No, if you're going to try to be a walk-on there's no need to be geared up for the class-room portion (unless there's a long 1 day session I'm unaware of). As mentioned the riding portion requires long pants, long sleeves, gloves, helmet, and over the ankle footwear. If you've been riding already I'm hoping you have gear. When I went to try to walk-on there were 6 others trying to walk-on and 5 no-shows. Only 1 person didn't get in.
