  1. DATE/TIME CHANGE!!! See the end of this post for details

Who's down? This is the first step in getting a group/club together. We need to be comfortable riding together...and know what to expect.

First off, hand signals. These are important. Take a look at these:

    http://www.ridemyown.com/articles/safety/handsignals.shtml

If you don't know them all, don't sweat it. The most important ones are the turns, the hazards and the cop warning, which isn't on there, but it's done by patting the top of your helmet.

If anyone has a chatter box, let me know and I'll bring mine.

Knuckleheads need not apply. If we can open it up without drawing a lot of attention, that great. But if you are on one wheel going down I 90 then you are bringing too much attention to us.

All levels of riders are welcome, as well as all types of bikes. I'll try and find some back roads, depending on where we all meet up.

The goal is to meet around noon, and be back around 5 or so. Maybe earlier, maybe later. I'd prefer to do more riding than stopping...so plan on at least one food break, but not much more stopping than that except for gas.

GEAR UP PEOPLE! You might not care about road rash, but personally I don't feel like scraping you off the ground if you should go down. That's definitely a mood killer. I spent Saturday night at the AMA's cleaning up my dude's road rash....and he was geared up! I can't imagine what he would've looked like if he didn't have any protection on. All I know is, he still has the side of his face because of his helmet.

The weather is looking bad for Sunday, so we are going to try and squeeze this in TODAY @ 3PM. Same meet up place. Be forewarned, I have NOT scouted this route and I have no idea what to expect, other than route 511. Hopefully R1 can join us as he is the one who knows these roads. Expect some slowness when it comes to making the right turn at the right spot..it's hard trying to read directions while riding. Your patience is appreciated.

  2. I think I saw you last night! I saw some big dude with dreds in a grey t-shirt and I started to yell "Hey InyaAzz!!" But I had a split second to think about yelling something like that out and decided otherwise. LOL!! I was sitting with two other guys at the inside bar w/ the garage doors closest to the outside bar.

LOL I think I had a tank top on..probably was grey. I think there was one other guy with dreads, but he was younger and had a white bandana on. I was bouncing back and forth between that inside bar and outside. I went riding with the sport bikes when they took off a lil bit after the band stopped. I came back right before they closed down the garage bar.

Shoot me your email address and we'll try to hook up this thursday. It's supposed to be HOT so I might go a lil squiddly and wear shorts. I don't hit Sheffield till about 6:30-7:00 after work, so I'll probably go home and change first and get back to QSL around 8.

  3. OK. Two weeks from today sound good? Anywhere between 11 & 1? Dont know of a meeting place although I guess we could start at Quaker in Sheffield since I am sure everyone knows of where it is. A route will need to be chosen and I am not sure of anywhere other then to go. I will see if I can get some of my friends to ride along too.

Cool. I think Sunday works better. I will be in Detroit on Sat for a video shoot. I'm thinking the met parks for some scenery n curves. i dont know many places where we can open it up though.i'll keep looking.

I'm down at the AMA's right now. Watchin the pros makes me feel like a newb.

  4. Im good to ride on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I start school on Aug 20th and go Monday thru Thursday. My first available weekend will be Friday the 17th of Aug. I will be 3 weeks without riding so I will be willing to go anywhere at that point. :)

    I have a friend with a sportsbike and I think he has some friends with sportbikes....me?? I have a cruiser...but ridin's ridin......

Labor Day Weekend might be good riding for at least one day (gotta think of those with little ones).

That weekend is perfect for me. As far as Labor Day goes..I have to check my possesion schedule to see if I have kids or not. That shouldn't stop anyone else from getting together.

  5. Wow, you publically claim Checkpoint?

Ah, spoken like a true Cisco Engineer.

Nothing wrong with Checkpoint. I've managed many an infrastructure on all three platforms. The Cisco solutions tend to hand more throughput, but the Checkpoint installs seem to be easier to manage and more consistent across platforms. Believe me, my last two employers are pretty big and I've seen it all (good and bad).

  6. i am a tech so maybe we need to hook up plus i think you should start on the website first then get people so when you talk to them you can point them to the website. im me its spycount on yahoo.com

    I'm a techie too..network engineer (Cisco/Checkpoint/Nortel/etc).

The reason I am doing it this way is because the riding season is coming to a close..and it's quicker to use resources that are already in place (this forum). I want to get at least one ride in, maybe two or three, before committing resources to something new. Also, there is more exposure on here right now. If we get 10-20 people who like to ride together on an existing forum there's a better chance of reaching new riders then if we take that traffic over to a new/unknown location.

I will be looking for some help in the near future..so maybe we can exchange contact info via email. I'll keep you in the loop when I start to register with ARIN, get web hosting..etc. Thanks.

  7. Unfortunately I will be out of town for the next 3 weeks. I will be back in Cleveland next Friday night and flying back out on Sunday to Texas and the weekend after I will be in California. The next available weekend for me is the 18th and/or 19th or the 1st of Sept.

I will be free next Saturday day or night. I will be itchin for some riding time by then anyways. :)

I'll be riding down to Mid Ohio for the AMA's on Saturday..but if anyone else is lookin' for a ridin' partner on that day...speak up.

  8. Cool. I like how this is slowly coming together. i wish i could get everyone together tomorrow, but it's too short of a notice. Next week is the AMA, so that's out of the question. The weekend after I have my kids...but that's probably the only weekend coming up soon that we can do it.

How does everyone feel about Aug 11 (Sat) or Aug 12 (Sun)???

  9. you know, what wasnt a bad ride was thru the cleveland metroparks, the rocky river reservation to the south chagrin reservation. lots of turns. check out the route on the cleveland metropark website

I caged the RR reservation almost to the end a few weekends back for a picnic. Yes, lots of turns. I saw that route...does the Rocky River reservation run into the South Chagrin one?

  10. i live in Columbus just off of 33 north of refugee and south of 70. Currently free to ride wed eves through sat. Just need to know when everyone is riding so i can plan around keeping my daughter.

I have kids to plan around too, so I know the feeling. I'm compiling a list of names and available times for everyone.

  11. I've got a PS3. I haven't gamed much lately...waiting on some good multiplayer (Warhawk, Killzone 2, etc). Resistance was cool, but I got bored. I have been thinking about picking up Rainbow Six, since I played it on the PC and it was tha shizznit.

My PS3 tag is the same as one here, InyaAzz.
