  1. I have a Suzuki RM250 top end kit for sale. Brand new OEM Suzuki stuff. Should cover 96-00 model years. Part numbers are #12101-37841 for the top end kit and #09263-18016 for the bearing. Again, brand new and retails for over $170. I found it as I had a 97 RM250 and I can't use it obviously. Asking $50.
  2. All are OBO, but are new and never used... 1) Fox Pee Wee series gear. Designed for the little riders out there from ages 4-9. Allows them to be big kids by being able to fit these items on themselves. Designed to be worn on the outside and is a TON better than bulky, oversized plastic protectors that can actually harm a smaller child. Tentatively sold to conn-e-rot ninja!! 2) Adult sized EVS RC-2 Neck brace. Great to wear to prevent whip lash while MX riding and trail riding... Retail is $40. Asking $20...
  3. Few items. ALL ARE OBO. You cover shipping. I travel through CBus all the time and can meet, but shipping will be via USPS Priority Flat Rate Box. 1) REAL Carbon Fiber tank cover for 04-07 (check years) CBR1000. $25 2) REAL Carbon Fiber tank cover for GSXR750 96-99. 5. If you were going to rent a trailer, why not just rent a pick up truck? Uhaul rents them and it would be an easy deal... If you are willing to Bro out some cash, I suspect a few on here could help. But fuel up and back is going to be something you should at least cover...
  6. So the guy with the 08 R6 with 1500 miles is a bad example??? You get what you pay for at times. Again, Honda East might have been a haul, but they are really good. They also have some GREAT service guys, too. Same with some other dealers. Baller status or not, you never know when you need that dealership for more than a whore deal... HNW, Honda East, Pony, etc would have been top choices over ASK...
  7. Buying based on price alone is not the best idea. Ask the kid that did that and now has his R6 needing repaired... He had hassle when he needed it fixed and guess what? Didn't trust ASK to service it... What good is low ball price if you cannot take it there for service? Roush is good, Honda East is good and so are a few others, but if they were all close, why settle for the worse service department??? Plus, when looking for a bike, you can also ask for dealer locator service. Tough on the new R1, but overall, something that is able to happen... Why didn't you try Pony?
  8. Uh, no. The 1098R has some trick rods and pistons and such. Not what is found in the 1198. Now, the 1198 is a great bike as they found some power and such, but the 1098R has a LOT of internal engine differences than a stock 1198 does... Plus, the 1098R has a TRUE traction control system that is MUCH closer to the real stuff they use in WSBK with the pick ups on the rotors and sensors that actually indicate wheel speed and related info. The R is worth the money to a degree, but considering it is at least $40k base, you can build a pretty damn good GSXR1000 for that...
  9. I am going to try and do more Alum this year. Maybe we can get a group going... I get deals via work. I would never pay $4k for a bike...
  10. Right up until you ride say, Mohican and then that $143 bike gets a little sketchy... Maybe could ride at Alum by taking it easy, but even then if you get ANY bit of speed, you'd wear her out pretty quick. You do get what you pay for, but there are PLENTY of bikes in that $300-sub $1000 range that will work. Components are what makes a bike and the frame as to how it is made...
  11. HNW quoting you $150 is a basic cost to cover their ass in case it is easily proven it is abuse. If you KNOW you haven't done anything wrong and have installed everything right, you're safe. Warranty will be in effect... The time period? Again, had you bought from HNW and not from ASK, you'd be in earlier and out sooner. Price you pay for buying solely on cost alone. Great lesson here... Bottom line is calling Yamaha is going to do nothing as they too will direct you to the dealer you bought it from. In the end, it is a warranty issue that if you want it done quickly, you need to take it to ASK whuch has a really bad reputation and their service department has nobody in there who is probably capable if it is an internal engine issue... But, it's where you bought it and you should take it there to get done quicker. The time period is going to be long as anything engine related will cause the dealer to have to jump through a few hoops and Yamaha will have to be called to verify the warranty claim... Sucks, but tis the way it goes... You can also check on the progress everyday and see what they are doing. You need to get a list of what they did and why the bike was doing what it was. The number of days you are on here worrying are the days it could be sitting getting fixed...
  12. Ok, I'll try one more time. The bike is covered by ANY Yamaha dealership. The warranty is via Yamaha - NOT ASK! You have the right to take it anywhere you please. Understand one thing. A competing dealer is going to know you went to ASK for the best deal and you should service it at that dealer. What bugs me is that when it comes time to do service, people never think about anything past cost. Service and GOOD service is worth extra in my book. I would take it to Mid-Ohio or HNW and tell them you are having this issue and need to schedule for warranty work. Don't mention ASK and if they ask if you bought it through the dealer you are taking it to, tell them no, but tell them you have heard good things about the service department and want to take your business to them. You'll probably wait a little longer, but HNW is a supporter on this board and I would mention that and see where it takes you. If you do take it to ASK, they HAVE to cover it. Have to. You don't need to call Yamaha. Only call them if the shit doesn't go the way you want it to. Quit calling these shops and asking - just call ONE SHOP to where you want to take it and set an appointment and take it in.
