  1. Make an offer. Don't be afraid to insult me. You can't. They don't do anything and just take up garage space. I thought about Ebay, but I don't even want to box them up and ship them... I'm just south of Mansfield... Easy to meet...
  2. Dig the flat military green. Sweet. By the way, ever need a set of forks for that thing. I have a set. CHEAP!!! Would make nice track day forks... revalve and BAMO!!!
  3. You guys are all under 30, though... Right? I mean, I understand the band deal. I even SLIGHTLY get the racer deal, but Sponsorhouse is a better route. I just don't understand 30 plus aged folks doing it. Plus, realize how many "famous" people are listed? I typed in a few well known racers and saw numerous members with their names. When I asked one of them at a dinner we had together, he stated "I'm not on MySpace. That shit is all bogus..." So, may look like pie, may smell like pie, but it ain't pie...
  4. BMW is NOT campaigning a MotoGP effort. They will be doing WSBK in 2010. According to Alan Cathcart who has seen the bike, sat on it, etc. stated on MotoGP's Podcast that BMW has been developing an in-line sport bike for WSBK competition. All the spy shots and comments about MotoGP are false. They were the WSBK spec machine in development. Schumaker isn't fast enough. Not to be a conspiracy theorist or anything, but 5 seconds off the lap record is a stretched story. It was "unofficial" and from Ducati who is in TIGHT with Ferrari. Michael is going to be helping Ferrari in development testing. He's certainly a good rider, but he's not race capable. 5 seconds off and guys like Spies were 2 seconds off. So, Schumaker is only 3 seconds slower than Ben Spies? Don't think so... However, if he was 5 seconds slower, he'd have been lapped twice in the race. That's never happened - even to the slowest rider on the grid... That's almost 3 minutes behind at the end... However, it also can be said that 1 second at the MotoGP level is an eternity. Plus, Ben was riding a bike he's never ridden before on a track he's never ridden before and on tires he's never ridden on. He wasn't "pushing" according to those there and I think the coolest comment I have heard so far was when someone asked him if he saw Michael Schumaker. His response? "No, but I passed him"... Cool...
  5. Ok, have a buddy who is just a little younger than me. He's 32. He rides, has a family, etc. He comes to me and says I need to get a MySpace page. I'm like "Yeah, good one. What am I? 18?" He goes on to tell me he networks with it and keeps up with friends and family. He also thinks it would be good for selling things or advertising services. I immediately thought, what? Male Escort? What services can benefit from Myspace. So, I check out his set-up. It's totally bizarre. Call me old and stuff, but unless you are under 26 years old, why the hell would you need a MySpace page? Pedophile? Stalker? What? I look at his friends and it has a bunch of people I've never even seen with the guy. He's got these pro athletes he has as "friends" and says he chats with hot chicks and everything. RIIIIIIGHT.... Just thought it was funny. Wondered how many of you homos have a page on MySpace. I mean, if I were single, 21-24 years old, I'd be all over it. Network, my ass. Network to meet chicks? Sure. Network to meet buds and share stories? At that age? Sure. Thoughts? Oh, and Drew? It isn't Nick from the other site. You know who I am talking about, right? He's another example, but I don't know him well enough to throw him under the bus... Anyone else have a silly person thinking they are youngins on MySpace? Let the under the bus throwing begin...
  6. I worked for a shop for about 6-7 years and we saw TONS of shit like this on a regular basis. We had a kid on a new R6 T-bone a Cavalier in the parking lot to a guy that got a new R1 (when they first came out and we sold it for like, $3k over sticker) and rode a wheelie on it and looped it - 3 miles on the odometer - totalled. TONS of stories. What's even funnier is the list of comments below from the arm chair riders. Comment about the kickstand was down (slide out from the right side) to guy was trying to skid and it got out of control (skids don't allow the rear to spin up and shoot out from under you...). That's probably a collection of larger douche bags than the guy who was taped...

Funny how that works, huh? I'm tellin' ya... He's that guy that sits in your yard watching you through the windows... Just waiting. Creepy.

Dude, what can he say? I mean, many of the folks here think he's a weirdo and I think he just lurks. Waiting... Like a stalker...
  9. Ok, Putty... Seen three different shots of the chick in your avatar. Clue us non-knowing types in. Wife? Girl friend? Whazzup?
  10. These look really cool in person. Guy had a set on his race bike and they were totally sweet looking. Definately not what I would want, but man, it sure would be an attaention maker... Looks great in race trim.
  11. Was watching and laughing, but thought - hey, it at least is secure. Then.... SHIT!!! Laughed my ass off.... That would have DESTROYED someone's front of their car had they been closer!!! Cool!!!
  12. I get whatcha are sayin'. Too often I actually forget about that thrill. I've actually been talking with twin on my suggestions of which way he ought to go. Sorry for the rant. Cheers to cool bikes and the fact that we all like goodies and techno stuff. I just want everyone to be safe and ride well.
  13. Not sure where I am bragging... Guys like Rocky and others get an inferiority complex once you dis certain things, I guess... I know my own abilities and know the average street riders abilities. Street guys tend to be a LOT more sure about themselves... Oh, well... If honesty is bragging, I guess I'm guilty...
