  1. Welcome! I grew up in the Middletown/Franklin area. I got married and moved out to centerville. Hope to see you around on some rides!
  2. Score 10 points for the onion. Chinese journalist 0.
  3. My wife showed me this e-card a couple of days ago and I til her pretty much the same thing.
  4. This is the truth! The guy at the dealership I am dealing with said its often better to buy new and if you're not careful you will pay more for a used one. I didn't believe him until I went home and started doing the research.
  5. I think a 2007 and around 80,000. The quote came because I'm pretty sure the guy was saying that every part you buy is expensive.
  6. My brother in law owns a tdi Jetta and he needed a new starter and went in to a parts store and they told him your better off just buying a new car.... And that seems to be the story with all VW. Exactly why the gti isn't on my list though my shortlist looks a lot like jbots including his mom.
  7. So test drove the 2 door wrangler last night and like BTD said I love it. Man I felt like I was driving a mini monster at times. The engine and 6spd. Manual transmission are great and to tell you the truth everything else is what you expect from a jeep but just a tad nicer. I'm pretty much sold. I couldn't come to a point of buying last night because of the price point being $4000 more than what I initially wanted to pay but hopefully if I'm Able to shop around a little more I will be able to find one closer to the price point I'm looking for. In the meantime keep your ideas coming. I may be going to test drive a 330xi this weekend depending on my schedule with family and such.
  8. Half of me wants luxury and half of me just thinks of the $'s to fix luxury in about 7-10 years.... But I love what BMW and Mercedes put on the table. I have a problem with a lot of luxury guys like Acura and lexus just building apon base models they have with Honda and Toyota. I know it's not just throwing on new bodywork and a different emblem but to me if I can go buy almost the same thing at a Honda dealership and spend $10-$15K less why am I going to go to Acura.
  9. I'll be test driving one tonight so we will se how it goes. And Brian is your FJ a 6spd manual? If so if I don't walk away in the near future with a new wrangler Ill hit you up about the FJ
  10. The 335i was on my list, and the three series I was leaning towards most. And I hate depreciation more than anything else as well. My only reason for buying new is if you get a great deal on a vehicle that has low depreciation. Aka the wrangler.
  11. Don't care, if it were you what would you buy?
  12. No! Agreed! Sorry still have zero trust in Hyundai or Kia. Worst build quality on the market. I talked my sister out of buying one a few months back.
  13. I'll agree with not buying a used turbo car BTD. I had my eye on a 335i and couldn't get get past used turbo. And I've had my eye the fr-s but couldn't get over the tinyness of it. I don't think I could fit a whole load of groceries in the car. None the less my music gear I haul everywhere. I would love to have one though. And it would be a daily driver for sure. And I could care less about comfort and all the big spiffy features. I just want something I can drive around town and not get tired of driving.
  14. So here's the deal, I'm in the market for a new car. I've been rockin' a 93 tercel for the last 3 years saving up for a new ride and I'm at the point now where I can buy. I'm all over the place with options and need some help. I'm looking at a new jeep wrangler tonight and been interested in used 3 series as of late but still can't nail down exactly what I want. I just want to opinions because like I said I'm all over the place. So what I want to know is what would you buy in this price range and why. $20000 is a vague number willing to go higher but that's a number I'm kinda set on for now unless I can pick up a great deal. Thanks for the input, E
  15. I will admit the deals aren't nearly what they were 10 years ago and it's a big made up holiday anymore. Thus the lines being 10x what they used to be and the deals being 1/10 of what they used to be. But I'm in dire need of a washer dryer set and that's the only reason I'm considering going to sears this year. I haven't been in three years and disappointed the two years before that.
  16. I know plenty of people on plenty of union lines and all of them have the same stories..... But I'm sure someone is going to pick up the recipes/machinery/rights to all of the iconic snacks that have been left by the wayside. I deliver to a place called American Pan in Urbana and they make the baking trays for all of hostes, wonder, and a bunch of smaller bake shops. They've been talking about this mess for the last couple of weeks and they've been saying that they've quoted a few other companies for trays and pans to make said iconic snacks.
  17. I'm with you I usually hate cities but Chicago is always on the map for me when talking weekend getaways. Great food, food and more great food. A ton of places to see and great activities as well.
  18. ive hit my share of smaller birds with my helmet cant imagine something as big as a vulture. glad you came out unscathed.
  19. ME is definitely número uno! If theyve created something worse than that I don't care what you pc junkies say you will never again have any reason to complain about an apple product.
  20. Never ask why, just laugh. Nobody knows what truly goes through jbots head, every once in a while we get a glimpse and have the privilege of laughing our asses off as a result.
  21. at first I saw the wet clutch cover in the video and I cocked my head a little. But then ame the lol's!
  22. I'll be checking on the price on this one come Monday. I've got a reminder on my phone already!
  23. Welcome! I'm near cenerville, and there's a good amount of us around north Dayton.