  13. You need to get an estimate. It's a warranty issue plain and simple no matter if it is fuel or oil. They CANNOT charge you anything if under warranty. The only thing warranty verbage doesn't cover is abuse, neglect and wear and tear...
  14. Take it to mid Ohio in mount vernon or HNW. DO NOT take it to ASK. Take it somewhere good that you trust. ANY Yamaha dealer will fix it. It's a Yamaha warranty. Taking it to ASK is gambling they get it right. Very doubtful.
  15. first of all, juice box is shit. Second, if it is oil NOTHING related to the juice box or exhaust is the culprit. Personally, I would pull the box to not stir up any issues even though you are fine. The exhaust? Leave it. One, shows the oil residue. Two, has as much to do with an engine issue as you have trying to move your bikes with your mind. Dealers aren't like what flounder is saying. They will honor the warranty if you educate yourself. You know it has nothing to do with the bolt ons. If they say it does, they need to prove it 100%. They can't and won't. If it's oil, DO NOT ride it anymore. Take it to a GOOD dealer and get it looked at NOW. like ben stated, quit wasting time and get it in there Buddy had a new 08 R6 with FULL race prep. Got 96 miles and it chunked a valve. Took race plastic off and left it naked. Dealer covered it. You're in a MUCH better spot. Quit worrying and at worse take the worthless juice box off and take it to the shop. After it's fixed, get a bazaaz or PC.
  16. You mis understood me - I just said you were crazy! I bust flounder's ass because he needs to get his bike finished... He spends more time polishing his gun than he does getting that bike done. As for his rifles, well.... not sure if he polishes those...
  17. We are planning to cut trails at Bluegrass soon. Hopefully, this month... If it is close, plan on coming down when we do events there. Can't do the track day? Who cares! Come ride Mtn bikes!
  18. Guys and gals, you get a credit towards another venue so, you can easily sign up for other BG events... For example, the ones signed up for April, I'd get in for the May event before it fills up and gets closed... It's just the one event - not the whole year. With BG being weekends and even the WOW events, there is PLENTY of chances at this track...
  19. If she's never been there, either direction will offer the same challenges. The track is really the same either way to a new rider as they are seeing it for the first time. Wheelies over the hill vs. jumping the hill in the other direction offer two unique challenges to anyone...
  20. Mountain Biking has always been something I have really enjoyed. Unfortunately, I never have enough time... Anyways, had a sweet XC bike that I built and recently sold. Decided to go All Mountain and do a build with a company from Cali. Company is called Chumba Bikes and they build some SICK frames. They are well noted for DH bikes, but have been getting into more and more lighter duty machines. This is an XCL frame. -They shot peen the frames and anodize them. -Fox Vanilla RLC front fork with a 15mm Through Axle (Normally a 9mm quick release axle on most bikes. -Fox PR23 rear -SRAM X.9 throughout -Avid Juicy 5 brakes (suck) Overall, a really killer company to work with and they can tailor to your budget and whatever grouping of components you want. I did a few color combos that are unique and make it somewhat different than a typical bike you'd buy at the shop... Thing rips and feels freakin super balanced... GREAT tool for training for you track day guys and especially you racers.
  21. From the top man himself... This is a good thing to have happen. The owner of the track feels terrible, but understand that this is only a good thing for the future of the facility. Getting the pavement down too early and not allowing it to cure the way it should will lead to too many issues in the future. It's going to be a good thing for a track of this caliber as well as a good thing for riders...
  22. 100% on the money. Hell, the 750 wore my ass out up at Grattan let alone this fucking 1000... Mid-Ohio wears you out, too. I think Beaver is a good choice for the first timer, too...
  23. Dude, that's pretty beat. One can buy a set of Optimal shipped to their door for $350ish. I'd say due to condition and the fact it needs serious repair, you're looking at max $200...
  24. Yeah, exactly. Beaver is so damn easy and basic that my mom could probably cut easy laps there. Grattan is challenging in MANY regards. Offers a lot of great things to a rider that will carry over to other tracks. I always find it funny though when you talk about how tough a track is and hard it is to "master" and they get scared and choose the easier tracks. Learning a tough and challenging track will allow you to be better at other facilities. If you can ride Mid-Ohio fast and well, you can ride anywhere well. Same for Grattan... Except most tracks have better surfaces... Nah, it isn't that bad. It sure as shit isn't Nelson...
