  1. I"m taking it this is on a hayabusa? Did you change both oil and filter? Did you check the level before or after starting it up? not to be a complete dick but are you sure you're checking it right?
  2. good catch, plus I noticed when Cavin posted up here he had updated his profile with his vehicle listed as Porsche I wonder if Jamie is going to keep the Supra or continue to sell it?
  3. So does anyone have any real information on this? Cavin is obviously selling the Supra, but I thought that Jamie was building a new one and wasn't really interested in getting his old car back? Maybe if the deal was good enough he would though.
  4. it's a shame to see him sell it so quick, but the GT2 (which is a 996) would sure be a hot ride to have. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84261
  5. what model Duc? if it's the 900SS in your avitar...I'd pass on track days with it.
  6. somewhat back on topic: Have you moved into your new building? (sorry if this was a while back, I've been out of the game for a while) I was under the impression that the dealership portion of the business was seperate from the parts business, is this still the case?
  7. 100th post...doing it just for the sake of doing it.
  8. it's a 996 man, get it right or pay the price...haha. It looks incredibly hot now that he got the H&R coilovers on it...dumped just right.

    Chain

A lot of people will have a brand preference, but all of the major chain brands make a good enough product that it'd be hard to tell a difference. Just make sure you stick to a o-ring chain and you'll be fine. I personally like DID, but I know people that always liked that "X-Ring" chain by RK.
  10. I've definately ridden that route many a time and took it back out to 73 (if I'm remembering correctly) and back into town. There's some great riding if you go up to the state park but DO NOT SPEED! the park rangers there are always on quite the power trip and will read you the riot act if they catch you speeding there.

    what is up

I can understand, it was just the curse of doing what you love for a living, and then letting it ruin everything.
  12. YES!...the Puch with the real gas tank (not a step thru) that made it look like a real bike. I remember taking laps around the block again and again on that thing.
  13. Yeah, that used to be me. I can understand how it could be a bit annoying at times now that I've grown up a bit. Glad to see you'll soon be a fellow Miami Alum for your graduate, so congrats on that. There are some really good road to the south, especially as you go toward Cinci.
  14. I used to steal my brother's moped when I was 13, and my parent's scooter when I was 15. Looking back, I'm not quite sure how I got away with that without being caught, but who cares. when I was 16 I got my first bike....a 1974 Honda XL175. It was an enduro dirtbike so it had turn signals, taillight, headlight and such to make it street legal. My parents got it for me as a christmas present from my friend's father that I planned on buying it from him that coming summer. The only kicker...it hadn't run in 12 years, and had sat with the same gas in the tank, and it was my job to get it going. Looking back that was kinda cool. To this day when I smell rotten ass old gas, it reminds me of that bike. I rode that baby for a little over a year on the street, knobbies and all, which is a good way to learn and keep your 16yr old ego in check since it topped out at 63mph tached out in top gear (even with a bigger sprocket up front). I sold it for $450 and to this day kick myself whenever I think about that, which I would have kept it. Next, I had saved up all my prescious pennies from my first "real" job that I got (summer after junior year in HS) and my parents gave me the last $100 I needed as a birthday present to buy my pride and joy....a 97 CBR600F3 that had been salvaged (laid down and somehow submerged in water). We went to Kentucky to pick it up from the salvage yard and brought it home. I worked a part time job and every penny went to rebuilding the F3, finally it was ready by the spring. I rocked that baby for a while, probably 3 years. All the while working to put new parts on it (working at a bike shop helped). After I sold the F3 (once again regretably) I bought my 636 new, been rocking it since, and probably will for a while since it's paid off and the way I want it, great track bike.
  15. where in oxford? I sure do miss my time there.
  16. Hello all, just stopping by to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I ride an 03 636. Unfortunately I didn't ride it too much last year since my job involved motorcycles and by the time I came home I didn't want to even think about them. New job this year so my hopes are up, plus I could use the gas mileage so I may start riding to work. I used to do a decent amount of track days, but took last year off to get into track days with my car. I'm hoping to pick that up again this year as well, so if someone wants to hit up a Mid-Ohio day this summer, just let me know.
  17. ^^I'm just going with the more popular notion that once finished, no one in columbus will be able to actually get through there, and everything will come to a complete stop daily because somone took a wrong turn and then stopped in the middle of the road with their turn signal on.
  18. I'd be careful going home as I went home for lunch and saw 1 blendon cop and a statie on the way back. I never speed through that construction on 161 anyway so it wasn't a big deal. BTW does anyone know what's up with the state cars that have the blue writing on the side and say "traffic control" or something similar on the side of them? I've seen them for about 6 months now, here and there. I first saw them on 23 up by Marion, then I started noticing them here. I've only seen them with tandem axle or bigger trucks pulled over, which perpetuates the story that I've heard that they're a subdivision of the highway patrol that just oversees truck commerce.
  19. yeah....I'm way to lazy for that, but it must be nice not sitting in stop and go traffic on 161 supposedly that project is going to be finished in 7 months or so *crosses fingers*
  20. ben, what time do you go to work in the morning? I travel the same beginning route as you in the morning (161 at Hamilton to 270 to 670 to cassidy), and I didn't see any. I'm sure it's possible that I could have just been completely not paying attention, but with that many around I thought I would have seen some of them. BTW I leave my house at 7:30
  21. John, thanks for the info. I think you made a good choice on the gauge and mirror.
  22. digging the street fighter 500. Definately doing the best with what you got John. Really like the mirror and would like to hear your impressions on it when you get some ride time in with it. ALSO, I want to know more about that gauge you got. What sort of wiring is required for it to make it work? Any shots of it lit up yet? That could be really handy for the super-moto project I've always wanted to do.
  23. depends on how he drives it. Mike is correct about the 6-puck clutch. It's certainly not going to shear off any gears or anything, but if he thinks he's a drag racer he'll tear the synchros out of it (which he could do stock as well) or bend a shift fork. DSM trannies in their stock form don't really like higher RPM shifting which is something to consider if he thinks he's going to be like Shep
