  1. if you go up and say you're there with the track day, you'll just have to sign the waiver and they'll let you in to watch.
  2. I may go up on the 7th. It'll be the first event for me this year (plus I took last year off) so I'll be knocking the rust off a bit. I'd be in squidro-mediate of course.

Did you get your suspension sorted out? This isn't the first time that I've heard of Thermosman putting in too soft of springs on his inital try. The good news is that he always stands behind his work with great customer service.
  4. There's nothing to be ashamed of by learning to ride on a 250 or 500, you just need to sit on a few bikes and see what feels comfortable to you. It's not of dire need that you be able to touch flat-foot, but it is very important that you're comfortable with whatever you choose to go with. You'll have a much better learning experience and general good time riding if you're not always worried that you're not going to be able to hold the bike up at the next stoplight.
  5. From reading the accounts of the other riders pulled over by him, I think you're correct, which upsets me. I would hate to see something on the news similar to what just happened in Maryland due to his agression of "catching" a biker who is "running" from him. As for the plate issue, we all know that when the plate is put in front of your rear wheel that you're pushing the limits of interpretation of the law, and that you're putting yourself at risk of being harassed and possibly ticketed for it. This should not come as a suprise.
  6. Zecho, did you ever fix this problem or are you still working on it? I would start with the simple things first, and my first inclination would be to check and possibly replace your plugs.
  7. Beer Pong (Beruit) FTW!! I was also a big fan of edward 40-hands
  8. sorry if it's a repost. This is a Budweiser commercial from europe that they won't show here, but it's hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWf-IUTSpQ0&mode=related&search=
  9. Jet kit my man...old school. Look up Dynojet, I'm sure they make one for your Katana.
  10. that gives me a better idea, thanks. I figured the stock 400SM might be a bit anemic, but i'm sure it wakes up nicely. I was thinking of the SM as more of a daily commuter/street fun bike, and as an addition to the 636 not as a replacement. As I've gotten more agressive with the spring rates and alignment on the 636 it's a lot less comfy to ride around town and I think a SM would be a great way to Banzi through traffic (obeying all laws of course  ). You do make a good point about the frenquency of valve adjustments on the true motorcross motors, which would get old on a streetbike pretty quick, considering you'd need to do them about once every week or 2. My only other concern is how to stay out of trouble with one!
  11. I want to hear more about the big-bore 400SM!!! How's the power with the mods you have on it? I've always wanted a super-moto for the street, but I've been concerned that i'll be less than wowed by some of the pre-packaged units available (unless i could afford to own and mod one of those new Aprillias that is)
  12. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84907 Congrats on the new car Cavin, definately a step-up in my opinion.
  13. if you plan on doing anything with them other than burnouts, DO NOT buy the take-offs from Mid-Ohio....bad bad idea
  14. what about wash down of the cyllinders from the water? Lack of oiling protection anyone? This has happened on cars that over-use water injection as well as when big power cars use WAY too much fuel. I didn't read the link because I'm toooo lazy, so I apologize if the answer was in there.
  15. http://www.capitaloneauto.com They'll give you a loan based on your personal credit history and not on the car. The only rate changes are based on how you're buying (dealer or private, new or used). You can get a fixed rate installment loan from them. The rates are a bit higher, but nothing crazy. I believe that they have a $7500 minimum as well though, so you may just have to work out something goofy there, but you can finance a 1960 Mustang if you want! BTW, completely awesome signature! I may have to steal that.
  16. SSSSHHHHHH....don't let the cat out of the bag!!
  17. ^^^ take the time to read it from the beginning...it's worth every second!
  18. It's a motocycle dealership in central Ohio. ASK= All sales Kawasaki??? ASK is an odd name. Is there a meaning behind it? Ackers Shithead Kompany? haha (since you're in Dayton, I'll explain that the dealerships are owned and run by the Ackers family) Edit: The blog is now back up and public...I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.

    Valve time

most shops will charge you 4 hours to do it. You will want to ask them whether or not they charge you for shims ($6-9 a piece for your Honda), some shops will include it, other's won't. For instance, Motorsports charges $68/hr but doesn't charge for shims, so you'd be looking at $272 plus shop fees/tax. If the shop you want to take it to charges you for shims, you may be able to offset some of the cost by buying a shim kit from Pony or the like for about $50-60, but make sure the shop will allow you to bring in your own parts first.
  20. speaking of which, I noticed that they locked it down and it's private now!! How do I get access to it? That used to be the most entertaining part of my day reading that!
  21. that's pretty scary stuff. on a lighter note: I'm suprised this hasn't happened at ASK yet.
  22. Can you give me a price for 5 quarts of HP4 and an MCJ oil filter? PM me if you don't want to post it up.
  23. Who's trying to buy it? Or are you saying you know Alfred Kobacker? Here's Alfred's new toy/adventure which will be quite helpful when trying to buy any stand. www.mcstands.com
  24. that's how I break in both cars and bikes. Broke in my 03 636 that way, and it pulled 112hp on the dyno with a pipe/filter/pc3...I'm not complaining
