  1. Off on Mondays, come September Mon/Tues.
  2. Good to hear about that about him. From my understanding, Grant is the #1 trauma hospital in Ohio so everyone tries to go there. But they have to split it on incoming to like 2 to Grant, 1 to OSU, 1 to Riverside I believe so they don't get flooded with people.
  3. Thanks to all for the awsome ride and coming out/meeting you all. Best wishes to those less fortunate. Got my 3hrs sleep and to the grind!
  4. Thanks to 2 call offs on dayshift, I'm probably going to get boned at work till 3pm and miss this. I have much h8 for those guys. Will be making calls for replacement. Edit** Got a guy to come it at 8 or 9 so I hope to be at the gas station at 10.
  5. PM'd you Jester for some assistance.
  6. 3x in the last month, I've had a set of 2 baby and 1 Mamma Racoon walk out in front of me on the way to work at night (3 seperate places on same road). First time was in a corner going about 35 and I split them by an act of god. Second time I evaded left and the third time I split them almost creaming the baby at about 65. I've since slowed down on this road till I get to 33! But for full terror, best was a car merging into my lane with a garbage truck on the left. Slamed on the brakes and went back. Was some girl yacking on her cell phone /sigh!
  7. Since I am bored at work, I went through the thread and here is the line up as best as I could figure out on whos going: ?=Questionable on going Satan yotaman88210 Cleaner max power? 01929rr OGs750? wolfman Earache SJC600rr ninjack08? 8. Went to a friends and parked the ole 600rr in the street. Kickstand acted like a hotknife in butter on the old asphalt. In 10 minutes time...blamo on the left side. Luckily it was only minor damage and scratches. Now I carry some $.40 galvanized steel 4 inch electrical plate covers that work perfectly.
  9. Might try to make some of this as its not far away though I'll have to head out early with work that night.
  10. Welcome to the site, I'm another one from Lancaster. There are a lot of places you can go to from here. As I'm sure you'll find you.

    July 4th Ride

Looks like a big storm is coming and will be here around 9:30-10ish, I'll probably just hit the bed with that thing on the way.

    July 4th Ride

I'd be game for this pending we aren't out too late since I get off work at 7am. I'll keep an eye on the weather!
  13. Welcome to the boards! Just take it slow and learn as you go and invest in some decent gear (Helmet, Jacket and Gloves). I have some great places down near Lancaster, but thats 35-min south of campus. I typically ride in the afternoon/evening since I work nights at OSU. I'll keep an eye for your bike when school starts up.
  14. Getting into more technical, check all the fuses. I did some wire work on my old one and blew one and had many of the same problems. Replaced the fuse and fixed.
  15. I use progressive and go monthly which enables me to change the policy at any time. I drop the collision off in the winter and keep my comp on so I have no break in insurance. State farm is by far the cheapest for bike insurances overall for year round coverage.
  16. Welcome to the board, GL find a bike that you find to your liking. I live down here also and just found a empty church parking lot for about 2 hours and slowly worked my way up. But a MSF is a better option looking back. When you get more comfortable you can head out to the BMV "Liberty Center" and practice the motorcycle course test after hours. I did this multiple times and only had the police show up once as it was like 1am (oopps!) It can be difficult with a sportbike, but I passed it my first go. Let us know how things go!
  17. Welcome to the boards! I'm another one from Lancaster, so we have a lot of different directions to ride from here. Its almost prime imho!
  18. Nate pretty much hit things on the head. Columbus has a "city code" on those colored/neon lights so you want to stay away from those. State Codes: 4513.04 Headlights Every motorcycle shall be equipped with at least one and not more than two headlights. 4513.261 Vehicles to be equipped with electrical or mechanical directional signals. (2) No person shall operate any motorcycle or motor-driven cycle manufactured or assembled on or after January 1, 1968, unless the vehicle is equipped with electrical or mechanical directional signals. (B) “Directional signals” means an electrical or mechanical signal device capable of clearly indicating an intention to turn either to the right or to the left and which shall be visible from both the front and rear. © All mechanical signal devices shall be self-illuminating devices when in use at the times mentioned in section 4513.03 of the Revised Code. City Codes: 2137.16 Number of lights permitted; limitations on red and flashing lights. ©(1) Flashing lights are prohibited on motor vehicles, except as a means for indicating a right or a left turn, or in the presence of a vehicular traffic hazard requiring unusual care in approaching, or overtaking or passing. (e) No person shall drive or move any vehicle upon any street or highway with any light or device thereon displaying a blue light, or alternate red and blue flashing light mounted on such vehicle.
  19. Its really up to you mang, but ya definately have to slow down between logan and CW..its brutal.(I'm from lancaster, i know it well).. I know of some people that go and ask for fine/no points speed. That basically means you pay the fine, but get no points on your license. And cops don't always have to appear at all the court dates. If your meaning court as the date on ya ticket, thats your arraignment(you are asked to plead guilty/not guilty/no contest). Cops are only needed for a trial or pretrial hearing or supression hearing on evidence. You might be able to get your speed knocked down since it was a pace thing. They say cop cars are "calibrated" but you can always ask how far was he behind me to pace, was he closing at that speed? or was he even "trained" to pace people. Most things don't hold up in court unless there is evidence or training to back up the charge. Just some idea's I'm trying to toss out there....but regardless....slowing down will always prevent these situations from happening
  20. Holy cow! I've hit lots before, but that takes it to an ALL new level. Jebus!
  21. I went there last month, was a great time with a friend. When I went they only had 1 instructor so we had to go up seperately....which made a breif lull in jumping. That and when I took the dive, it was 22 Degrees outside......my face hurt! Other then that its easy and a great time. Show up, watch a video...spend 10 min signing your life away..basic instruction on what you do to exit the plane and GG!
