  1. why, cause I run Mobil 1 in it? HAHAHAHAHA. unfortunately it's worth more to me than it's worth for sale on the market.
  2. while the use with the wet clutch is important another big difference is the shear resistance for use in the transmission. With the recent changes of reduced additives such as ZDDP in automotive oils it may make a difference. Motorcycle and "racing" oils do not fall under the govt restrictions to reduce those additives. Also don't forget that Mobil 1 makes motorcycle specific oils. Either way it likely doesn't matter, nor will it make any noticable difference that could be seen in the timeline that the average owner would keep/use a sport bike.
  3. make sure you use a motorcycle specific oil in it. in the 10 year of sport bike riding I never had one issue with Honda HP4 that I always used. This included using it over multiple track days in the summer. So I'd recommend HP4 and either a factory filter or the one Kenny suggests.
  4. thanks for clearing that up, I did not know that, just saw it on the site obviously.
  5. I hadn't read the second thread on the t-56 which is interesting. I sent a message to bobby (vincent RX7) about where he mentions having a FD tranny cryo treated and shot-peened to see if he had any results from it, but seeing as his car is for sale currently (bummer) I'm not sure if he hever went through with it. I guess i'm guilty of not doing my research on V8 swaps, but if you run a T-56 what are you going to do about the Power Plant Frame? Are you just curious about these options or did you have a transmission problem? Damian's setup is really cool, but not really an option for a street car.

def a good one. I must have watched it 10 times in a row and it got better each time. That kid made a hell of a sound when he hit the dirt!
  7. did he do the patina himself or buy it like that? I agree with Bob's future plans for the car BTW.
  8. Thought I'd let you know that PayPal raised their fees to 4%, so you don't find out the hard way after you've already negotiated payment on some of the bigger items. Sorry to see the car get chopped but understand that's the best way to get your money. Hope all goes well with the sale.
  9. I'll admit that was pretty funny
  10. that was one of the most entertaining run groups to watch the past 2 years I've gone just because of the wide variety of stuff racing at the same time.
  11. since this seems like the correct thread.....I have to ask a long-time question I've had. How do blind people know when they're done wiping their asses? Do they just do a set number of times and play the odds? Can you train a seeing eye dog to help you out with that....like 1 bark for keep wiping 2 for you're done?
  12. read the "warranty" stipulations and look at the quality of the site, should give you an idea on this snake oil. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1255193&fpart=1 taken from mentioned article http://neptune.spacebears.com/cave/syn-tolo.html
  13. Eric you're correct, but who's to say those clips were from his timed runs and not practice? It would seem to make the most exciting video they'd want to take the most out of control moments. You really only see about 3 "wild" corners thru the video, the rest are under control. He obviously did something correct to have won (not only at that event but took 1st in 3 others and a 2nd and a 3rd). I'm not saying the car didn't have a LARGE amount of credit there but I find it hard to believe that there wasn't any competition that would have been able to pull thru if he was that shoddy of a driver. Either way the video is highly entertaining and quite well made.
  14. definitely some good stuff put out by clash. I'm not really huge into the drift thing, but i think this was my favorite of his other car videos.
  15. both the car and driver are badass...some sweet 4 wheel drifts in there, but I'll be honest I was most impressed with the video. It's not often these days you see such a well put together video centered around cars and specifically time attack. I will now go waste some time watching all other videos from that guy.
  16. bump for you Ben, it's great to see you putting things like this together.
  17. Thanks for the help John, I did the same after I posted the question
  18. what outputs are there on the video card? edit: Nevermind I looked it up. Can I come see everything working before taking it off your hands? What's your schedule like?
  19. send a PM to Tinman on this board. He does simply amazing work.
  20. most of the track times are obtained when the manufacturer rents the course for events, so there is not any "offical" timing by an unbiased 3rd party such as a racing organization. There's video evidence, but porsche is claiming the use of different tires which you couldn't prove through an in-car video. Also, there's even been some questions raised to the validity of the "clock" used to mark the flying laps.
  21. FWIW I'm running Mobil 1 in my FD right now. It's....alright....nothing too crazy.
  22. yeah, a lot of people on the forums recommend it, but I have yet to talk to someone with personal experience. From the look of the website it seems as though Neo caters to the circle track crowd, but they could still have a great product, just not many people know about it.
  23. depends on which source you get it from. Wikipedia has the 997 Turbo as being faster than the GT3, while other sources such as FastLaps as the GT3 being faster. I think all the times on the track are pretty subjective anyway since there doesn't seem to be a standard to any of the testing. In the original article in this thread about Porsche testing it though they use both of their GT variants which are their track-oriented cars, whereas Nissan used the 997 Turbo which makes some sense as it's the closest price-wise. You'll never get a true concensus as to what it should actually be compared to.
