  1. Give Gene a slap on the ass and a high five from me. Be careful - he had back surgery. Tell him I'm coming for his title.
  2. Tires are tires for the most part. As seen in the lap times, they are all close. Your miles may vary. My buddy went to that tire seminar and said it was pretty much general info and stuff everyone should know. Afterall, Dunlop paid for it so... The bottom line is when we talk street, if you stick to the top three possibly four, you will be satisfied. Setup is key as you can get dialed on michelins and use the settings for Dunlop and suck some ass. The idea is that every tire requires some time to dial in. As for performance, good to see they ran the race track. Times are shit as editors aren't what I would measure much against, but the difference was what I expected. Push and things get to be different. But again, it is so close, you're picking colors.
  3. Stay away from Ebay. Typically, they are salvage bikes that the wheels come off of and rarely are they checked for being straight. Only way to buy is for a 100% guarantee... WERA board is your best bet. You should be able to find a perfect wheel with rotors for $200... $400 for a set - those wheels are two generations old, but are used on a lot of bikes still...
  4. I can do that if you got about $13k. 190 plus at the ground... Everything is for sale, man...
  5. I can verify that Dub likes anal - I mean is very anal about his stuff! Seriously, though - this is a great bike and as clean as they come. Plus, Dub is a guy that doesn't spare expense on making sure the parts are top notch.
  6. I have a set of Michelin Slicks. Can't run them in the classes I am running next year so, your benefit. Have two sessions. Really, more like 1 since they were at the CA Day at Mid-Ohio and it was 55 degrees... You can see the wear/depth marks and even the mold marks across the tire as well as the edges... These are awesome tires and like new. Sizes: Rear: 19/69 - 17 (Essentially a 190 rear) Front: 12/60 - 17 (Essentially a 120 front) $100. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  7. bump it up. Need these out of my basement. Willing to negotiate...
  8. I am looking like not being able to go. But, I can drive to CBus easily... I gotta text Andy and let him know... It sucks. Family Thanksgiving...
  9. They call it a "Baby Goldwing" because it weighs so damn much! Heavy bike... Fun, though and really, if Honda would have kept at it, they could have made that bike into something really special. But, alas... Honda in typical fashion built it and left it be...
  10. Since I am th notorious dick of the board, I'll say what everyone is afraid to say - yes, quit. Do everyone a favor and stop riding motorcycles. Easy. Done. Now, if you want to stop with the 3rd grade chick drama, you can listen really close - TAKE YOUR BIKE AND RAISE IT BACK TO STOCK AND LEARN TO RIDE BETTER. Street riding isn't going to do shit for you. You can ride 40k miles a year on I71 from Cleveland to CBus for work everyday and you won;t learn shit. Get into a performance class of some sort or calm the fuck down and act like a humble guy who needs to learn shit. Less talk, more listen when around the better riders. Otherwise, lock the thread down and sell your bike and pick up golf.
  11. I will say in race trim... I somewhat wet myself when I saw it... Uploaded with ImageShack.us However, understand that the factory assisted teams will throw a TON of money at this thing to make it great. Even if another AMA team comes to the party. Kawasaki threw a SHIT pile at the chassis only to have the same issues... At the club level, racers cannot afford to do such things and it will be the litmus test as to whether or not the newest chassis is up to par. This is something that has always plagued Kawasaki. Great motors, but handling is always at the bottom of the list... I really hope that they get it right after so many tries...
  12. Problem here is denial. You may have some "time and miles", but that alone doesn't make you a "veteran rider" by any means. From what the people that have experience riding with you, newbie is a great descriptor. The comments and descriptions paint a picture of a rider that will EASILY get in over their head and surprisingly, you haven't already. Even on the old, pussy riders only need to apply, pile of slow turd you own now. Your essential tag of the Katana - not ours... Until you develop your ability, a GSXR or any current geny 600 is too much for you and your mindset. Not to mention you are by no means ready for a "vagina melting" 750. Do the whole community of fellow riders a favor and get to a few track days and learn some things before you become a statistic. You're a newbie, son. Wake up.
