    Ride! 9/2/07

You win... My bike sucks... It doesn't run right... It's twitchy at speed... I've got like 4300 miles on it and it's broken down 1000 times... It's nothing more than a sportster with a different chassis, heads, cams, pistons, crank, etc, etc, etc... It's underslung exhaust was copied off of Suzi who only decided to put it on there a few years after Buell stole the idea... The brakes suck, it doesn't handle worth a piss, it won't wheelie, and it catches on fire every few miles... Your infinite wisdom and articulate posting has me in total awe of your greatness... Especially since you know so much about so many bikes from mearly passing them on the street... Most people base their decisions on hands-on knowledge... What a bunch of retards!!! Watch out folks, the great one has spoken...

    Glock 27

I bought my bike in Mentor... 2 hours away if you are running Ludicrous Speed.
  3. No shit you are! lol My exhaust, stock, can be heard at 200 feet.
  4. Same bike? http://ohio-riders.net/showthread.php?t=5572 Got pics?
  5. Dude started out the thread calling people out 'who think they are fast' and establishing it as a fast ride. The simple fact that he was calling out 'anybody with a liter bike' tells me that egos are going to fuel the way the ride plays out. The deeper the conversation went, the more my suspicions were validated... Not my scene... and judging by the responses in that thread and the PM's I have been receiving, it's not everyone else's scene either. If that's your scene, cool. You are just looking for reasons to be pissed off... There are two guys coming for sure that I know are fast(er)... hence, 'a couple fast guys'... There are two other guys who have expressed interest who are 'slower' (self-professed as I have not ridden with either of them before)... and one gal who may be there on a 250 Rebel... 2+1=3... a common way to reference 3 is to say 'a few'. I guess I could have stated 'a few slow(er) guys/gal", but that just would have been grammatically awkward... Bottom line... for everyone... You want to ride with those guys... Have a good time. You want to ride with me, have a good time.

Unlike you, I am not trying to prove anything... I am stating a fact from my personal experience... not mindlessly posting drivel sourced online. I would never ride with you... I ride for fun, not to prove to anyone anything... I guess our motives are just different.

JD Power... ah yes, cause we all know there information is always so accurate... "The Rest"? That's your source? You do recognize that 'the rest' can also include areas in which people didn't vote right? Not to mention the fact that their surveys have been proven to have been influenced in the past by manufacturers... Hell, they don't even all ask the same questions!!! Even with all things equal, those reports are so subjective they are worthless... Where's that sheep smilie when you need it??? The RR engine and the one in my bike are completely different... If you want to argue that the RR shouldn't be allowed to race because it's nothing even close to stock, I'll agree... But you are comparing two different engines son. You're edjumacation must be bester then myne. Yeah, I wanna ride with you... I'd rather staple my nuts to my forehead... I know 5 people who own Harleys 10 years old or less who have a combined total of about 300,000 miles on them... No major issues. Routine maintenance is your friend. I've also seen many threads on many boards about GSXR frames snapping, R6's blowing cams, etc, etc... However, I am smart enough to not base my decisions off of information that begins with, "I know a guy, who knew a guy, who had a kid that was dating this girl who's father read on the internet that..." or "despite the thousands of people who have had no issues, there was this one guy who had a problem so..." True dat. I bought my bike after considerable research. It's a bike that fits me, my style (riding and otherwise), and I wouldn't trade for anything... It does what I want it to do and does it well. Maintenance is nothing and it's all grins every time I ride it. Bottom line... Arguements like this are like wrestling a pig... Everyone gets dirty, and the pig LIKES IT.

And the award for the uneducated dumbass statement of year goes to.... rockybalboa! Congrats, you're wrong!
  9. A coupe that aren't listed on that link... 518, 644...
  10. Check it. http://www.motorcycleroads.us/oh.html#ap
  11. Finalized plans will be posted on 8/31. Post up or PM me with suggestions.
  12. With some of the dissention going on with the original post, I figured I'd offer up an alternate ride... Honestly, the pace will not be slow per say, but we aren't looking to race. There will be a couple fast guys and a few slow(er) guys/gals. Everyone will be out there having fun. This is not the ride to impress people on. This will not turn into a race. Nobody will be goaded into doing anything they are not comfortable with... That being said, here are my expectations: Route is tentative, but we will go over it anyway... Don't be shy chime in if you know a sweet road... Highways suck. Hand signals should be standard and agreed upon before everyone leaves. No passing in the corners. My preferential crusing speed is 70-80mph. Triple digits are for the track, keep them to a minimum. Keep safe distance. Wear your gear... Helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, jeans... minimum. I don't want my ride ruined because we are scraping up dumbass all over the road. Do whatever the hell you want unless it puts me or anyone else in harms way and/or causes undue attention of LEO's. Ride your own ride. Lotsa miles... all day. Feel free to break off whenever though... Those who rode with me before know what to expect... Extra caution is warranted due to the holiday weekend...
  13. I just use them to gauge 'what's left' when I take breaks throughout each ride... Mine are completely gone in the back and down to a 1/4" or so in the front, but throughout the course of a ride they come and go... not true strips, but you can still see the difference with the wear...
  14. Response has been very disappointing...
  15. I'm originally from N. Canton... There are some decent roads east of Canton... Welcome.

Why would I lead up the slow group? I'd imagine I'd fall somewhere in the medium group... Unless that was a jab at me... Thank you. I think the last time I tried to prove something to someone other than myself was in HS. Truth. I'm planning a track day this year just so I can get smoked... and learn. Honestly, this ride feels sketchy to me... Open invite to all, with the specification of it being a fast ride. I enjoy a spirited romp through the twisties and tend to only push myself when I'm solo... I've seen too many people come into situtations with too much gusto and end up fucked due to the goading of the group mentality. Then again, that's just my $0.02, which is worth much less in some circles...
  17. You just gotta feel for this guy and his family... they've already been through a lot... Fluckin' drunk drivers piss me off!!! Of course the way things go around here sometimes, I'll probably be labeled as having some sort of problem with loving cops and apologizing for their shortcomings as fallible beings.. Oh well.
  18. I totally understand... Hours that low is AMAZING!

I've been looking to put together a ride for that same day... Perhaps a combination is in order.
