  1. As far as your neck chafing, you can take a dremel to the rough areas to smooth them out, or have a smooth-side-out leather patch sewn on the collar.
  2. You're in a leather suit (Hot), in Ohio (Usually hot), while doing strenuous activities (Also hot). You're going to be hot and sweaty. Drink water private. UA and other style materials help wick moisture, but you leather perforations will be the limiting factor while riding. Compression gear helps muscles some as well. I use the under-suit because it makes it way easier to get in and out of it, and the wind feels wonderful once you get the leathers off in-between sessions. BTW, this comment was assuming you meant a full suit when you said leathers. If you mean street gear, just get direct airflow on the material and it works great. Almost too well when it isn't crazy hot out.
  3. Psycleskins from STG work well for me. http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=8415 No elastic to annoy your waist where the top and bottom merge, breathes well, helps you get in and out of suit without much assistance.
  4. I can't find anything for WSBK/BSB online. I'll be looking more intently here as the seasons get started so I'll let you know. MotoGP.com offers a video pass every season for about 100 Euro. It gives you access to all the practice, qualifying, and races for all the classes. All in HD.
  5. Making serialized lowers involves much more paperwork and limits your customers. The upper can easily stay the same. All they would have to do is machine something in place of the mag well that can't be changed. Would make it totally useless to ARs.
  6. Sounds fun. I started a Ohio Riders league for those interested. PIN: 10588
  7. AR lower receiver is the serialized portion of the weapon. It does not matter if it has parts in it or not. You can buy every other part in an AR without paperwork (Ex. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/819768/dpms-oracle-ar-15-unassembled-carbine-kit-556x45mm-nato-16-barrel-with-oracle-upper-assembly-collapsible-stock-assembly-lower-receiver-parts-kit-pre-ban) The point of the x-bow lower would be to provide fire control to someone that doesn't have an AR. It looks like the x-bow lower is not the same as a AR lower. There is likely some important differences.
  8. That is kind of awesome that I linked to a page that a member wrote. But, yes, it is sad. I've been buying the MotoGP video pass for the past few years so that helps. I wish we had an environment like BSB.
  9. I almost forgot one of my greatest squid moment until a friend reminded me. I once decided that laying a coat of armor-all on the passenger seat would make it look really nice and shiny. The passenger that slide all over the seat on the following ride was not so impressed.
  10. http://www.theridesofar.com/2012/11/dmg-announces-new-superbike-rules/ Hilarious.
  11. Troy Industries makes great sights, and they make their fronts with an option for lower RGBs. As far as the offset sight idea, what is your reason for needing them? I can see very few practical reasons for them. If you're in a firefight and your optic goes down, the .5 seconds to deploy BUIS isn't terrible. A sidearm can be deployed about as quickly too. Get an optic that co-witnesses with your BUIS. That way they can be easily deployed if needed without removing the optic. Get an optic that does not utilize batteries. (Fiber optics/tritium)
  12. Snipers are a huge force multiplier. They actively protect troops from threats. (That alone is good enough for me) They have good vantage points to pass valuable intel to troops. They can eliminate targets that pose a threat to large ground forces covertly. They inspire fear in the enemy and cause chaos, which impedes the enemy from functioning fully. The optics they use cause them to have a much more personal decision on each shot. Mental resilience is very strong for them. Yes, he was paid, but every one of his specialties are above and beyond what most in the service do. Not to mention our pay is pretty abysmal for the time and service required, but that is not why we raised our hands. Navy - Volunteer SEAL - Volunteer Sniper - Volunteer He was a gifted sniper, in an environment that allowed him to do his job without a pile of red tape. He saved countless lives with his actions. The shooting range he was shot at was not a normal range. It was a 11,000 acre open area. Not much over watch in places like that. With his training, I'd expect he (Chris Kyle) was trying to help the shooter in some manner or another and the shooter turned on them rather than the shooter getting the jump on them in the brush. Again, the common theme here is the shooter was a mentally unstable person. This one was even at a weapons range. Even if this thread was just about a PV2 that got killed in an IED blast, you still have no right to say that he deserved to die based on his job. A thread could be to salute a service member and that is all the reason it needs. As always, you're a moron. I know they haven't made a cure for liberals yet so we're still stuck with your babbling. Try and use some common decency for people that lived and died with honor, and fought for your freedoms.
  13. You also want to flare out the swing-arm to fit the 330 section rear, right? Don't forget to strap your front end down to make it match. Lower the bike to the ground with bags and it will complete the look. Make sure to avoid wearing gear at all times (or replace it with Icon), and isolate your riding to drag racing wherever the most people can see you and the transformation is complete. Seriously, your ride and handling will go to garbage. We'll also be forced to laugh at you. It can be done with swing-arm extensions, but the "right" way to do it is to weld extensions in the swing-arm. You'll need some skill with a welder, and you'll have to fabricate a jig to make sure all the angles stay true. New chain is a given, and I'd replace all the maintenance related stuff that you have access to once you have the swing-arm off.
  14. You name it, I've probably done it. First bike I ever go on was a 85 Maxim 650 my buddy just finished fixing up. Made it 100 yds before I realized I didn't remember how to ride a bike and it wasn't turning when I turned the bars. Dropped a bike turning from Klondike onto 36 when I misjudged the steep angle of the turn. Caught the bike with my leg, but couldn't lift it from that position. Had to set it down to get off and pick it up. Only damage was my pride. Dropped a bike on Emerald Parkway when I learned that aggressive lean angles in roundabouts and applying power on painted white arrows don't match. Packed and loaded all my stuff up while PCS'ing from Ft. Gordon and realized I still had to go ride the Hardley to the ramp so we could load it. Ended up riding the two miles to the ramp (At the Harley dealership...) in a neon pink cut-off T-Shirt with Girl Power on it and a pair of mesh shorts. Luckily, no pictures were taken. Dropped a bike at the dragon when I switched from the GSXR1000 I was riding with good tires to a 1000RR with bad OE tires. No feel + trying to run that same lines and speeds as the GSXR = Me thrown off a hill. Right in front of a camera stand. I was a featured photo. It was awesome. Dropped a bike at M-O where I was educated that following the instructor at whatever speed he is going regardless of my comfort level will only result in him continuing to go faster and me crashing trying to keep up.
  15. Thanks! Hopefully it was the tightness of the suit and not the existing knee problems. Not yet. I straightened the subframe, fixed some wiring issues, replaced the fairing stay and started work on refinishing the plastics. I still need to finish the plastics, swap the swingarm, and drop the motor to retrieve the snapped frame slider bolt. Being stationed at Campbell and the bike being home makes it difficult. My few weekends home are crazy busy too.
  16. Good to hear everyone is coming to the same conclusions I am. Now stop frantically buying everything in sight so the prices and stock can normalize.
  17. Bump. Its a great suit that is taking up space in the closet.
  18. Bump. Please get this axe out of my collection.
  19. +1 This whole idea of living in a bubble and if anything can hurt you physically or mentally it is wrong and should be banned is retarded. Pussification of society says it just right.
  20. +1 Go back to hugging a tree, politics are not your strong suit. (To serpent, not Ben)
  21. Shit should be taught as dogma in driver's ed.
