Boom. And the Toyota was a 300% better car. Its still running today (I dont own it) with 240k on it. Burns 2 quarts an oil change...but she still runs!!!
-
My first car was a Toyota tercel. New, it was like $6600- No AC. 4 speed, radio and heat with Vynal. I bought it used for $1200 when it was 5 years old. You cant buy a car like that new even though this market NEEDS a car like that.

Some great updates. Cooling. She has been running warm since day one. Always looking for the shortest path to success, I simply tilted the radiator maybe 10 degrees and added a flap at the bottom. Holy hell what a difference! I went from cursing at 215+ with the Fans ON, to 160 deg with the fans OFF. The car won’t go over 180 deg even after back to back highway pulls. Yes!!!!! Dont mind the packing tape-I wanted to make sure it was shrouded and had nothing else available LOL. This is temporary. http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/LsxRx7/IMG_20160624_100322871_HDR.jpg Fuel So my twin used $40 pumps lasted a day LOL. Used Quantum died on the way to work. Pulled over, blocked it off-and made it back and home on the AEM 340. Just ponied up the $90 for a new 450 Wally and found a way to get it in there. WOW. Was able to peg 120 psi with ease- so I increased base pressure to 65psi. Went from 105% IDC, to 77% IDC at 22psi. Back to the dyno http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/LsxRx7/IMG_20160625_010231647.jpg With the new found fuel, we hit the dyno to turn it up a bit. Ended up with 830whp with a safe tune at 22psi and out of wastegate! Thats my fault-what did I expect with the 10psi springs I recently installed. I will be redoing the gate set up and be back later this year looking for more boost. She is a rocket though at this level-video s coming soon. Sorry for the short Vid-only one I got on my phone! This was a pull to 6400. Redline is now 7200. I have driven the car so much not that cords are showing on my rear tires. I guess it’s time to try and fit these 28' MT Pros. Daddy needs traction! -
Is it an AL block? Ls3? 4L 60 or 80e? This has potential.

Fixed a few lingering issues with the car. First was heavy boost spikes. I figured it was my sub par wastegate placement, but i decided to check the springs just to be sure. We'll yep, Im a jackass. Had 20+psi of spring in there! Whoops. spring change and I can hold 10psi to redline. Bingo! Next, while I had the car in the air working on the gates, I noticed the rear wheels could spin independently of each other. Uh-oh. Out comes the diff. Luckily, it broke the welds, and just munched them up and kept rolling! http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/LsxRx7/IMG_20160613_205136390.jpg Yep-no longer welded. So i was able to just re-weld more (significantly more) using my buddies 220v Miller and save the gear set. Hooks up a TON better now LOL. Lets see how long THAT lasts! Next, I picked up a used pair of 340's for $50. One was louder than the other, but F it-lets roll! Upon removal of the hanger, I immediately found out why my car "fuel sloshed" so bad on launch and between shifts! VIDEO http://vid1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/LsxRx7/VID_20160619_135030942.mp4 http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/LsxRx7/IMG_20160619_135028701_HDR.jpg That how it was IN THE TANK. Just flopping around. Also, after measuring everything- the pumps were a good 3 inched off the bottom of the tank with no filter socks, so I am sure they were cavitating like a mofo whole flopping around in there. I must have been drunk when I built this thing!! Redid everything, mounted the pumps with socks a 1/2 in off the bottom, rewired with 12 gauge wire (previous was 18 gauge trailer wires), and we should now be good to go. After all this-I have been driving her around well on pump gas. This week also I was asked to bring the car down for a magazine shoot at the shop that painted the car. http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/LsxRx7/IMG_20160622_170501768_HDR.jpg http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/LsxRx7/IMG_20160622_162559589_HDR.jpg Old girl shines up nice! Last things before they next dyno session is a plug change )still on last years plugs) wire in my 2 stage boost controller, and address cooling. Temp still creeps too 210 deg. I miss the AL block!! -
I have $200 into my 5.3 and if we have enough fuel, we are shooting for 1000whp. :dumb:

Great timing, literally bought tickets for a Vegas bender yesterday WITH my points! But fuck it. I'm in. Consider this *sale pending* -
Yes. I was able to sell the usable parts and about break even on it all. The car was bought form the junkyard for $200, and that was the only thin I could not sell. And yes, as bad as I though it looked that day, in retrospect...I have seen MUCH worst from MUCH slower speeds. to note I did a lot of "driving" even when I was spinning around. I was super focused actually, remember every second of it. Thank Adrenalin for that i suppose. I remember immediately thinking were going to flip.....then when we didn't thinking I have to keep it straight as possible......so I tried to hold it straight even when backwards. After the first hit..it wanted to shoot across thew highway and I had to manhandle it back straight,,and left. To the right was a large ditch and trees that had flip city written all over it. The car was 100% wrapped around the cage. A lot of luck, a little skill, and a guardian angel for sure.

