you're correct that HSBC are crooks, but at least I know they'll be able to cover my money if they're busy screwing other people Do I sense a couple upset Kawasaki/Suzuki purchasers here?

i'm interested in hearing more opinions as well. I'm looking at setting up an online savings account with HSBC Direct since they give the highest return currently. It'll be a savings account so I'm not really concerned about getting money quickly or at a branch.
  4. when I joined this forum I had a talon that was affectionately known as "Smokey the Talon" or Smokey for short....hence the screen name. Since then I've not really settled on any names for my cars since their models are usually short names anyway. The M3 we just call "The M3"...same goes for "The FD", although it's new enough that it may still have a name pop up this season that could stick
  5. welcome, I always thought that gen Prelude was good looking. Nicely put together.
  6. Andrew, Random question but sometime can I come sit in your Sparco Evo? I'm trying to decide on a seat for the FD.
  7. this is the only one I have of the FD, and I don't think I have any of the M3 http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/FDinterior.jpg
  8. I agree that it's a good idea. If we're being grown up though does that mean that I can't bring the FD? While I don't think we'll quite draw the variety (and net worth) of cars from the threads you posted, it'd be a great way for many of us to meet. When everybody is up at places like Quaker Steak it seems hard to meet people with all the commotion going on from other people.
  9. I definately want progress updates as we go.....oh...and I challenge you to a duel. Rotary vs Piston power....at Nelson. Or we could go to Mid-Ohio where your power will be more of an advantage
  10. wow, i can't believe it's been 12 years!! I'm very excited to see what will come out of this, but also worry that it'll be too little too late, and that fans won't come back like they plan.
  11. will do. Supposedly I'll have the payment for them early this week, but if not, i'm not going to wait on the kid.
  12. I'll agree with you there. I've been listening to it lately. I also like their older stuff too. I must have listened to "Sunburn" about a billion times during college.
  13. yes, i've heard of roll bar padding, and no, I don't think it's going to stop you from serious injury where your bare head hits it in a wreck. I've only ever seen a few cars where the cage could be tucked away far enough from the driver's head to be considered streetable.
  14. Putty, I will definately agree that The Chronic COMPLETELY changed the rap scene. I can still recite just about the entire album too, since i had that shit on TAPE! Doggystyle was one of the first CDs I ever had.
  15. welcome. What color is your car? I want to see pictures with the wheels. I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to put wheels on my wife's Mazda6 this year.
  16. all good choices, Boondock Saints is easily my favorite movie, but I didn't think it was that rare or "unheard" of. I will say that if you're going to mention Step into Liquid, you should DEFINATELY watch Dana Brown's second film Dust to Glory which is an AWESOME documentry about the Baja 1000. It's definately worth a purchase if you can't find it for rent somewhere.
  17. My wife has a Mazda 6 that is pretty much our "family truckster". It's an 03 she bought new and we just turned 86,xxx miles on it the other day. The biggest problem that we've had to fix so far was one of the mufflers rusting off which was a $60 welding fix. Other than that it's taken the abuse quite well. She has a 4-cyl auto. It's definately not fast but you won't get run over by traffic or anything. She gets around 22mpg city measured at the pump and as high as 29-31mpg on the highway.
  18. while his statements are not incorrect, you can never claim 100% truth on this subject (harnesses/cage/seats in street cars). Nobody has done enough testing to confirm a lot of the "truths" out there. Ideally you'll need to read up A LOT on the subject from multiple sources and not just take one person or company's word on the subject, then form your own opinion. Ultimately there are great solutions for the track, and for the street, but never one good for both. There is some risk calculations that you'll have to decide what you're comfortable with on your particular setup. To go ahead and start the fire, I am absolutely against full roll cages in street driven cars. Back-halfs or roll bars you can get away with, but anything that has a bar beside your head WILL hurt you in a wreck without a helmet on. I would much rather see people drive with fixed back seats and 3-pts (which I'll likely do in the FD this year) on the street and track as I belive that the theory of "the roof caving my head in" is a risk I'm willing to take.
  19. no, i wasn't kidding, and you're looking at just the surface. How are you going to bitch about sound quality then talk about Master of Puppets? They're both great albums, and also both great because it was a bit before they figured out their ending sound so you get to hear the growth over time. And Justice for All flows better than many of their later albums which is what I like and want to hear when I'm trying to listen and judge an entire album. Yes, they had better singles on other albums, but I still like listening to that entire album better than any of their others.
  20. for bike days, join up on Ohio Riders. There are quite a few guys that frequent track days at Mid-Ohio as well as other resonably close tracks. I belive a couple of them are instructors as well. Yes, it's time to put the integra on the track.
  21. agreed clearly their best work. As for me, one album that I can always come back to and never get tired of is actually Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic I've listened to many styles of music over the years and I can always appreciate this album, and most importantly the ENTIRE album which in my opinion is what it's about. These days it seems I find so many albums that are a few good singles with crap mixed inbetween.
  22. I do exactly that about 6-8 times a summer, and trust me it's just fine.
  23. Ben, let us know what comes in it
