  1. Coffee Shop Visits - Don't crink coffee. Incandescent Light Bulbs - I use the twisties. Love em. Disposable Water Bottles - Who gives a shit? I am not gonna be a tree hugger and go to the fountain and fill my aluminum water bottle when I am thirsty. I travel a shit ton and I buy bottled water 5 plus times a day. I then throw them in a trash can. Eat me. Baggage Fees - Southwest. I have enough miles to get a few free round trips. Love em. Subscriptions You Don't Use - This is stupid. Who gets a subscription they aren't going to use? If I am dumb enough to buy a subscription to a mag I am not gonna read, I need to not worry about saving money and worry about why I am an idiot. Baby Food - We've been off the stuff for several months, but this too is stupid. Baby food is a needed item if you have a baby. If you don't have a baby, why would it be on the list? I gotta craving for blended meat? Really... Credit Score Fees - I know that I pay my bills early and usually, we pay everything off super early. I don't need to pay a doucher to find out I am holding a high credit score. Again, if you're an idiot and don't know whether or not you pay your bills early or on time, that you are over extended or sitting well, etc., you're a dumb ass. Cable - One word. Broadband. We HAVE to run Dish and MiFi for being out in the country. I swear to 8lb, 6 oz baby Jesus that if the fucking signal gets dropped in a mild rain or heavy snow again, I am gonna stab my tonsils out from the outside with a pencil. Landline Phones - I need it for the fax machine. I ain't paying for internet faxing. I pay $12 and get a useless line that I use about as often as the sun shines in our state. I hate that I do and because I need it for work, guess who pays for it? Not I! Cleaning Supplies - WTF? You gotta clean the toilets. You gotta clean the counter tops. You gotta clean carpet stains. If you don't, you're a slob and a dirt ball with apparently no kids... I know, I should take that money and pay a maid. Baller. Or, let it all stack up and get shit, filthy and live like a caveman or use the environmental friendly stuff that takes 5 times as much effort to clean because the tree huggers demand clean air. F' em. ATM Fees - I agree. I don't carry cash and use a card for everything. Well, except PA toll booths. "Cash only!" Bullshit. Home Repairs You Can Do Yourself - By all means! But, here again, many people SHOULDN'T do as Home Depot says and do it themselves. I've looked at more than enough houses where ol' boy saw DIY Network and figured it was easy enough for him to do it. Ever seen the shows like "Reinvation Horrors"? Nuff said...
  2. Zippers and such are going to harm anything short of Line-X. Gloss tanks and zippers do not do well, either. Matte black if done correctly is as resistant to whatever it's gloss paint brothers are. The new BMW M3s are offered in matte black and while takes a bit of different maintaining, isn't really an issue.
  3. Hidden issues such as the built bike had never been maintained and until you crack cases, you have no idea of such things as chipped teeth on the tranny gears for example. Or, guy says it was an ex-AMA bike and while it was, it has a stock motor in it and you have no idea until you take it in to get a refresh... Things like that. There are PLENTY of hidden issues and thus, the reason it is so important to buy from a credible source or know the bike's history. There's enough sources to go with that you can pretty much find out anything about any legit track bike... I like one owner/team bikes. I'm too old anymore to do a full build. Although, every damn bike I have bought done up, I've pulled the motors, gone through the chassis and did everything to make sure it was ready for battle. Of course, that is habit, but at the end of the day, I still tear them down...
  4. For any of you guys wanting it, I am thinking of doing more one on one stuff if asked. Meaning, I will watch at the track in certain places around the facility and take notes of what you are doing and then obviously help on track. I'm not a coach, but am willing to help anyone as much as I can. I have a bunch of washed up experience and am willing to share it with anyone if you'd like. Plus, I am a cheap date - FREE!! I just want to spend more time working with guys that want help in a manner that is more personal and more likely to produce results. If you are humble, realize that there are going to be barriers and a willingness to try new things and make changes, I am hoping to help. Hell, I am going to learn as well! Anyways, sitting at the airport and thought that there are enough guys on here wanting to do track days and even race that if I can help, all you gotta do is ask. Wait... Isn't that a commercial for a motorcycle dealer?
  5. They are pretty cool. I like a few of the Victory bikes. However, they aren't setting the world on fire as far as sales go, but I do like what they are doing. I have ridden a few of the cooler cruisers and have enjoyed the way they ride. In fact, I was surprised at how well they rode - handling and power delivery.
  6. I will totally disagree on this comment. PLENTY of great used track day or race bikes out there. More than enough well known builders and racers selling good stuff. I've bought Vesrah bikes with next to zero issue and have never thought otherwise. Again, for the amount you'd spend if building from street to track, you can buy a great used unit and have more than enough to cover any issues or have enough for what really matters. TIRES!!

