  1. LoL, I wish that worked. But they just don't have that sense of humor any more. Bastards Last year they had us using 4 wheel drive vehicles picking up people at home that lived close enough. Sucks that I moved closer to work and even if I called in due to weather they would come and get me.
  2. OSU is closed...and open Unfortunately, I am considered "essential" personal and I had to drag my arse into work. Nothing like having to get up an extra hour early only to come in and be bored to death since no one else had to come!
  3. I checked those boots yesterday at IP. The boot seemed ok and fit alright, but the little plastic cables/strings seemed very easy to break. They were maybe 1/16inch thick clear plastic and with wear and tear I could see it poping.
  4. Thanks for all the input from Liz/Aaron. I went and got a EXO-700, A-Star GP Plus Gloves and A-Star S-MX R boot. I'm still kicking back between a lot of suit's. I really have no clue anymore on what I want/should be looking for. I didn't think about the external armor issue till you brought that up Liz, but that was a good point. That and if it rains, its going through the vents and onto me.(not that I want to get caught in the rain...but it may happen.) Anyways, I'm going to pay what I bought off today then wait a while and see what happens for 09 gear. I talked to IP about the TCX boots and I was told that it would have to special order only and they were not going to carry them. I figured it was safer to get something I could switch/trade if they didn't fit right.
  5. Thanks for the info, I was planning on buying most of this from IP. The helmet, I just haven't seen anywhere else, which made me rather suspicious. If its a new for 09 helmet...fine, but I would have expected to find it on another site or somewhere(which I haven't). I'll take a look at the site and see if I can find anything on there I like.
  6. +1 I've used the lower cost battery tender for 2 years now. I has 2 different types of adapters and the wall plug in has a red/green LED to indicate if its charging or if the battery is good.

    Gear review

I want to give a big thanks to those that have offered advise and help in my gear choices. I have pretty much figured out what I want to get this year, but I'm still willing to take some minor suggestions or changes. My primary riding with be street/Hocking and 2-3 track days a year. Alpinestars CR 1pc Suit Scorpion EXO-700 (vs 400) Alpinestars S-MX 5 WP Boots-Black Alpinestars GP Plus Gloves Knox Ricochet Back Protector?? Helmet I am between a solid black helmet and a new one that I have only found on kneedraggers. http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Scorpion_EXO700_Full_Face_Helmet_Predator_Black--642070.html I'm not sure if this is a new helmet or what the deal is, so if anyone has inside info, I'm all ears. Also, up for changes on the back protector. I'm trying not to break the bank on this, but want something that won't be trash in a year.
  8. The money, benefits and get to meet some cool people. I get to take 7+ weeks off a year, can retire in 22ish years with some serious $$. I get to have fun at work for the most part, but also get a lot of crap that makes me wonder wtf I was thinking. (getting sued is fun!).... But at the end of the day, its what I always wanted to do and feel good about it.
  9. +1 for Reconrat I got the Antivirus 2009 "virus" earlier this year. I tried using SB and it just shuts it down and does not clear off the Vundo Trojans/Blockers/etc. I will block your AV software and any internet sites like Microtrend etc. I had to get malwarebytes and it was the shizzle of cleaners. I basically did what he has already stated. Restart into "safe mode" (F8 when booting up). If you try to run it from the regular install name, it will block it..so change the name (ihatethis.exe). Install and run a full scan and clean off what you can (112 files for me). I then restarted into "safe mode, with networking". Ran Malwarebytes update and then another full scan and clear off more (69 files for me). Then into regular mode to the desktop and run another full scan. From there, I got a few registry and file corruption issues, which I got fixed for the most part with help from a friend. These virus's can be very nasty and I have gotten several friends asking me for help also.
  10. Glad I could help, done working on the house and surfing the forms. Time for bed! Gratz on the new toys and let me know if ya need anymore help.
  11. Alright, download the software from above. I took a guess you got a Power Commander 3 USB? If not don't use what was in my previous post.
  12. Shouldn't be in a folder, you should just get the .djm file for the pc3 program and double click it. It should loadup instantly, so the question is do you have the pc3 software installed? Just trying to troubleshoot for you. http://www.powercommander.com/powercommander_iii_usb/downloads_general/pciiiusb_software/complete_install/PC3Usb%203.2.1%20Setup.zip
  13. Just clicked and downloaded it here no problem. I am using firefox. I checked it in the PC3 program and it has all the proper values changed. If your having problems, I'll host it for you to download as follows: http://files.filefront.com/M407+901djm/;13052071;/fileinfo.html
  14. So I finally went and tried a few things on yesterday. My questions for anyone that may know: I tried on a Astar RC-1 suit in a 58 euro. It fit great! but I plan on only using a suit for spirited countryside riding and a occasional track day this year and I'm not sure I want to spend $1k on a suit alone. I ended up looking around and like the new CR suit in black with minor white, but since there wasn't a 58 to try does anyone know if it fits the same or +/- sizes? I also tried on Astar SP-1 gloves and found out I was a 3XL!? Since most of my other gloves were XL that seemed odd. I am looking to get some Astar GP Plus but wanted to double check if they would be approx the same fitting size as the SP-1's. I did a little searching last night, but thought I would probe the minds here.
