mean that was your purpose in joining (sara_rides). If you come here because you are trying to give blue balls to everyone you can so you feel better about yourself, I'm not going to welcome you and neither is the majority of the site, as shown by her neg rep she so quickly put together.

  9. Guys, seriously we got to get this shit under control.

The recent influx of attention whoring is out of control. I'm on the same page as most of you, tits or gtfo. But seriously, we can do better. We're not going to stop people from joining and being attention whores, but we can stop reinforcing and supporting them.

"Omg HI! I don't have a bike but I totally love guys with motorcycles *roar*. If anyone wants to ride me, oops I mean ride with me... hehehe I'm so embarrassed"

Let's do everyone a favor and just not even acknowledge these folks. Let's look at best cases and worst cases.

    Best Case:

    You see some tits

    You get laid

    Worst Case:

    No tits

    No sex

    You get stabbed

You have to ride around with a backpack all day

    You get married

Seriously, as much as I love "amateurs" and love tits, a quick visit to Google can net me the same results, and much less of a nuisance. I'm sure I'll get some negative rep here, but that's fine, I know there's a lot of ladies here that we should respect (been around a while, actually ride, etc) that have said similar things... and I know a few of you guys are tired of this too.

So let's take a stance! Let's flirt with the actual lady riders, not the wannabe "backpacks" as Jess put it, and let's get back on the road

I fixed your list (changes in Bold)

  10. It's easy:

Step 1: Don't care about your appearance.

Step 2: Decide that shaving is unimportant due to Step 1.

    Step 3: ????

    Step 4: Profit!

Of course, step 5 is "Get annoyed by extra itchy facial fur, shave in a hurry, break out with razor burn, and return to step 1."

And anyway, somewhere in my DNA (black/white/Cherokee) is something that says "Your beard will never be full or bushy- learn to like scraggly stubble." So I'm generally envious of people who can pull off nifty goatees.

    Everything's relative.

I have been know to sport the lazy man beard. :) positive rep for you
