  1. 6-bolt/4-bolt combo is getting harder to come by these days. free bump for you.
  2. free bump for you buddy. Even though I'm completey without the means to buy the car right now, you want to give me a ride in it? You know I'm a big FD fan.
  3. woah woah woah../sorry I'm late to the party...but let's not confuse Motorsports and Classic....unfortunately Classic Cycles is gone, and Motorsports is a much different shop. That being said, Motorsports actually has a pretty competent service dept that could easily handle a valve adjustment on your bike. Go in and talk to Drue about what you want done and what all it involves. If he's not working there anymore by the time you get there....leave. I was a bit worried when I heard that the long time service manager of Northwest left last year, but I haven't heard any horror stories since, and they're a very well run shop with a good history. I'd also check out the powerstore in Marysville, and see which shop gives you the best feeling.
  4. 3000GT shift knob in great shape. Good weight and feel. - $20 http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/IMG_0556.jpg http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/IMG_0555.jpg Turbo XS high performance manual boost controller. Dual ball and spring control for coarse and fine adjustment. Sorry, but I can't find the allen key to go with it, but you can buy one cheap. - Sold Autometer sport comp A/F gauge, recalibrated to only come on at 3/4 throttle and above. As we all know this is not to be used as a tuning tool, but merely as a cost effective check to know if something has gone seriously wrong. - $40 http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/IMG_0534.jpg

    NFS: Pro Street

thorne, let me know how you like it for the Wii. I've heard a couple complaints on the interaction with the Wiimote, but I'd definately be interested in the game.
  6. while harley isn't experiencing the exponential growth that they saw in the late 90s and early 00s, they're not going anywhere. I think you'll see a few of the weaker dealers fade away. Dealers won't be able to get over sticker for many bikes anywmore, nor will they have 2 year waiting lists....but Harley isn't being bought by a bowling company anytime soon again
  7. welcome fellow e36-er. While I'm not a big fan of the tan/wood interior combo it looks great for the mileage. Look up "Leatherique" on bimmerforums for an idea of what you can do for the seats. you easily have a cleaner engine bay than my car....has me a bit jealous. now....lets start talking about getting some track mods!
  8. until you sell to me that is!! http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=152209&highlight=gold+hre here's the wheels I have planned for her when she's mine, and my motivation to go gold now. I would also 1+ on getting the originals on a CD, just keep us posted on what needs to be done there compensation wise. Thanks for the heads up on the track days, would you require hazard pay if we had you ride along with us for some shots? haha.
  9. yeah, I guess I just need to drag my ass to wheel medic or whomever I'm going to have do it and figure out a couple of the details. There are a couple hurdles such as it's a one piece wheel, but has "bolts" to look like a 3 piece, and I'd like to keep those black, and I'm not sure if that can be done with a powdercoat process. Then there's the whole issue of getting my cheap ass to pay for it.
  10. that 996 sure does take some nice pictures. Ben, I'm definately thinking hard about the gold wheels. I've been considering it for a long time. I'm thinking about powdercoating the centers of my current wheels the lighter BBS gold. So Kevin, what's it take for you to come up to Mid-Ohio or Nelson when Andy and I have a track day to get some "action" shots?
  11. haha. I've been meaning to paint that front grille on my bumper black, thanks for letting me know how it'd look. Gotta do that this summer. It was great meeting everyone and the shots came out GREAT. I've been dying for some good shots of my car. After seeing Ben's car in person it's really making me want to follow through on my idea of gold centers for my wheels Thanks again Kevin.

