Silicone on pinch bolts won't pass. You need to angle it and take some material off the forks to get the wire to pass through. The filter is easy. Big band clamp and pull from it to a hard point off the motor to keep it from backing off... Go up to Pony and look at my 1000. Take notes and pics and you'll be 100% fine. DON'T wire the axles. Use Baby Pin style clips. That way, you don't have to reuse wire everytime you pull tires... Again, look at mine...

Scorpion exhausts isn't a sister company to Akro. Certainly not even close in terms of quality or power output, either...
-
Honda doesn't give two shits about their riders. So many pro guys do some great things for that company and all they do is shit on their riders. One of the worse companies to contract with...
-
When has that taken place? In any case, it is something you SHOULD do as they can vibrate out/off... If they changed that, it has been since 2007...

SOLD!!!! Sold to "that dude". He fell upon Ohio Riders due to trying to find a jacket. We need to welcome him and get him to come on here instead of that stupid Gixxer.com site. He's 30 minutes away from Mid-Ohio so you track day guys need to welcome him and get him to the track! Great guy and drove to pick up. Thanks and I hope you enjoy it!

Welcome to three months ago. Way to be on top of things there Ben. :p:D

for those that have two sets of rims/tires
Moto-Brian replied to natedogg624's topic in Track is Crack
Race/Race/Race. Combo is determined by the weather outlook. Typically leave rains mounted and stored in the basement. IF I ever race again, we take them to every track no matter what. But, I usually only have two sets with me at track day events and they are mounted with race DOTs or slicks on both. I don't ride in the rain unless I can get money... -
He was saying track purpose. Sorry, but someone has to lose and someone has to win. The number on race grids everywhere tell the story. It isn't a slam by any means. I like the RR - 07-09...

Simple deal here: -ANYTHING with oil behind it needs wired. Most engine oil gallery plugs and such can be done and are done by most racers with silicone. -Header bolts/nuts - wired. -Exhaust hanger brackets and springs -Front and rear caliper bolts -Front pinch bolts on forks -Oil filter (use band clamp), oil drain, oil fill -Axles front and rear -Water pump drain bolts -Radiator fill cap -SUGGESTED to wire any coolant line clamps -IIIIIFFFF you use a master link with clip (not recommended at all), that needs silicone or wired. Things I wire that are not really covered: -rearset bolts -Shifter linkage related bolts -Quick clips instead of wire on calipers, oil fill, radiator cap, etc.

It is torn at the Kevlar stretchy material. No biggie as someone can put a leather patch on there and protect and fix it all at once. It's been addressed on the newest suit SHIFT has, but for these, if you move around like a monkey like I do, you probably either need to get leather on there or just avoid Stomp Grip type stuff... It's VERY fixable and has been like that due to really the grip tape stuff I used in 07. That is what really hurt the insides. I went to Stomp Grip and it just really pulled it apart due to being weak from the tape stuff... Duct tape has really been fine for the last season...

$250 for a suit? Come on, guys... Gotta sell the new one or this one...

I know that Honda owners aren't going to like that response, but again, the R6s are weapons of choice as they are more track worthy than the others. GSXRs would be a second choice simply due to parts. I know, I know, CBR forums all over the world have parts for sale, but when at the track, these two bikes (R6, GSXR) have a lot of bikes at the tracks. Fall down and go BOOM and you're likely to find parts easier... Plus, the R6 outshines the turd GSXR and CBR. The ZX6 in 04 was actually a good bike and so was the 636... But, again, not as many out there...
-
R6 is the best choice of all the 600s in that year series. Don't waste your time on Hondas, GSXRs, or Kaws if doing track. Trust me...
-
They actually were able to make tires at the track in a special trailer they always brought... Don't ask me how, but that's the story... They were always abl;e to make up tires and have them to the track the next day at the latest no matter what. Hence, the reason why MotoGP went to the tire rules back in 07 and now they are spec so, it really doesn't matter...

FS: Sidi Vertebra Race Carbon Boots Sz 11 NIB...

Boots have been sold. Lock her up! -
It's called WSBK and if MotoGP does it, it will kill one of the series. I cannot believe that MotoGP would do production based bikes as the prototype idea will allow more bikes, for sure, but it will make WSBK less attractive to sponsors and factory support... If they limit it to say 500 total units available, I can see it - possibly, but I want prototypes and nothing street based in MotoGP. It's like F1 - they are all prototype in design and nothing street oriented... I think this economy thing is making it so they all will have a tough time dealing with racing ANYTHING. But, Kawasaki has MORE than enough R&D info to be building bikes for years. I think that we will start seeing more and more the way it used to be - 4 to 5 years for a particular design to hold with graphic changes only. No more every two years a bike gets a complete design change. Or, if they do 2 years as usual, they only change minimal things like the MX bikes do...

Where'd ya buy it?
-
I understand, but in an effort to help here, that year of GSXR usually can bring $150 tops for a like new condition tank with cap... OBO is cool, but you'll get offers for half of what you ask... If you bring it down to $200, you'd get more interest. What the dealerships charge is pointless as you can buy a 2008 GSXR tank for about $250-$300 shipped... With covers, caps and pump... Salvage dealers will sell at usually 1/2 of retail... Again, good luck - just trying to help ya out.
-
I gots connections, foo. Actually, this jacket I think JUST was released to dealers this month... I know it wasn't available through 2008... Anyways, anyone interested? It's OBO...
-
I hate to be the bad news guy, but dude, $350 is WAY too much for that series... Good luck, though...
-
What I meant to say was that the deal is a Celtic suit and the 400 Scorpion (lower and older quality than the 700) are at $600. You could buy the better Scorpion helmet and this suit and be at the same price...
-
Look at it this way - The Scorpion 700 helmet is $109.99 shipped. Plus this $500, you save almost $100 vs the Celtic and this suit (in my opinion) is better quality and will hold up better...
-
Yup, same as the NEW one being advertised on here. So, it is a 54/44... See the new thread for more details on fitment and such... http://www.ohio-riders.net/showthread.php?t=19054

Sorry Nick on the deal. Guys, this is a GREAT add on for racers and track day riders. It is something I have wanted and I just cannot get past how it feels on me when under the suit. It's a personal preference and I just think I couldn't get used to it. These are one of the best ones out there. A lot of chest injuries can be avoided with one of these. The price is STOOOOPID fair.
