  1. gear on a bike is like a parachute when sky diving, No, you really don't HAVE to wear it, it's not a law, but you'll feel allot safer with it on, and when you do hit the ground (and you will hit the ground) your landing will be much more bearable.
  2. Ah, yeah that's god playing a trick on the scientists because he hates them. He doesn't want them to find the real truth. The world is really only a few thousand years old.
  3. I was planning on it but there was frost on the ground this morning I'll def be out after work though!
  4. where did that come from? who the hell even mentioned a 'Bus?
  5. HA! I forgot about her... Now that I'm single again, maybe we should go back
  6. No just people who actually know how to market.
  7. Well, there's only so many places oil can get into the combustion chamber from. Either past the rings, through the valve seals, damaged head gasket or through the intake via a PCV/PAIR type valve. Valve seals usually smoke at idle, and low RPMs, and will clear up at higher RPMs. the springs are going to fast at mid/high rpms to allow as much oil to just sit around them. Not to mention they are not in a place where they would be holding back any actual pump pressure, just whats lying around inside the top of the head. High rpms sounds like a cracked ring/rings, at low RPMs the pressure in the crank case is minimal and it would smoke some, but not severly. At high rpms, especially what a small cc sport bike is capable, the crank case pressure is quite high (relatively speaking) and that would, along with the fast moving rings not wiping as well, However, if this is the case. I have a hard time believing that the plugs are not dripping oil when they are pulled. I've cracked rings before and it was quite obvious which cylinder was burning oil... Still have no idea where that chunk of ring went, wasn't in the engine anywhere... This leads me to ask, is there a crankcase vent that is somehow, attached to the exhaust? Normaly they are attached to the intake box, but I know there are systems out there that utilise the vaccuum from the exhaust to suck the crankcase. this would also make sense in a sportbike since oil will lower the octane rating of your gasoline if it is sucked into the combustion chamber. Also if it were sucking that much oil into the intake box, you'd be pouring it out when you pulled it off. With all cylinders within 5% on a leak down test, no oil in the intake tract, and no oil on the plugs I'm leaning towards the exhaust evacuation. did this happen to start after an oil change? I'm wondering if there is a possiblity that your not leaking oil, but maybe it's being sprayed out under the higher pressure of high RPMs out of either a small pin hole in the filter, or around the gasket if it was double gasketed, or maybe a tear or other imprefection in the O ring and spraying it straight onto the header, and since your at high rpm, moderate to high speed, your not noticing that it's burning ON the exhaust, instead of THROUGH it? Is there oil in the mufflers? have you taken the exhaust off?
  8. LOL have fun! My first bike came in boxes, had it up and running from the boxes in about 3hrs, bikes are stupid simple, if your even semi mechanically inclined it shouldn't be that hard.
  9. i think its a typo, at the bottom of the ad it says $4,500
  10. WTF i thought this was next weekend!! SOB
  11. MAC, when you want to pay more to be told what your allowed to use. Even apple took the 'computers' off of their name last year I think? They are not a computer company, they make MP3 players now, and apparently, phones.
  12. #2 please, I'm not a fan of blondes, or short hair, but #1 looks awfully manly. Do not want.
  13. Oooohhhh!!! Another good one!! To let you know kinda what's in a post before you open it! Damn fine NN! I'd give you rep but for some reason it can't be done on the iPhone. When I get to my laptop it will be done! P.S. I miss the tags edit feature
  14. Ya know, I was thinking, you know what this site could REALLY use. Some sort of feature where you typed in a keyword or phrase and this complex code could sort through all the posts new and old and fine ones similar to, or including your criteria! It'd be awesome! There would be so much usefullness to that! We could call it 'FIND' or 'LOOK FOR' or 'SEARCH'!! Yeah that's it! 'SEARCH' and maybe put it on the top of EVERY page! Okay maybe I'm getting carried away here but I think it's a GREAT idea! Quick, someone PM Casper the friendly cracker and see what it would take to impliment this piece of awesomeness into his site!
  15. That's a bitch! better jump back in the sauna
  16. There's a page 2!? You need to set your page limit to 40 posts/page, unless you royally suck and still have dial up
  17. The issue here (like everywhere in the automotive world) is TIRES. Period. A RWD is fine in the snow with the right tires, and the whole FWD is better is just a missconception since the added weight over the drive wheels that negates the need for specialty tires somewhat. Kinda like a tractor trailer. They're so heavy that they can literally melt the ice under the tires by sheer friction. Now a FWD is obviously not this extreme but you get the point. Also you have to take into account the vehicle and tires mags is talkin about. A heavy older car with surprisingly a decently close 50/50 weight bias with neutral handeling. I had a 1 ton GMC ext cab long bed that I've gotten stuck in due to the crown in the road. Thing was useless in the snow, even with a 1850lb electric motor in the bed, but slightly less with the extra weight. Highway tires and sever lack of proportionate weight over the drives made it useless. I've also owned several jeeps, and a few SUV's with all-terrain and mud terrains that I rarely ever use 4wd on, the quality of the tire (I run only BFGoodrich all, or mud terrain on my trucks) makes it in nessicary. However the 4wd makes it really nice to be able to get yourself out of ditches. In reality in the majority of driving situations RWD is superior to FWD for a variaty of reasons.
  18. I wish there wern't flurries here yesterday morning It's still only 34 degrees
  19. Eh, their calling for freakin SNOW here tomorrow morning If it's decent I'll be down, but 3 1/2 hrs in 35 degree weather isn't my thing. Let's hope it's atleast mid 40's tomorrow morning
  20. wow, really, not too shabby at all.
  21. Thats my preferred method Gobs of TQ below 5k rpms will give you good hp numbers (muscle car method), or you can spin it to 50k rpms (Import method). HP=Tq*RPM/5252 There is no such thing as HP, it's a number achieved from mathematical formula. Torque, is a measurable twisting force around a center point that can be measured, nominaly in Nm or, Lbs/Ft.
  22. :goaway: Er... I mean yeah thats it
  23. i like www.dynotune.org stuff. ive gotten a few things off of them its good stuff
