Anyone need an almost new set of slicks?
-
Race take offs... Some new, some not so new...
Moto-Brian replied to Moto-Brian's topic in LBTS GLWS
Bump on up. Remember, the front Dunlop will be brand spankin' new! Any offers? -
Which Duc did you get?
-
You're right about $12k good being debatable... It's $18k good... Well, being bone stock and beating some bikes well north of $20k, I am thinking it has a bit of a proven track record. Not to mention all the records it has gained this year with a few other racers at the controls... I am probably able to get it for $11,750 plus tax, but has to be worked out with dealer...
-
Oh, just a note, as the bike is shown in the pics, it was raced with the damaged panels. It is purely cosmetic. In fact, it was good enough to win two national #1 plates in bone stock form... I will get the buyer either my cost on parts needed to get back to like new condition...

So, I have my 2009 Demo RC8R for sale. It actually has a build date of 2/10 and is 100% the same as a 2010... Anyways, the way this has to work is that it needs to run through a dealership. I can probably get this done through Wheelsports in Reynoldsburg, OH or Ohio Motorcycle in Hilliard, OH. You pick. There would be a destination charge and what we call a PDI charge. The price asked here is as the bike sits. It is 100% streetable and ready to ride, but has a little rash on the right mid fairing. I will get detailed pics later... I am also looking at selling this to a dealer so, it could go to a shop vs. a general public person... It has just over 2000 miles and has lived almost solely on the track. I put a good number of street miles on it, but all freeway. Oil has been changed religously and we use Motorex oils and OEM KTM filters. I have race related parts on it in the pictures and they will not be included. Everything will be OEM stock and will come with manual, service manual, and fresh Pirelli street tires. I might be able to get a set of 2CTs put on it, also if that matters... Anyways, the price is going to be about $11,750 plus destination and PDI charges. I might be able to negotiate those charges with the dealer... Not sure as we will have to wait until I get any feedback... These bikes retail for $20k. I also may be able to add in a few items like a KTM rear stand and some cool pieces parts for a buyer... I can add some sugar to sweeten the deal. Here are pics as it stands in street trim. Pics do not show rash on right side. I can also repair/replace the damaged panels, but that will raise the cost. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Ahhhhh... So funny! that's got the bus up to four!!

You are correct. The deal was it was a while ago and I am going off memory. But, I do know that you were somewhat miffed at the comments that the guy pretty much got what he deserved. There was bickering back and forth about the whole thing. The Columbus RACING site you refer is the site that talked about th crash, no? Anyways, what really gets me with you sometimes is the fact that you are sitting here creating a thread degrading a car driver. You started it. You stand up and bitch and complain. The point I am getting to is that I find it strange to complain when there is PLENTY of evidence of stupid shit being done on a motorcycle on this site. Get off the Junkies. It isn't just those guys. I know you have a hard on for those guys at times, but there are plenty of others on here that have shown they are as bad as the guy just scraping below the yellow line. I also didn't mean you've NEVER stated anything against videos, etc. It's just weird that th site owner is calling out cagers in a scenerio that you have no idea about, you weren;t there, you don't know the exact spot to know if crossing there was an issue or not. We've all don it, we've all don it on bikes, also. Guy made a mistake and all of a sudden, he's a dousche bag. However, he might very well have better driving abilities than any of us talking about it. So, maybe you ought to lay off the guy? I mean, all these things about riders and the talks about merging in the other thread, etc. From the sounds of it, you are a perfect rider that never merges or does such bad habits on a bike. That in theory would make you a better rider than most. I suspect that isn't so. The bottom line is that judging someone based on a pic is pretty lame and somewhat silly. I have nothing against you, but the last few issues we have had with riding ability and such leaves me asking what the hell? Are you really that good a driver and that great a rider to make judgements?
-
Hey, at least you are honest. I get tired of a lot of guys saying thy never do this or have never done that. Yeah, right... I've done some really stupid things on both a bike and a car. Guess I'm just a damn idiot...
-
I hate damn street motorcycle riders. Every street rider does this and is a complete danger to society. Damn hooligans...
-
Has nothing to do with that. Site owner starting a thread to degrade a driver for crossing the center line, but doesn't say boo about what some guys on here have posted is somewhat silly, no? Just think what the car guys over on Casper's street racing site he visits (Remember the whole story of the car guys drag racing and one guy killed someone? Remember that whole deal where we were arguing the death of an innocent person?) and what they have as ammunition for stating that motorcyclist are idiots and they ride like morons... Just sayin'...
-
I stated SOMEWHAT hypocritical. I can show you PLENTY of videos a car guy could use from this site that is a great example of tool boxes riding motorcycles. It's pretty simple. You singling out a car guy for crossing the line, making a point to essentially degrade the guy is somewhat hypocritical. Do you degrade or note your feelings on people that post vids of stupid shit being done on a motorcycle? I know we cannot all be as perfect a rider as you where apparently you never speed, you never have crossed a center line or have done anything considered stupid while on a bike...
-
And this is any different than some of the "group rides" I have seen on video of motorcyclists? Think it is pretty stupid, but at the end of the day, he is probably flying. You being pissed about it and singling out cagers is somewhat hypocritical when you allow the videos to be posted on your site... I see the issue, but it is a case of kettle calling pot black here...

