Automobile Tuning is a little more involved and comes more at a greater cost to me in terms of the cost of software and licensing. You can see more about my auto rates by visiting the website. I have plenty of experience with all three power adders on automobiles. Would you consider doing a turbo over a supercharger?

There are far more parameters that I can change using my tuning software which is HP Tuners. I would suggest selling your hypertech and putting that money towards the cost of a custom tune for the truck. I am sure the tune needs some work given the fact that the maf has been changed. If nothing else we should run a baseline on it sometime and scan it with the tuning software to see how far off the tune is.

Are you saying we should have a prize for the lowest power? Hmm. What would that prize be?
-
Ok. No credit Cards:D

Please bring cash as this will save me time having to run credit cards which I have to do manually over the phone. This will also make it easier for me to take care of the donation to Ohio Riders.

1. Does anyone have bicycle they can donate for this. Possibly bring it the day before the dyno day or in the morning? 2. Should we have a set amount of time to pedal the bike? Say 20 or 30 seconds? 3. Do you want to offer a reward for top speed? 4. What time in the day do we want to do this? I would like to limit it to know more then a 1/2 hour so we can make sure all customers are taken care of. I have a feeling I am going to be extremely busy. 5. If people want to pay a sign up fee of say $5.00 bucks, I will give away gift certificate good for some dyno time to be used at a later date. I am thinking possibly an hour of dyno time which is a $75.00 value. We can use the sign up fee to either donate to the forum or pay towards our food and drinks. I am already donating $5.00 per bike that I dyno to Ohio Riders. Let me know your thoughts. I would like to have this somewhat organized. I almost forgot. Who is going to win?????????????

Thank you for the kind words. I am trying to put some more effort into the forum. What year is your S10? I should be able to find you some fuel economy as well. Let your friend know that I have been tuning 5 Liter Mustangs since 2003. Between my father and I we have 8 mustangs. A majority of my business comes from mustang tuning. However the LS1 cars are starting to catch up in terms of business.

They are calling for temps close to 60 degrees. Anyone going to ride tomorrow to Tommy's?

I want to thank every last one of you that have posted in this thread for your information. It is appreciated that you have taken a little bit of time out of your day to share both your knowledge and experience in regards to motorcycles. I am sure some of the information shared here can be applied to automotive side of the business. I will be looking forward to seeing and talking to as many of you as I can at the dyno day. Please come out even if you are not planning to dyno. Good times to be had by all.

Let me know if you ever need the dyno for some harley work. My only exposure to HD's have been a couple power commanders and 1 screaming eagle tuner. I was very impressed with the Screaming Eagle software. It is very similar to doing a speed density tune on a 98 LS1 Car. (Corvette, Camaro, Firebird, ETC)

I am going to try and make it.

All really good ideas. Ohio Riders= one of the more intelligent forums that I have been on.

Some bike nights do not want the noise and want a couple hundred bucks just to set up. I need to get a list of the bike nights here in columbus. I know beers, boobs, and bars are the things that are needed for a bike night. If I could sell beer I would have a bike night at the shop once a week.

Wanted to thank everyone for their input. I agree it that it inventory would be the next step. I guess I need to decide on where I want to spend my money. My original plan was to do buy a building instead of renting. I eventually want to have an AWD dyno in the ground and rather spend the money to put in the ground in a building I own instead of one the land lord owns. I am thinking general service should be my next step. Then start looking into some inventory for both cars and bikes.

People that call me now are only asking about tuning because that is all I am able to offer at this time. The only thing I really turn away now would be carb tuning. I still offer the dyno at a really great rate should the customer want to either make the changes themselves or bring someone else in to do the changes. I do not have any carb bikes that are at my disposal to learn carb tuning. I might be going at this wrong. My thinking is I would like to bring someone in who is both bike and carb smart to take care of carb bikes. My other services include Custom ECM/PCM tuning for Ford and GM vehicles. I do a number of mustangs, corvettes, camaros, and firebirds. I also get modified trucks from time to time. The fuel injected bike tuning has been icing on the cake which is what made me go out and purchase a mobile bike dyno.

Thought it was time for a sig change. Did not make much sense to me to have my mustangs or vette in my sig on a motorcycle forum.

I need to sit down and do some brain storming with others. There are so many motorcycles running up and down our streets here in Columbus. There has to be some opportunity.
-
The horsepower rating of 325 is the suggestted max hp in regards to the bearings on the dyno. It will read well above 325. The dyno might need some new bearings after a few pulls.

Maybe I should post this on craigslist. I imagine the girlfriend would want in on this!

Guys and Gals. I am wanting to try and expand the motorcycle side of Dyno Tune. I believe I offer both a good value and a quality tune for the fuel injected bike owners. I would like to expand and I am not sure what direction to take. I know that I have gotten a number of pm's on here regarding carb tuning. I have to be honest that I have had very little exposure to carbs with both bikes and cars. Fuel Injection is what I know. I have a few questions I would like to ask. 1. Is there a demand for tuning carb bikes in the columbus area? 2. What other services do you look for when looking for a shop? 3. Preventative maintenance? Repairs? Performance Upgrades? 4. Are there any members on here that would want to team up with Dyno Tune and provide maintenance, repairs, and performance upgrades? 5. Are you happy with the exsisting shops in the Columbus area that offer the services I have mentioned? 6. What could they do to improve? Please share your thoughts and ideas with me. I am interested in bringing someone in that can help grow my business and provide someone an opportunity to pursue their love for motorcycles.

Hmm. I am not sure to be honest. What do others think?

We could always dyno it on the big dyno which is good for 1200 hp. This would take some time to set up as I have removed the wheel chaulk from the car dyno after purchasing the bike dyno.
