  1. If you talking about how the power is falling off-did you miss the part about stock Hyundai Junkyard head/cams? The cams were designed for a car that made 80whp The chart looks identical to my Colt with stock cams, and every other stock cam'd DSM I have seen. The addition of cams in my Colt (with 60-1) with NO additional tunning was good for 6mph at the track with less boost. Needless to say-I'm not worried about it. But-if for some reason it wont make 700+ with a real head on it, and a set of cams-the 42 will go right back on. Cliffs-Thats a negative.
  2. Drove up in the rain-made it on the Dyno around 3am. First pull, no changes-20psi (creep to 22 by redline) 450whp/400ft lbs. Full boost by 4.8k http://www.doitbig.org/coltboostin/pics/4GX7/done/dynostockhead/rx7dynostockhead%20066.mpg (right click-save as please) AFR's were a bit lean for me on pump gas 12.2-12.5, so I turned to fuel up. Made 468/413 next pull with 11.2-11.5 AFR's. Go to 110 leaded "pump" gas, play with restrictors for a few pulls-get it to spike to 30ish psi, and hold just under 30ps to redline (only 7k, since my stock Hyundi head/cams own me) 564whp 490ft lbs trq. With nice and thick 11.0-11.2 AFR's. It was 4am, so we went to stake and shake. I dont see the need in trying to get the tune "perfect" with all the junkyard parts on the car. Both turbo's still feel mint, and both compressors are 100% perfect, even with well over 1000miles of flogging with my "ghetto" ram air induction. Cliff notes on set up 4G64 w junkyard Hyundai DOHC head Stock Rusty Hyundai cams JMF RWD intake/w Q45 Twin China 50 trims Mild welded "BoBo" manifold Single used Tial 38mm Fidanza Flywheel ACT 2600/6 puck clutch JP Fab whatever is laying around intercooler plumbing "look what I found" DSM 255lhp fuel pump 1600cc injectors DSM Link GM MAF-T China intercooler 2.5x2 to 4inch exhaust (1/2 of which made from Cummins stock exhaust) Jp Fab Alt relocation "Peek-a-boo" Ram air induction Junk ass Cobra wheels with BFG's I will toss a good head on it over winter, with Cams I already have for the car. I do expect to make anywhere from 100-200more whp more, since I will rev it to 8k, and the power will climb all the way to that point. As long as ti does not run out of turbo, or the lack of good exhaust flow does not choke it up, it seems like it should beat the Colt's 708whp. The kicker-you can duplicate this fro $4475. Although I did not spend that much, thanks to always scavenging for cheap used parts, and my Grandfathered sponsors JMF and DSmlink, if you have a harbor freight mig welded and a little bit of time, you could have quite the FUZION for less than 5k total investment. Thanks to Jim at JMF http://www.jmfabrications.com/ And Tom at DSMlink http://server.dsmlink.com// For your amazing products! More videos/timeslips/40 rolls to come.....
  3. That took some internet dork a LONG time. Good work.
  4. Nice passes. Every time I see one of you guys make a pass-I become more confident I will achieve my own goals. yippee
  5. Hard on the brakes. My colt used to look MUCH worse comming down from 180-200mph. We are talking spectators think my car was on fire bad!
  6. That looks like Teahupoo. Even though Jaws on a big day usually gives a bigger set, thats the most dangerous wave in the world. Not due to flying jet skis, but the volume of the curl is insane. Think of volume=width.
  7. I almost drowned riding waves that were 20-25 foot face at a place called Waimea bay. Some of the waves at Jaws have had 80+foot faces, with is just ridiculous. You cant appreciate how dangerous that is-unless you get crushed by some 30 footers like me, or actually crunch the numbers and see how heavy that much water is, and how much force is behind it. Funny thing about Jaws-is that its only up every so often, when conditions are right. Most days the water is dead flat. Last time I was down there I checked it out, and people were fucking snorkling it was so flat!
  8. Cars are not all that ridiculous, but the scenario is very cool We've wanted to do this for some time, working on getting the tailer for it. VERY cool shit.
  9. Yes- That also tells me a fast 4 banger may be able to go down to a charade like that, and clean house since the backyard boys would have no fucking clue when say an Evo on street tires pulls up. Most V8 guys still look at me like I am crazy when I tell them what kind of power my Colt made/ran with the $'s in mods that was done to it.
  10. Anyone catch the guy saying "well it cant be a GT42, thats to heavy of a turbo to run ona 4 cylinder-that thing wont spin fast enough." Made me lol. Very cool shit though.
  11. Than I have seen out all year. I saw 2 guys almost dump there bike trying to come to a stop-and that was just on the way to the gym! Was it that bad down there?
  12. Just put 120 miles on it today-and have determined that I need a muffler! Yikes
  13. Heck no-I have no real goals for this car. I just had to be cheap- And be faster than most from a roll. Thats it
  14. Have the experts seem Mangs down in PR pulling 1.2 60 foot times and going 8.0's @ 16X on them?
  15. Yes, of course the mounts were custom! I will say-there was much more fabrication than I anticipated-more so than what is involved in swaping,-say a Colt.
  16. Turbo TII cluster-and its a real turbo TII quad post? Yikes
  17. HAHa! That was not me, but I didnt even notice it. I had a buddy grinding some shit for me.
  18. Yes, but I was at least the first. Those punks got the idea from me as it is-they sent me 1 million emails back in winter when I was will at Shearer. Oh well
  19. Thats about right. 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0's everywhere. If you pull it-its $30-40 bucks.
  20. Kinda-sorta-but not really. B2600 bellhousing+TII trans makes it work. Clutch and flywheel are out of a conquest. The Mighy max 5 speed will bolt to a regulat turbo 2.0 though, if you want to go that route. Those trannys get pissed after 400whp though.
  21. Dont diss the poor Colt. I still though it had a nice body line- For an econo box at least. Thanks though. I have always liked RX-7, just not the powerplant. It darts at high speed (needs a rear end alignment) - and has some exhaust leaks (shit I forgot to weld). If everything goes well, I will be getting another wally from Battle of the Imports on Sunday.
