got my bad dad parts in.. now the bike is starting to look like a bagger! got a really nice clean set of harley bags for a great price... got the bad dad rear fender, license plate bracket, bag brackets, and 4" bag extensions. i still need to get a backrest (bought on eon ebay.. guy said it was for a roadstar 1600/1700 and it wasnt) bike just looks amazing with the bad dad parts.. im getting excited now! i have to get the extensions molded on, get my exhaust extensions made, then make my cutouts for the exhaust to come out. still have to get the LED lights that will go inbetween the fender and bags make cut outs on the fender for the backrest to come through.. still a long way out, but its coming along nicely. when i got it... and how she sits now!

i just got these in the mail yesterday. Brand new never mounted Tsukayu Hardbags the model is "Stron", with upgraded billet latches, and billet Universal mounting brackets and lid gaskets. also these bags are carpet lined. These are in Primer ready to paint will pretty much work on any cruiser with these brackets. i ordered these took, almost 2 months to get, they are popular bags, and are made to order. i ended up going with a different set of bags now, so im gonna take a hit on these. These are $500 from them.. Ill take $400 here is a link to the exact Bags http://tsukayu.com/Strong.htm i can post pics of them if you want, but the link i put up is the same bags, but mine are in primer.

ok so i have wanted to build a bagger here for a while, and late summer i got a Roadstar 1600 to do it with. just a little update on some progress.. bike is an 01 1600 Roadstar, its got a nice set of 18" PM Wheels on it, and a air ride setup. anywho... got in some parts finally Cobra Crash bars Freedom Performance True duals Saddlemen Profiler seat and harley street glide front fender i already had gotten my Reckless fairing in and mocked up the stereo in it (clarion head unit, and polk DB marine grade speakers). i decided that the radio by itself didnt have enough power to be heard at highway speeds, so i ended up putting a 200 watt amp in there as well. i still have to make a bracket to hold it in there a little better, and drill a hold for the wires to run into the fairing. everything is just kinda loosely mocked up.. front fender i have to take off the stock harley mounting points yet, and make my own. pipes are kinda loosely fitted (i mixed the mufflers up lol, one on left goes on right and so on) im thinking about trying to adapt a Street Glide rear fender to the bike.. i have access to one, im gonna see how well it sit on there and go from there. my Tsukaya Hard bags will be in friday, so i can mock those up this weekend. as well as my cobra sissy bar if the street glide rear fender looks like it will work well, ill have alot more work ahead of me. if not, then after mock up ill tear the bike down and get stuff ready to go to paint. (Attack Painter is doing the paint work) the paint is gonna be pretty nice, i would describe it, but ill just wait until i get it done.. it will be better to just show pics! some other small things i gotta do is make a rear plate bracket, and im gonna do some kind of tucked brake/tail/turn lights that will pretty cool. also im gonna internal wire the bars, and add a front signal bar. i got alot of work either way i guess lol. the day i got it and the progress so far

yeah i think i beat that.. i ordered a set of hard bags November 26th... from Phat Performance Parts they are scheduled to deliver friday.. thats about 7 weeks.. i wish i only had to wait 12 days like you

harleys arent for everyone.. cruisers arent for everone.. sportbikes arent for everyone.. suzukis arent for everyone.. get where im going.. at first i hated harleys.. and didnt think id ever really enjoy a cruiser.. but the more bikes i ride, the more i ride different bikes the more i experience what they are all about. i love sportbikes.. the speed, the handling is amazing.. the rush is just incredible and unexplainable. touring bikes are great as well.. you get a decently comfy ride with the ability to still rail some corners.. and the technology that goes into them is absolutely amazing. cruisers are another breed. its like the hot rod of bikes.... they are more customizable. and the comfort is unsurpassed. your more in a relaxed position then in any other bike. Harleys to me are like a 60s muscle car. parts are super abundant, and they are more customizable then any other bike out there. they are mostly metal big ass sleds.. sure they arent the fastest thing on the block, but you dont buy one for speed. you buy one to cruise on, make it look they way you want, and make it sound good. i hate to say it, but there isnt another cruiser that sounds better than a harley. Yamaha is in second.. they sound great, but they are just missing a little something to make it perfect.

i have been listening to him for about 5 years now on sirius, but looks like Bubba and the crew couldnt work out a deal with sirius this time around. good news is they are now on internet radio. you can still get the show live and on replay, along with archives from previous shows.. check it out at www.radioio.com they have an iphone app, and are working on an android app as we speak. Bubba Army! Bubba Army!

i have the same fairing for my roadstar.. they are nice pieces, especially for the price!
-
looks great.. what did you paint the inner fairing with?
-
that looks good.. nice install.. you worried about rain on that radio at all? thats why i bought the marine cover.. and are you running an amp or just power from the radio? i thought about running a 200w amp, im not sure how well the head unit will be powering those speakers at highway speeds over the wind and exhaust also what did you paint that with?
-
got the stereo and speakers installed (mocked up).. waiting on my hardbags to get here so i can mock them up then send everything out to get painted.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHt3SNT10tE

what does everyone think about this? http://www.vhtpaint.com/barrelpaint.html

anyone painted a bike motor.. specifically a air cooled motor.. im wanting to paint the motor on the roadstar black, but aside from it being a pain in the ass to do, im wondering how well it will hold up to the heat, washing the bike, and normal wear form debris off the road and such.