  13. I assume you are referring to Hord as the well known Hawk guy. Well, you will NEVER go wrong with JD and Hawks. He's one of only a VERY few that have as much intimate knowledge on Hawks. Freakin awesome bikes and he was one of the very last to give up when the SVs came to town. The costs he is quoting is very good and actually below industry average. I'd say at minimal, get it back to fresh and like new and keep it. Adding the 700 kit may cause issues in reliability and will time out sooner than if kept stock. These are becoming collectible to a degree and modded may hurt resale. Probably not if JD does it... My suggestion is to not sell it and get something else. If you cannot afford to do both, keep it until you can. It's one of those cool bikes that you'll soon regret selling. If selling, let me know.
  14. Hey Scottie, dude... Buy this piece of shit: Uploaded with ImageShack.us That way when you wad it up under 1000 miles, I can buy it back and race the freakin thing. It would be pussy of you to buy anything less. Twist it to the stops and let 'er eat. PM me for my contact info though before you roll out.
  15. God dayum! I just about shot a pretzel piece out my nose! LOVE IT!!
  16. So now the 600s are for pussies? I mean, a current generation R6, CBR, ZX6R, GSXR are for chumps. Guys who can't figure out how to tame those things are newbs with small cocks. Geez, the times for 600s being faster than 1000s on certain tracks must be completely bogus and another way the Man is holding us back. 600s are fir bitches.
  17. I want to do a 1970 Camaro and do modern suspension and a roll cage for road racing. Uploaded with ImageShack.us I've been close to starting this project, but too many two wheeled toys right now!
  18. Dude, you keep digging a deeper hole... So now if people ride 750s their whole riding career, they are pussies? 750s are probably the BEST sportbike available. More grunt than a 600 and not as wicked as a 1000. 9 out of 10 people don't need a 1000 nor have the ability to really ride a 1000 close to it's potential. Of course, a kid like you who is an AMA pro racer that gets his sportbike sideways all the time knows what I am talking about. By the way, if I hear one more person tell me how they get their bike sideways or spin their rear tire, I'm gonna puke... Well, except Scottie who is a master rider. I only hope that someday I can be as good as he is. Will you tech me the go fast secrets?
  19. Ahhhh.... ok, so you simply raced AMA sanctioned races. Not as an AMA racer. BIG difference...
  20. Meh... Now if it were a twin and looked like a CBR and not the VFR, maybe. I'd like to see it in another color before I make a final. Small cc bikes are gonna kick some ass in years to come. Lookie what we got coming: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Dressed to impress: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Not sure yet we are bringing these in yet. Would be great for college kids, new riders and urban folks...
  21. You raced AMA? Do tell... I assuming not road racing. MX? AMA Pro Card?
  22. Faster than this guy? Guess what bike he is riding - it was shittier than what you own... Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  23. You were essentially calling the Katana a girls bike and lame. You're riding a bike that is extremely old technology - not much different than the Katana. The point to my post was simple - you calling his bike a chicks bike when you are on a bike that isn't much better. Slightly ahead, but barely... FZR technology... If this were 11 years ago, you'd be king and he'd be just a click behind. I just find it funny that a guy calls a bike a pile and is on a bike that could easily fall into the same category. In the end, I don't give two shits what bike you like or dislike. If you like the bike you are on, that's totally the way it should be. I've seen guys race the Katana in the 90s and freaking clean up. I've also watched a handful of guys succeed on a YZF600. Not as many as it was a tough bike to go fast against that series of years of bikes it competed against. But, there were some... Sure, it would be great to own the newest generation sportbike and change every model year, but at the end of the day, if anyone thinks they are above and beyond the bike they ride, I suspect they aren't. Buy a bike that may be better suited for whatever the application. If you want a CBR vs a Katana for track use, cool. Just say you are ready to step up and buy something newer and be done with it. But, as it has gone, your mouth is getting the better of you. You are acting like you are well beyond anything on two wheels and need something fast to suit you. Trust me when I say this - if you think you are beyond the bike you own, let's take you and let you run 10 laps on it. As hard as you can. Then, we get a guy that we choose to run 10 laps on your bike also. My bet is that we can get a guy that can run faster than you on the same bike. The bottom line is that you can still learn no matter how much you feel you already know. Ability makes a rider. Not the bike.
