Great write up! I got a ticket for my blitz and I have two questions: 1. What about Harleys. 2. You are allowed to modofy your exhaust. The cop told me you are not allowed to modify your exhaust from stock in the state of OHio, which, that law, isnt on the books ... or else they would stick you will a MODIFIED EXHAUST ticket, but all they have is EXCESSIVE NOISE. 2137.20 Mufflers; excessive smoke or gas. (a) Every vehicle and motorcycle with an internal combustion engine shall at all times be equipped with a muffler which is in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise, and no person shall use a muffler cutout, by-pass, or similar device upon a motor vehicle on a highway. Every motorcycle muffler shall be equipped with baffle plates. No person shall own, operate, or have in the person痴 possession any vehicle or motorcycle equipped with a device for producing excessive smoke or gas, or so equipped as to permit oil or any other chemical to flow into or upon the exhaust pipe or muffler of such vehicle or motorcycle, or equipped in any other way to produce or emit smoke or dangerous or annoying gases from any portion of such vehicle, other than the ordinary gases emitted by the exhaust of an internal combustion engine under normal operation. (b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. If, within one (1) year, the offender previously has been convicted of a violation of this section, Section 4513.22 of the Ohio Revised Code, or a substantially similar municipal ordinance, whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. If, within one (1) year, the offender previously has been convicted of two (2) or more violations of this section, Section 4513.22 of the Ohio Revised Code, or a substantially similar municipal ordinance, whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree. (ORC 4513.22; Ord. 2120-03 ァ 1 (part).)

i test drove the 04 and the 05 gto ... i loved it! If i was going to get a car to commute in, it would be the GTO ... it has a nice interior, better than the mustang, and all around i liked it alot ... seriously a nice car ... i got the sti cause in cleveland a RWD in the snow sucks .... down here where there is no snow, i might have just gotten the GTO over the STI ... But the aztec is still for sale ... sheesh, get a clue! its was cool to bring the monaro over here ... too bad to see it go, wish i could have owned one ...

Was posted over on the cleveland board LERSOC by David Buschur::: "Hey guys, Thought you might enjoy this. Put our black car on the dyno. Still working out the tune on it. It is going back on this week. We only ran the car to 7700 rpm, it will go to 10,000. When it does as you can see by the dyno sheet below it is going to make quite a bit more power. The car is our Stage 3 head and Stage 3 Two liter engine. Turbo is a GT45R. Enjoy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v662/brjrod/dragcar1.jpg David Buschur www.buschurracing.com"

chrismindless replied to chrismindless's topic in Daily Ride
thx for the compliment! Im looking at either a suzuki 500F/650 OR a ninja 500R ... the 650R has 21 more hp than the 500R and more $$... i think the 500r is what im gonna settle on, now to find a used one ... -

thx for the advice guys! Im definitely not getting a 600 at first, i really want to get on something smaller to get up on skills, etc. I think that if I got an R6 or something I really want I wouldnt be able to experiment comfortably. Ive read article after article and even though the slower bikes dont look so good, i can wait til mid summer or even next year ... -

lemosley01, experience wise i wouldnt extend myself, i mostly have ATV experience with my dad and friends since i was a kid, and dirt bikes when ppl brought them out with the ATVs... my younger brother had a moped when i was 17, we rode that thing everywhere even though i could keep up on a pedal bike ... from sitting and riding my friend's 1000cc, i can EASILY tell thats too much power for me, I hardly touched the throttle and I was moving faster than expected, but nonetheless, I think the MOST i would get is a 600-650 ... the weird part about supersports is how you sit on the bike, nothing like anything i've been on, makes my wrists hurt the first few times out. i have good throttle control over bumps and i have the 2fingers on the clutch ready at a moments notice. the part that I am weak in is turning ... thats where I HAVE to work on! Im used to just putting down feet and turning around or backing up ... the R1 i sat on wasnt as -easy- to manuever, im sure with practice it would be ... any tips? i started driving REALLY slow cars but learned how to move fast ... makes total sense to start small and work up ... i watched a miata own a ferrari at an autoX a few years back ... skill > bullshit .... -

lemosley01, very good articles, everything is 100% accurate! My dad taught me to ride ATVs and Dirt BIkes when I was younger, I havent been on a bike in a few years and I havent done any ATV stuff for awhile now ... but even those weren't that fast compared to a 600cc or a 1000cc ... Im completely torn because I have some experience, but I almost want to just get a 500cc bike just to be safe ... im going to start sitting on bikes and trying stuff out, but thanks for the links. The article about new riders and 600cc sb's was very true, I couldnt agree more. I laughed about the part about new riders hittin a pot hole and givng the gas a quick yank ... hahaha, i did that often on the ATVs and dirtbikes ... but 125cc doesnt throw you back quite like a 600cc ... havent been thrown but Ive had the shit scared out of me before ... -
PMs sent!

if ppl dont want to be in a place that has smoking they take their business elsewhere ... i dont smoke and i like it, BUT i dont think its right to take that choice from businesses ... same as i think abortion is comlpetely WRONG BUT I also dont think I have the right to tell everyone else that they cant do it based on my belief so I believe in pro-choice for that reason ... the bill will pass, same ppl are afraid of gay marriages ... sheesh ...

I have one friend telling me to get a yamaha r6, another telling me to get a suzuki 600, and another telling me to get a honda cbr600 ... im sure this is beaten to death, im not here to beat it down, but this is my first bike, i figured a 600 would be a good beginners bike ... im 6'-2", 195lbs ... as far as being a more 'forgiving' bike, which ones from your experience are more 'forgiving' to use new riders? thx guys

Wow, a very good response! About the idea using percentage of change rather than total weight lost, I like that idea. My concern, is that for ppl of builds like mine, we can only lose so much weight but Ive seen ppl that are 350lbs only loose a little bit of weight. So really its up to everyone. Originally, the idea was total weight loss. I can change it to percentage of change. another idea i had, was since there are many ppl, we could do two categories, the person with the highest percent of change wins half the pot and the person with the most weight lost wins the other half ... then we can have 2 winners. What do you think? Weigh in is going to be soon. Can everyone meetup in central columbus around OSU at Sunday at noon? Im going to work it out with one of the gyms here on campus and we can use one of their scales. I know for Jessie Owens, they have a scale and its right on the outskirt of campus. Let me know if you can make it on Sunday at noon. Probably will do something like noon-2pm. There you will weigh in, and buy in. Once you are in, you are in the comp. You can drop out but you forfeit your money. The buy in is set at $20.
