I'd give my suggestion, but fucktards like Hoblick think I push high end stuff on all you guys so, I'll keep quiet. VEGA, baby!! Ok, I think HJC, KBC, and Scorpion make good mid line to lower scale high end stuff... Scorpion leads the way with the 700. Icons are too heavy. HJCs are pretty damn good and are toe to toe with the 700... Thing is, you need to try stuff on and see what fits best. You may have three companies in the same class of price and features, but only one may fit right...

Ok, put it this way. You can buy whatever the fuck you want. You can try and test them out. BUT, if you EVER want to ride and do things the way the bike was built to do, you need the proper equipment. If you're a cheap ass and wanna save cash, that's totally cool. But don't try and say your Daewoo sedan is as good as the BMW it is parked next to. Get my drift? I didn't say riding like I do at the track. Ever been to Deal's Gap? Ever rode 10 in KY? You can ride WELL within the posted limits and need good tires to do it safely and effectively. What gets me pissed is when people like yourself ask fucking questions and when people with experience chime in with legit info, you think we're telling you in a high and mighty way. I could give two fucks what you ride on. Bring them to an STT event and ride them at Mid-Ohio for all I care. I'll help you as much as the next guy. What you ride is what you ride. I can help in your decisions by giving you REAL world info and experience. If you don't want it, don't post asking questions as to what you should do. Fuck.

Spirited riding on the twisties isn't riding like you are at the track. If you sport tour with your bike, that's cool. If you are a rider who enjoys the twisties and can ride at a decent pace, these aren't the tires for you at all. You can ride Deal's Gap and stay well within the posted limits and shag tires. I am sure you always ride at exactly the posted limit, right?

You beat them with a mallet. Reuben can do this. PM him. I'll tell him to check the site. He's been SUPER busy building motors for the race season...

One thing I really get a kick out of is when you hear someone say they bought another famous tire company's molds... For example, Conti has Pirelli's old guys working there and everyone thinks that Contis are the same as Pirellis. Just because they got molds, they got the people, and they may even have the compound formula, doesn't mean they are going to be the same. Cutting cost on the process or cutting out R&D or cutting out updated compounds and formulas or ways of releasing the tires from the molds, etc are ways that keep cost down. You do get what you pay for. Wanna test tires? Bring your Stinkos, Cuntis, Avons and let's compare them to what works. I think you'll be amazed... Now, using them for touring or average street riding? Sure. But a lot of you guys ride aggressively on the street and through some serious twisties. For example, Deal's Gap. Wanna trust these down there? There's your answer. Again, drag racing is cool, but a drag tire doesn't make a good street tire...

Question... Who's the twat that likes to state how great and fast he is? Please tell me this is an obnoxious English journalist guy. Otherwise, the guys spends more time telling us how fast he rides and how hard he pushes everything and throws in how much seat time he has and how great he is as a rider. My opinion is if you listen to this douche bag, you might as well buy the Shinkos and then come back and tell us why you're picking brush out of your bung hole after sliding across the pavement and off the cliff of your favorite road... Christ. Bottom line is that these are great for the guy who doesn't have much money. The sport tourer guys like them because they aren't pushing the sidewalls of the tires and asking for tons of grip under load. The drag guys like them because they do make a sticky rear that is VERY useful to their environment. The stunters like them because who wants to pay big bucks for a tire you're going to roast off anyways? If you ride anywhere near spirited on a sportbike (R6, CBR, GSXR, etc), these are not for you. If you sport tour with your sportbike, fine. Just don't ask for these tires to do the same thing as say a pair of 2CTs... Otherwise, get ready for bending over and asking your buddy to pluck a piece of wood out of your raw ass cheek...

But, it didn't leave a name... I know it is a joke and anyone who reads it sees that, too. But, I think if Casper can get it to show who left it, it will be a deal where if it is serious, it will be a deal that is better thought out and less pussy-like. Your rep is pussy-like because it is you. I also got the pic and wonder why you would put "I'm still gay" on your own bike... Why, Flounder, why?

Slap her for sale on the WERA board as they have a LOT of Vintage racers there that may be interested... I think if it is in excellent condition, it's worth $2500...
-
Honestly, Casper, I think there needs to be some changes similar to Ebay. If you leave negative or neutral responses, you should have to say why and allow the guy getting rep to counter with one comment. I get Neautral rep for my KMC filter comment and there's no reasoning. Personally, outside the goofy rep comments, there isn't much to gain by even having it...