Oh, it goes beyond India...
-
You are right to a degree based on the two wheel industry, but there is more than motorcycles being built there. Lots more... But to answer your question, the population in India is crazy obviously and to gain some market share there would certainly be a good thing...
-
Has nothing to do with what the market is in India... It's solely based on production costs to keep things more in line and to create a product that has a manageable cost of production...
-
Actually, it has everything to do with the dollar. Making things in China or similar allows companies a great way to manage QC. Some countries create an issue with getting QC done. Pakistan is an example. Americans don't travel to Pakistan and even though leather products (as an example) might have started to be made in Pakistan, the QC issues that arise from that causes major issues and the cost increase in having them made in China is better overall... Again, the cost of production in the US would be at least double. If not more. The cost of tee shirt production is crazy cheap in China or Vietnam. US tee shirt is expensive for the tee made in the US and then to have a company screen print it is higher, also. It's pretty simple. The amount per hour labor is a base to look at just in a simplistic way. Look at minimum wage here and labor wages in China... Gotta pay for people to do the work. Cost is high. Labor has everything to do with it. You have to cover the labor to create the product. Profit is certainly lowered on both accounts. The manufacturer loses profit and then raises dealer cost which raises retail. Retail on that Nike $95 pair of shoes would have to be closer to $200 to make the same margins on all accounts... Ain;t gonna happen, folks...

Thing is that you are bringing this up some 12 plus years late. They've been over 80% non American for a LOOOOOONG time. Suspension, carbs, electronics, etc. They make VERY little here. They assemble and pretty much that's it. Stop the blame BS and let it go. Jobs here in the states that would build these things would raise the costs to unobtainable amounts. Same with tees, textiles, etc. Been that way forever - not just with Obama. He inherited a mess from YEARS of issues. Shit doesn;t happen over night. Easy to blame people and that's what is going on. The cost of a hat made here would be twice the amount it costs overseas. The real question is this - would you pay $50 for a ball cap that you can get for $25? We as Americans are spoiled. We sit here every day and bitch about how much shit costs at our dealerships. We are programed to pay as little as we can get away with. If we make everything here, it is going to raise the cost of living to heights beyond anything you have ever seen. All I know is that the stuff you have in your house is pretty much from overseas. Look at the clothes and things you own. That made in "another country" isn;t from 4 years ago... Build them in India. You'd never know. Apparently, you never knew it has been an issue for a long time. But, the whole "jobs lost to overseas" is on everyone's minds and is an easy topic to bring up. Let it go...
-
Uh, nothing really shocking... If you guys knew all the companies that actually build bikes in India, you'd be pretty set back. That's both Metric and Euro... Big names, too... Also, unless you were told (and many are never told even at the dealer level), you wouldn't be able to tell... This isn't China or Korean quality...

You can ride one if you want. When I get the 350, we can go together. There's an indoor track near Troy, Ohio.

What I also enjoy is listening to the common theme of "we need to change the way Washington does things". Apparently, that means with exception to negative ad campaigns...
-
So, what, I vote for a douchebag that slams their opponent or I vote for the opponent that slams the other guy/gal? Basically, what I have a choice over is pure bullshit. I have one guy blaming the current in house guy for the economy. For the job loss. I actually feel for the current folks as the bad economy is apparently ALL their faults and easy to lay blame. But, the guy coming in or trying to get voted in simply tells a bunch of smoke and mirrors BS and bashes vs. telling us exactly what was done wrong, but makes the same promises the other guys told prior. It's a fucking mess. NOBODY has a solution and until these fucktards start to work together to help us all out, why bother? You can be like the old school people and say if we don't vote, we cannot make a difference. So, essentially what you are telling me is that when we all voted last time with the idea to make a difference, the floor fell out and it all went to hell... Washington needs to change. It's like the unions. Shit needs to be fixed and thinking outside the box is needed. Sides need to be less definitive and a focus on the greater good is what needs to be addressed. I get fucking tired of every ad telling me what the other asshole didn't do. All the negative ads are getting more and more prominent and I am tired of it. So, in my effort to send a message, I didn't vote. They need to realize that we are fed up. Rant over...