You can import a Euro car if you were super horny for one.

Thanks to Chris korb for the pics! http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/wrx110487/JP%20Colt/coltboostins%20colt%2011_zpsfkhroesm.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/wrx110487/JP%20Colt/DSC00200_zpsaijh0zkc.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/wrx110487/JP%20Colt/DSC00201_zpsao9mnt4v.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/wrx110487/JP%20Colt/coltboostins%20colt%205_zpssuwahqxz.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/wrx110487/JP%20Colt/colt_zps5vgtlw6c.jpg

The most stroke, and the highest compression you can afford. E85, aftermarket heads and Big ass cam.

http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/IMG_20160519_103927416_HDR.jpg Use these for photoshop reference. Its just about the perfect wheel for the car IMO. Congrats on the purchase. If you have E85 near you, just email them for their Uber tune and call it a day.

I agree. Just using it as one of 4697346 examples of a better way he may be able to spend 3 mil. Man, I dont know if your JUST looking at return, but IMO this is a recipe for disaster.

As an update on my end, we are framed! http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/IMG_20160605_182615561_HDR.jpg I've been poping up unannounced a few times and every time am impressed with the work being done. I bring coffee and doughnuts so they dont hate me LOL. about 2/3 of the frame team was Omish (this is a big plus to me) http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/IMG_20160605_181322163_HDR.jpg There is a creek about 30 feet behind me here-and my property line is the middle of that creek. As you can see, I elected to have no windows on the east side of the house (they were all extra). I do regret not having at least one east facing int he office, but its too late now! Keeping it cheap sometimes is not optimal. http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/IMG_20160605_180328716.jpg The custom changes we designed were done on site, No issues so far.

Wow. Is that your work? Epic

WTF? Do you have any experience in a Daycare business? And how/why would it be so expensive? You could start up like 40 Subways for that LOL I had 5 rentals at one time. I am down to one double. Cash out while the market is high, I think we are about at peak for home values, but if the cash flow is better than 35-40% market cap, just sit back and count money. My recommendation, if you are not liquid with a minimum of 3 years reserved+your investment, just try a non-cor HR job unless you are willing to file BK if it goes belly-up. My company for example is largish (2500+ employees, nation wide branches), but not at all cooperate. We have a "corporate headquarters" but the HR is a joke. Im shocked they get paid to do what they do to work as little as they do. You may love the change of pace coming from a rigid corp job. Good luck in what you chose.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, been a busy few weeks with non car stuff. Took the Fam on Summer Vaca. http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/IMG_20160526_071439458_HDR.jpg And THIS has been taking all of my time! Not much time for car antics this summer. I've been very hands on with this project, and it cant be as sloppy as the can unfortunately. The goal is "zero zip ties" LOL http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/IMG_20160605_182615561_HDR.jpg What little free time I have been driving and enjoying the car even though it needs some finishing up. Take it to work quite often when its nice out. Hard for me to fix something thats not really broke. http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af154/coltboostin/LsxRx7/IMG_20160602_193609763_HDR.jpg Went to a charity Dyno day that I won shutting down at 5500 (730whp-chart going STRAIGHT up) because it was leaning out pretty hard. Found a clogged fuel filter. $4 at autozone, and we are good to go, but I still need more pump! Somewhere along the line, my diff unwelded itself (yes, it still runs fine, just one wheel peels!) and I know I need to fix it. So, not I have th opportunity to do some work. Short list before I can take it for the FULL JAM tune session- More pump. Min 340x2 (sourced used for $40) Wire 2 stage boost control Figure out overboost situation- spikes to 18+ Try to fit Mickey ET Pros 28x10.5 Fuel Filter Plugs (still from 2014 LOL) Address cooling. Angle radiator/Shroud/More fan Wish List Turbo Blanket? GM style coolant reservoir Fuel cell, or swirl Pot and AEM 380's Updates soon! -

Is a non turbo car a 996? May be a dumb question....but I always associate with turbos and odd exhaust notes. -
Beat me to it. Light, small, fucking magic for ETs
