  1. Most dry kits are designed to increase fuel pressure via a solenoid that sends PSI to the regulator, or be injected before a MAF so that the computer will compensate some for the colder/denser air charge. wet kit is muuuuuuch safer. That being said, put a bigger main jet in so it runs on the rich side at WOT and have at it ?
  2. Finally!!! I'll be in touch
  3. No thanks. 2 bikes that serve completely different purposes is better fitting for me. It's too sporty to be comfortable on long hauls for me.
  4. Goldwing "tour" the goldwing is already a touring bike, why do they need a tour model. The goldwing is is an amazing bike.. but no matter what it is bland. I've tried to like them, but I just can't. There is nothing about it that excites the senses.
  5. Whatever the purpose you buy it for. The only reason i ask the question is because when you get in to the upper teens and lower 20k you get a bike fitted with premium parts, or already fitted with things you might buy such as additional luggage, navigation, heated grips, better wheels, etc.
  6. Interested to hear everyone's opinions on this subject. if you had... let's say $25k to spend on a bike, new or used. Would you opt for a higher end European/Japanese/Harley or buy something more moderately priced and make it to "fit you" all 25k goes to the bike, no saving for other sensible things.
  7. This is very true as far as dealer support. Harley's network of dealers probably outnumbers all Japanese dealers combined. This is great for touring. But I'd say reliability is about equal between HD and MG honestly. Harley has their issues, and as much as I like the bikes, never once have I set off on the bike and not thought about what may break on it. Luckily I've never really had an issues on long trips, as I service my bikes regularly, and always do pretty major pre trip inspections. Outside of that im a gluten for bikes that have their quirks and hard to get parts lol. I've shown interest in MG before, but I just never took the plunge, I really like the California. But happening across this model has sparked my interest big time again. I really need to demo one first. As the Ergos are important for touring duty.
  8. I love the Harley for long tours, and the wife likes it even better. Great storage, great stereo, great ergos for comfort, and it is well balanced for a heavy ass bike. but the Guzzi is just damn sexy, and the better brakes/suspension/ground clearance is one thing I wish the Harley had
  9. 37 degrees of lean angle in a bagger... yes please
  10. On this bad boy. Moto Guzzi MGX-21. I'm going to have to seriously go look at one and get a test ride in.
  11. Those tires should be 31F/26R hot. Are you running warmers? What cold pressure you starting with?
  12. Went to deals gap last week, here are a few pics
  13. Hell I pay $600 a year full coverage for my Harley and Aprilia
  14. I submitted my resume to transfer, same position I currently hold, but the way the company is structured I still have to apply. So now it's a waiting game.
  15. Move been looking at houses on zillow east and south of Smyrna, cost is roughly what I'm seeing here in outskirts of Marysville, so that's great. We would want something outside of the city for sure, no housing developments, a few acres of land, and not to far from a lake
  16. This is a pretty decent opportunity for us, as my company will assist in the sale of my home and help with relocation. My wife and I are are really thinking about it
  17. Reason I ask is because I have an opportunity to transfer to our facility in Smyrna TN, and my wife also can transfer her job to their facility near by.
  18. Pros and cons? Where did you live in TN? Cost of living vs. ohio?
  19. Those are sweet cars, fat pig of a car, but none the less, pretty sweet. I have been eye balling the ATSV pretty hard lately. Dont get me wrong, 900whp TT mustang is fun, but it's not drive everywhere fun, or run it through canyon roads fun.
  20. Right before we leave for our trip to deals gap my buddy decides he wants to put an exhaust on his FZ. I have already built one for my other friends FZ09 (who is also going with us), but this one was going to be a mid mount exhaust. He bought a universal muffler on Amazon, and after it arrived I got to work. I really wanted to do it all in stainless, but he is cheap, and time constraints being an issue I used what I had, which was some aluminized exhaust tubing. i cut the stick muffler off, and started making my pieces, I pie cut the pipe in places to make my bends. My goal was to keep the mid pipe close to the motor to give it a sleek look, and give good ground clearance. I managed to make a mount to use one of the stock exhaust mount points underneath, and for the muffler I dabbed a small bracket to be attached under the passenger peg. After it was finished up, I coated the section I made and we wrapped the pipe to help with heat. No issues with interference with your foot while riding, which was a key point for me when making it. Sounds really good for a $50 muffler.
  21. Finishing up the stand for my buddies FZ09. The pins were a little more tricky. Same guy machined them for me, but the right side pin was a small diameter. So for extra support I sacrificed a socket lol, I tig welded the cut piece of socket on to the pin. The pin sits inside the axel, and the sock hugs the axel nut. got the pins drilled for the safety pins, and welded up the side plates used for mounting. i still need to drill the hole and weld the nuts on the mount plates, then make the base. Then it will get some powdercoat. We will get to test these out very soon, as we are heading to deals gap Thursday morning.
  22. I have roughly $85, that includes hardware, and the cost to get the pins machined
  23. My buddies bike is stock gearing. it does have Traxxion Dynamics fork cartridges, Elka stage 4 shock, R6 radial master cylinder and braided lines. With that setup, the bike is perfect.