Here's what I am wondering. If you didn't contest the wreckless opt charges, you're fucked. You apparently were doing something that netted you being going the wrong way. Whatever the case, she wasn't at fault and therefore you were. Not sure where you're pissed as I understand it sucks, but if the cops did a full accident site investigation (Seeing the damage, they certainly would have) and didn't charge her, but did you, you're going to have a tough time. Yup, car got hosed, you got fair value for the car even though it may have been less than you wanted, etc., but at the end of the day, it all wouldn't have happened if you hadn't messed up, right? Sometimes, life lessons suck. Just be thankful that you are ok and it wasn't worse. Thanks God she and her baby were fine, as well... Had one or both died, you'd be in some serious shit...

Here's the one I started on. 03 CRF:

Need to slide more. Get aggressive, man!
-
The drag race guys love 'em. My honest overall opinion? Pure doo doo.

Actually. it is 00-05 750 rims and 01-05 600 rims are the same. The rotors are different on the 04/05 600/750, though. For the cost of a rim to get fixed, you can buy one from WERA or similar. Try and avoid Ebay. You just can't trust they will be straight.

Never have had to break in a set of pads since 1998...
-
I actually didn't panic at all. I was a bit in the mode of "Oh, shit", but honestly, it wasn't too bad and it seemed like I had enough time and choices to get her slowed properly. I will say that my MX experience and ability to slide a bike while braking helped me out. Not bragging, but lesser ability would have been eating pebles in the beach off the back straight... It's the first time I have had that happen and will take that as a learning experience for any other time. I actually thought everything through and had a back up if it wouldn't have gotten slowed enough...
-
This is not true with modern pads like seen in the RJLs and others. No break in required. That's old school stuff... Now basic pads, possibly, but not sure on that so I cannot say. I do know 100% that you don't need to accelerate and brake, accelerate and brake like you used to have to do to bed the pads in. Clean the rotors with mineral spirits or similar and slap on the new pads...
-
Feel weird? They look so much thicker than a set of regular grips due to the aluminum... Look trick, though!
-
Agreed. But, the Vesrah pads everyone is referring to are in the same range as the EBCs. The track day stuff was simply for his reference if he did do any track days... EBC, Galfer, OEM, etc are all good choices for street. If you are an aggressive street rider, you might want to look at some more serious pads as EBCs are not quite as good as some others out there...
-
There's actually five types of Vesrah pads. The ones listed in the Parts Unlimited and similar catalogs are what you are wanting if mostly street... I cannot remember what they call them. Maybe just double sintered. Maybe JLs??? Track day stuff: RJLs. Great basic pad. Was the cat's meow about 5 years ago and is great today... Can get through Parts Unlimited. SRJLs. Also called the Supers. VERY pricey, but like adding steel braided lines to your bikes. AMAZING stopping power. Instant bite and not for everyone... Actually a couple of compounds of these. Track only or maybe places like STG... SRJLs Max. As a result of the Supers being a little too much bite for some. More progressive in how they work. Track only. Over $150 per set... SRJLs XX. More pad and has similar characteristics of the Maxx. Hard to get right now as they are VERY new. They work great, though and are a little tough for me to get used to as I am a Supers guy. Better than the Max only because it has more pad material and seems to not fade AT ALL. Track only as I don't think you can get these anywhere else... I tried out some Carbon Loraines, but had some serious issues. Can tell you that side bar as I think it was a batch issue and know the distributor as a very good friend. The result was that I am reluctant to use them again, but may try another time this year in case...
-
They won't budge a dollar on price, though and the bikes they sell are sold at a top dollar, too. Good folks at Comp, but the owner sets the rules and they rarely even discount old gear...
-
They outsell both shops actually... Southside is one of the top selling dealers based on unit sales in the region. They get a TON of bikes per year and sell more. Shop doesn't "look" like a top dealer, but they are. Yeah, gotta name drop once in a while. Helps a lot. That NSR is just sitting there and I bet if you make an offer to Gus or Tim, they'd probably sell it. You'd have to be serious, though. They don't like having their time wasted.
-
They sponsor the GP team. It isn't a Honda oil per say. Repsol is bought through Tucker Rocky and I am amazed the dealer doean't carry it as most shops do...

A lot of guys run Rotella. Personally, I only run it in the diesel I have. I run Motul 300V or the Maxima stuff in the bike. Repsol is pretty good, too. Thing is with Rotella, I know a lot of guys use it, but I have never seen the internals of a bike that uses it. I know with ELF, Motul, Maxima and Repsol, the results speak for themselves. No blueing or issues relating to poor wear protection after MANY hours of service...