  15. So what are you all going to burn your returns on? Me, I have been looking for new gear and bike upgrades for the 09 season. But, I'm looking for opinions on the items I have picked. I'm looking for info on better deals or equipment from persons that have used or know of issues (positive or negative) with what is below. Galfer SS brake lines-Black- $100-150 Motovation Frame Sliders (No Cut)-$130 Shift SR-1 Black/Silver Suit-$899 Shift SR-1 Gloves Black/Silver-$129.95 Scorpion EXO-400 Rebel Matte Black Helmet-$169.95 Alpinestars S-MX 4 Boots,-Silver(Black/Silver)-$199.95 Is there any reason to get the Galfer Superbike vs Standard SS brake lines for street/commute and maybe a trackday or two? I know about the sliders cut/no cut so we'll skip by this one I know Aaron has a great deal on the Astar SG-1, so I am between that in Black and the Shift suit...which I find to be more appealing cosmetically. And matching gloves. Helmet, I currently have a 5 year old Vega helmet. Its got plenty of scratches and scuffs from dropping it a few times on the rear from about 3-4 ft high. I don't want to break the bank on a Shoei, and none of the Arai's really caught my eye. Boots, I was looking for something matching but a starter set for spirited rides and track days. I'm open to option on this one.
  16. Yeah, I saw that video last year. Thats crazy and extremely stupid/lucky!
  17. If you guys want the phone # for my guy at fifth third, pm me for it. Guy was really nice and helped me get the best deal I could back when I got my house. He ran it about 4 different ways and explained the differences to me. Now I just need to get this going before they change again. Long Link but 5/3 rates: https://www.53.com/wps/portal/!ut/p/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykssy0xPLMnMz0vM0Y_QjzKLd4r3MwbJgFi-LvqRyCIG8W4-6CKO6AKeAXARX4_83FT9IKBMpDlQxNjUUz8qJzU9MblSP1jfWz9AvyA3NDQ0otzb0VFREQArQvpw/delta/base64xml/L0lJSk03dWlDU1lKSi9vQXd3QUFNWWdBQ0VJUWhDRUVJaEZLQSEvNEZHZ2RZbktKMEZSb1hmckNIZGgvN19CXzM1SS80L3NhLnNwZl9BY3Rpb25MaXN0ZW5lcg!!?PC_7_B_35I_spf_strutsAction=!2fLoadMortgageRate.do#7_B_35I
  18. I called my guy at 5/3rd. I am currently at 6.808 and he told me 4.875! Needless to say I'll be getting that started tomorrow. A co-worker also did his down to 4.871 or something...cost around $800 he said, which he had tossed into the mortgage.
  19. First thoughts from the video. Cops screwed. My second thought was, where was his taser if he had one? Not in the mindset that he should have used it, (which probably would have been ok), but did he mean to grab for a taser...instead of the gun(which he grabbed). If this is the case, it sucks....but what happened...happened.
  20. From working with GPS's myself, I can say that they are not as accutate as you would hope. I have driven with different models and they both were off by 2-3mph. It changes due to elevation changes, satallite signal ect.
  21. I got a Speedohealer V4 last year w/plug n play harness and had no problem installing it. The hardest part was getting my true speed. I ended up pacing a new Honda Accord with a digital readout and found out I was 7% slower around 65mph. Took the tank cover off, lifted tank up and hooked it all up. Ran the wires along my PC3, the directions they come with are ok and after reading a few times I got it worked out. Used their calculator for the % error to enter and got it set up. Wasn't hard to do at all, but I took my time and did things right the first time.
  22. Also might want to check the expiration date. They do have one Not to say that they won't work after it, but not as effective.
  23. I went out about 3:30 to get some mail out and buy some stabil since I had not gotten it yet. Was definitely a good time for december!
  24. Its the same concept, but goes about it differently for more $$. Its basically a very small router with all the drivers/software inside it vs having to set it up yourself. (which is easy) The wireless bridge is what I use. It comes in via the coax cable into the cable modem, then into a wireless router(which I have upstairs). From there you activate your wireless network within the router with a name/password so that only you know what it is (otherwise outside people will leech your net). From there, the signal goes to my other router (downstairs for me) and you take a standard ethernet/cat5 cable from the second router into the Xbox. Its hardwired to the router, but the signal/internet is wireless to it from the other. Its still very fast and I have had no problems with it thus far on Live. Took me maybe 5 minutes to setup. I used (2) Linksys WRT54GL's with Tomato firmware. If you want more info on this, shoot me a pm/em and I can try to walk you through it. Wireless routers are cheap nowdays, and ethernet cable is also if you don't have some. www.monoprice.com for about anything.