  14. They don't get it, do they Drew? Oh, well. What's the comment Monte always makes about stuff like this?
  15. Well, when competing against like riders in terms of ability, any little advantage is needed. Racing requires your machine to be at the best it can be. Does that mean riding ability has no weight in racing? Riding ability STILL plays out in racing. Robert Jensen is WAY faster than I am. Do I hope to compete with Robert? No. I cannot. However, when I was racing full time, I wasn't too awful bad. When we lost the championships we finished second in, many times it wasn't due to rider ability - it was equipment. However, at times, rider ability was the reason. I got beat by some fast guys in my time and I honestly believe that rider ability is why. Opie Caylor wanted my 750 in 2002 at the Suzuki Cup Qualifier we raced in at Mid-Ohio. I had one of the top privateer Suzukis in terms of hp. However, Opie beat me soundly. HP made no difference. Can you tell the difference between a 25mm fork kit and a 20mm fork kit? Depending on ability, you can. Otherwise, if you cannot, you are wasting money. It's the same with all these bolt ons and motor builds every street guy wants. When you start bragging about what you have over another guy, that bragging is made public on forums and in front of others. I just find it funny that instead of some guy riding a bone stock 160 hp street machine and trying to learn that (Most street guys will NEVER get close to the abilities of their bikes - especially liter bikes) bike, they think adding MORE hp is the answer. When, in fact, a better rider (especially when talking street riding and track days) will win out more often than not... Point was not to say I'm better - point was that riding ability will win over hp any day. If you think otherwise, I have some secret speed parts I will sell you GUARANTEED to make you more power... Or, you can come out to an STT event and we'll coach you to be a better rider and the money you would spend on aftermarket parts can go towards track days that will make you a better rider sure to beat anyone you ride with...
  16. Actually, I play the PC version as the graphics and true to life feel is better. I have it set on Legend status. It's pretty tough, but it isn't to say I've played it a MILLION times. Many times, I've thrown the controller...
  17. Oh, yeah? I just rode at Laguna and it was great. Temps were good, great weather and above all, I won. Ok, it was MotoGP on the Playstation... I hate you.
  18. You guys and your hp numbers... Which one of you is teh best rider? HP ain't gonna matter if you suck at riding the thing... Better rider doesn't mean you can go straight, either. I have a lowly ol' 750 with only 140 on pump that I'd run against ANY of those liter bikes. Drag race, no. Well, maybe - I haven't drag raced in a while, though. Twisties, you bet... Now, if I had to run against someone like Drew on a liter bike, I'd have my hands full. I'd have to use some unique passing moves, but you get the idea... Not sure what these level 1 things are as this isn't tuner car stuff. Slapping on a high end exhaust is a waste of money when you can gain as much hp with a lower end system and yet save money. A few pounds isn't enough to feel as 7lbs equals 1hp. So, if you save 14 pounds over the lower end system, what, you actually going to notice a 2hp loss? No. Until you guys crack open the ENTIRE engine and loosen stuff up, mil, deck, lap in certain things, do small tweaks internally, etc., you're still going to be comparing apples to apples. Sure, the R1 may have less hp than the CBR, but the R1 handles better. The ZX10 may have the most, but it handles like a school bus and doesn't turn. The GSXR is probably the best overall, but seemingly, no one likes them so... However, in the end, each liter bike is so damn close that working on your riding and suspension will net better results than trick exhausts, multiple dyno runs to find 2-3 more hp, etc. You guys need to try a superstock liter bike and understand what 170-180 hp really means when it is set-up well. Superbike hp numbers are tough, but there aren't too many people that can handle over 180 anyways so, Superstock is where it is at. Sure, each bike tends to be tougher than the other to make good numbers. 5 valve Yamahas are tougher than the newer 4 valve. The CBRs are tough because they just aren't really as race oriented as the others. The Kaw makes KILLER hp stock and in tuned form are potent, but again, handles like shit. The GSXR is a good all around machine and easy to get fast, but still takes some doing in getting it away from that street set-up. Chassis set-up on the GSXR is either good or you go the wrong way... and it sucks... But, who cares if you can't ride the damn thing? Looks good at the local Rally's and even goes pretty fast in the roll ons on the freeway, but take it to Mid-O and ride it well takes a steady and experienced hand... Most the time, smaller liter bikes go around quicker and the reason isn't because they have more hp...
  19. There's a few issues here - bent bolts can cause the threads to get pulled out or ruined. The frame mount won't be an issue. It's the engine mount area. The frame mount simply allows the bolt to pass through where it ATTACHES to the motor. I've seen numerous cheap sliders pull threads completely out of where they attach to teh motor. Heli-coils work, but again, you need to tilt the motor down and out a bit to fix. Plus, they can sometimes get to a point where it needs filled, drilled out and tapped.... BAD... Don't be afraid of no cut sliders. Some may be different like say the CBR vs. the GSXRs. The GSXRs are designed for racing and therefore, the mount points are slightly ahead of the bodywork. No cut sliders allow you to offset the slider to avoid cutting that expensive street plastic. On a race bike, we don't care. The issue with no cuts are the brackets. They tend to break and or bend bolts and usually pull bolts out. They act as a lever of sorts. Personally, I think they are shit, too. I'm just trying to point out that they aren't 100% junk or going to cause major issues. I've seen LSLs bend bolts and pull threads too. Like stated, no two crashes are the same...
