No, no mention of any kind of back surgery. Just possibly more to address his hand/wrist. I did finally get more details on the accident itself though. As I understand it the guy driving the car was busy....**drum roll**....texting multiple times while traveling in front of my nephew. Supposedly he was slowing down to text and then speeding up several times. My nephew grew tired of this and finally passed the guy. Well not very far was an intersection with a stop light where the light was red and my nephew stopped for it. Apparently the guy continued to text away and didn't notice the light was red and he just plowed into him. I have actually found video from a news report on the accident. Update 2: A little more info from late this morning: "In a lot of pain. Surgery on arm done...maybe more for wrist. Only a small piece of bone from 12th virtabre and is ok." That boy better be thanking someone upstairs when he starts feeling better.

UPDATE: Didn't get a call but got a text from my sister. She says he's torn up pretty good. Surgery on his arm obviously, some steel and screws for that. Bad road rash on his arms and legs. Left big toe dislocated. Don't know much about his spine yet but she was told he can move by the staff but she's not seen him move yet. He's in a lot of pain. She also said he has a scrape on his head but he was wear his helmet so not sure how that one got there. Will hopefully get another update tomorrow. Doesn't sound like he's going to be mobile very soon.

I was going to ask how the hell you knew you were running :11's when I passed you several times and I KNOW I was turning low :10's (almost :09) and :11-12's in traffic at times....I had my timer on in the afternoon.