    I feel old

first of all big wheels were and will always be AWESOME. My brother actually won a BMX bike in a big wheel race when he was a kid! I think that any kid that doesn't get a big wheel is completely deprived. On the music front, you guys are completely forgetting the 80s where there were nothing but pop one-hit-wonders and yes a bunch of them were completely WEIRD music with the advent of pop-synth. The big difference today is the availability of music to the masses. Since it's easier to put some crappy video on youtube and a song on iTunes than it ever was before to put out a song there's a TON of crap out that wouldn't have been out before. When I think of having children and how the world is constantly changing it's completely scary....BUT, don't you think that's the exact thing that happened to our parents? Don't you remember being young and thinking that your parents just didn't get it, and they must be from a completely different world and time? Well, what happened is that they grew up, and it's happening to you too....it's a completely wicked curse that's really funny from an outside perspective.
  13. well, I think I decided that it'll be a good purchase and Christmas gift, so Mike if you want to sell yours let me know.
  14. thanks for the replies. I've been worried about if I'd play it or not on my own. I know it'll be kickass in a party setting. I guess one of the things that I liked about it was the ability to play some games that actually aren't that deep an involving. I don't really have 3 hours to sit down and play games every day like I used to. But on that same edge, I also wonder if that'll eventually lose my attention. I guess if I don't like it, there's enough of a demand that I can sell it for pretty close to what I bought it for.
  15. also, I guess I should ask which games to get if I do buy one? I'd consider marioparty, sports, and raymonds raving rabits since they look like fun multiplayer games.
  16. thanks for the quick response. Are wii play and sports that different? They kinda sounded like the same thing to me? I do agree that the appeal seems to be that almost anyone can jump in a play without being intimidated, so it'd be really fun to have when family/friends come over. I guess I was thinking of playing MarioParty when I was thinking of 4 controllers since I think everybody would need one for the mini games. Do you have a nunchuck? Do you need it specifically to play some games, or does it just help? also, does the wiimote already have 2 parts to play games like boxing? or is that another bought attachment?
  17. My wife thinks that she wants a Wii for Christmas. I would like some opinions before making the plunge. I've played one BRIEFLY, and it was pretty fun even though you eventually realize that you only need to make small wrist movements and not the full arm swinging motions they would have you believe on the commercials. My main question is....are you still happy with it? How long have you had it, and did some of the fun factor wear off? One of my main concerns is whether or not i'll remain interested in it long term since all of the games seem a bit "kiddie" oriented. I've never been a big first person shooter gamer (well...not since GoldenEye anyway), but I have always liked mature oriented games. 2nd part of the question is that if I do decide to take the plunge, what else do I need to get with the system? I realize that everybody offers "bundles" but they seem to offer a bunch of crap I wouldn't use. I would assume that I'd want 4 remotes, but how many nunchucks would I want? Other than stuff like DDR would I need specific controllers for specific games? There's so much crap out there that it makes your head spin. I also realize that there are some challenges buying just the system but I seem to have a line on an availability to get what i want. mods, if this in the wrong section please feel free to move.

    2007 YZF-R6s

uh oh....everybody seems to be upping their track-going game this year. I think it's time for me to start hunting for a new set of track wheels and r-comps

    Pandora

listen to it every day during work. It's a great way to listen to a particular style of music while keeping things fresh with a variety of different artists. Highly recommend it for anyone that listens to internet radio regularly.

free bump for you. Who's C4?
  21. when I had a carb'd bike, I would just put Stabil in the tank and run it for a few minutes to get it into the carbs. Then I'd start the bike up in the garage every week or so and let it get up to temp and I never had a problem. Don't start it up if you're not going to get it up to temp though. The option that most shops will tell you to do is to put Stabil in the tank, run it for a bit, and then drain the float bowls on each carb. There's a screw on the bottom of each bowl that'll drain it out. This is the safest option and the one you should do if you won't want to start it during the winter. You can take the battery out if you really want, but a tender will be just fine. Cold kills batteries, but if it's in a garage it should be fine.
  22. I don't believe that the STS design is intended to be the most efficent or highest power system out there. Would a properly designed bottom-mount turbo setup make more power on just about any car? VERY LIKELY! BUT, what I believe to be the draw of the STS systems is that they're pre-made kits that are relatively simple to install and use and make good power. Most importantly they do it for CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!! If I had a LS1 camaro it'd be really hard to talk me out of a turbo kit for $4K. On the other side, if there is not a pre-made and inexpensive STS-style kit for the car you currently own, you would be wasting time and money trying to put your own together.

wheel medic is your best bet there. They're a sponsor here, but I don't know the account name off the top of my head. I'm sure someone will.
  24. hrm....for a good start track car I'd say look at an e30 or e36. Might require some compromise on condition to fit in the $4K budget, but they're both competent cars that with suspension mods will handle with just about anything out there. after you've gotten it handling the way you want it and save up some scratch, you can either go turbo, or you can do a LS1 swap in the e36. Unfortunately you're not going to find anything that'll go 150 on the back straight for ANYWHERE near the money you're talking about. My 636 wouldn't get there in time. going 150 in a car at mid-ohio is WAY FAST. I think you should start with a competent car that'll handle and then build from there. I'd suggest doing a miata but I think you're looking for a bit more motor.
