i had alot of work into this car, about 20 hours total. inside and out. i wet sanded and then used my rotary and wool pad with some 3m perfectit III on the right door to get out the orange peel, it was just to bad for me to let it go. the rest of the car (and the right door after used the rotary) i used the porter cable with a Orange CCS pad with some Megs 105.. i had to make a few passes on each panel i did. i still only achieved about a 80% correction rate when i was finished. i didnt want to work any further to help preserve the paint. after that i used a white CCS pad and some Poorboy's World Professional Polish, this finished out very fine, and brought a nice gloss to the paint. i was very pleased with the outcome, even though i still didnt have full correction the paint was looking alot better than it did. I let Ice know how things were going and problems i ran into. setting up the final stage, i wanted to try and see if some glaze would help the car out at all... i tested it on a small bit and decided to not use the glaze. every car i tend to use a littlel different product for the wax/sealant, but for some reason with black the Meguairs NXT works really well, especially for somethign you can snag at autozone. i started with a single coat Megs #17, and then layed 2 coats of Megs NXT down. i then topped it with Optimum optiseal the wheels where sealed with Optiseal as well. sorry i dont have a ton of in the process pics, but time constraints and just not wanting to stop for a minute to take a pic caused me to not have any. but anyways here are some after shots

well here is the scoop.. a guy contacted me about getting his 95 Cobra detailed. we talked over some options and he explained it has been sitting for a few years in storage, and its faded, oxidized, lots of swirls etc.. i had my vision of what it would look like but to my surprise it was alot worse than expected. as you can see in the following pics the car is almost grey in color, though it should be black. tons of swirls, very harsh scratches, looks like someone took a brillo pad to it. also after further inspection i saw the car had some panels that were repainted. and someone didnt do the greatest job on the right door. i had alot of work ahead of me, and some stuff i just couldnt correct.

no nudes.. keep it civil here. also nothing retarded skanky and judging is up to whoever is doing the judging.. making it fair would be to put a poll up and everyone on the site gets to vote. so that way everyone gets to choose, someone could like the pic for the pic itself (it was taken well), or they like the bike in the pic, or they like the girl in the pic.

2010 Honda VFR1200 Spy Shots Yes, you’ve surely seen the stuff circulating in Europe about some official Honda photos of the much-speculated V5-powered replacement for the VFR coming in 2010, but these are actual shots of what is surely the U.S. version prototype undergoing field testing. Needless to say, the Honda personnel weren’t too happy about the bike being spotted, and they hurriedly covered it and rolled it up into a waiting box truck. The new bike is said to be a sport-touring mount powered by a V4 engine with displacement around 1200cc. It is claimed to have variable cylinder technology, allowing it to “turn off” two cylinders (presumably the rear bank) while cruising in order to save fuel. European publications are claiming that the engine will have power “approaching 200 horsepower”, but considering Honda’s corporate philosophy and the intended market, we seriously doubt it. 2010 Honda VFR1200 Spy Shots Obvious in the photos is the shaft drive/single-sided swingarm combination, along with what looks to be a 6.00-inch-wide rear wheel. The bodywork looks to have a slightly unorthodox headlight up front, with the fairing having a stepped channel running up the side presumably to help with radiator heat evacuation and keep engine heat off the rider. The exhaust canister also has some unique styling, with dual exits coming out of the cone-shaped muffler. The aluminum perimeter frame obviously looks pretty beefy as well. We’ll be posting more information as it becomes available. Stay tuned. http://www.leftlanenews.com/honda-v4.html http://www.sportrider.com/news/146_0906_2010_honda_vfr1200_spy_photos/index.html i cant wait for the actual production bike. i will for sure own one!

good call. pic on the intro of site as stated if your a chick and have a bike .. you get the detail if not... your most likely not on the site.. but if you are, your probably a girlfriend/wife of a member.. so then i guess your husband/boyfriend will have to reward you for winning him a detail lol.
-
so where is ben at in all of this?
-
ok next rule then.. i cant win lol or if i do then the detail goes to runner up. i still want to give a detail away to a winner
-
its just an idea to help the site out. if no one wants to do it then no big deal. but i figured id throw an idea out there and see if anyone would have been interested.
-
so i was thinking.. and Ben i wanted to run this by you as well, being its your forum. i want to contribute to the site, and i know im not a sponsor, but i will sponsor a activity for everyone. and this can get a cool idea rolling. this is the idea. basically a Babe of the year contest.. $10 entry fee (could be $15?) your bike and a chick post a few pics (or if your a chick with a bike your bike and you), some admins/moderators will pick the best picture of 3 submitted. (subject to change) start a thread with the pics in it and make a poll for everyone to vote on. let the poll run for say 2 weeks winner gets... since i wanna help out... a free detail from me (some of you ahve seen my work from the pics i posted up, some have seen it in person). value... possibly up to $200 (depends on the bike) and the picture on the front of the site saying "babe of the year winner" with a write up blah blah blah. runner up gets a t shirt or something.. out of this you could even do a calender from all the entries or some of the entries if they want them in a calender. basically id like to get something like this going to put a little money into OR.. hell it could throw a xmas party, a cook out.. etc. etc. plus i myself like the idea of seeing some nice bikes with nice ladies around them. (id definately be putting my bike and lady in this contest) my only rules id like is ... 1. good pictures.. not some cell phone camera image 2. everyone be civil about it.. meanign when pictures go up no one say shit like nice boobs, i wanna hit that.. or say anything negative about someone or there chick. 3. this be put together well (which OR seems to always put things together well. 4. all proceeds go to benefit OR.. either be site maintenance, throwing an xmas party, get together, whatever. so what does everyone think