  9. Dude, you were nice and smooth. Not Keith smooth as we all know nobody is that smooth, but pretty damn close. The more you get seat time, the faster you will get. I am around to help if you need anything. I can go to a Mid-O event and help out as much as possible with you if ya want. I try and ride there a good number of times a year to keep in practice as everything else is so far away... But, let me know...
  10. When we've been to a few Steelers games, those cams are really pretty damn cool. However, they are always behind the players and if it would fall, shouldn't be anywhere near them. Like Max stated, someone lost their job.

  14. Papa and I are good. I actually didn't get the joke and was sympathizing with him as I have unfortunately lost friends very dear to me at the track. I have seen some pretty awful results of street crashes also... But, all I wanna say and am done (unless we all wanna take this to goofyville which is actually what I was trying to do with Andy's pic post and Twisted wife comment) is that the idea that track guys are superior is bullshit. Here's the drill... What I think gets lost on a few core street guys that actually never take a trip to the track is that we are saying you can learn more about the bike, expand your ability and excell faster. Of course, that can come with a price. What Speedy isn't catching is that it isn't about who crashes the most and who is a squid and who just wants to ride and enjoy the sport or the hobby... It's about learning. That's all. Again, the baseball thing... The fact is that the street is WAAAAY more dangerous for all the reasons and more listed. Deer, cars, SUVs with people texting, gravel, assholes, semi trucks, etc... Tracks are by far a more safe and controlled environment and YESSSSS!!! We see PLENTY of tools that come out and think they are MotoGP gods and push too fast and too hard. When a guy crashes and splits a frame on an R1 in NOVICE group, he's not doing it right. But, there are several success stories of guys that I know personally and am one of that have used the track to better themselves as a street rider. Yes, Speedy, it isn't about going Mach 1 and it is very much about enjoying and getting away from the real world at times. BUT, as a racer and an avid track day guy that doesn't ride the street regularly (But probably puts a few thousand miles on each year due to events and group rides) anymore, I can sit back, ride and enjoy. Racing and track days has helped me to be a better rider outside being able to handle a lot of curves, handle the speed, etc. I have had the honor of riding some epic roads that I have never seen before and the ability that I have gained at this stage has allowed me to enjoy those rides and handle the unexpected easier than had I not been a racer or track day. Personal experience is all I am going off. Is there going to be an asshole that does track days and goes out on the street and blazes around and showboats and rides like a retard? Sure. Those same guys are the ones getting their liter bike riding asses handed to them by guys on EX500s while at the track. To them, they track day to boast how great they are, how fast they can ride and the ever famous "My buddy clocked me at near Pole Position for the last AMA Superbike race here"... Point is that motorcycles are awesome and we are all part of a unique club. We are all brothers and I will never turn away anyone that wants to learn more. Again, if you think you know more than someone else, remember one thing... There is ALWAYS someone better... Everyone, be safe, have a great New Year and pray for a short winter so we can get back out and ride! Now, back to the Andy photos...
  15. Well stated responses RVT!!! And to add, it has nothing to do with the differences in riders' abilities at the track or on the street. I appreciate the kind words, but we are all in the same sport and enthusiasts in the same hobby. We are all capable of learning and capable of getting better. Even the MotoGP God, Rossi learns as he goes through every season. If he is, we are and we are all in it together. Sure, there may be faster riders than others, slower than others as well. BUT, the fact is that we all can learn and we ALL can get better. It's how we get better and what we take from it and how we apply it... Everyday, every lap, every mistake, every crash. Every time, I learn, I grow or I push myself to learn and experience...
  16. The guys that are under this set if thoughts are not very good track riders then in my opinion... There is a shit load of traffic and all at a pace that surpasses what you'll find on the street. The amount of time you have to make proper decisions, the amount of smoothness you are in need of to get through traffic on the track, etc is very much something that is so much faster than that found on the street that when you go from track to street, it is all in slow motion... Clean tracks and no blind hills, eh? You obviously haven't met guys that have ridden road courses. Mid-Ohio has numerous blind turns. Nelson is by far not a "clean track" and the flattest track we ever see is probably Putnam and honestly, there are a few turns that you'll never really catch in the street world at the speeds they are hit at that facility. Again, I don't mind healthy and productive debates, but so far, what you have told us about your friends, they are probably at the very bottom in terms of track day riders we are referring to... No offense as I am sure your friends are great guys, but from what you are saying, they are a VERY small % of the real world results from a majority of track day riders...
  17. Not sure who you've been around that has done track days and feels like they And ride like that on the street. I would guess you haven't taken a track day to understand. The reality is that you will LEARN more not only about yourself, but your bike as well. You would be an absolute moron to think you can ride like that on the street. The idea is to learn what you CANNOT learn on the street. Now, I believe there is a lot to learn on the street as well, but there is no way you can ride like you can on the track on the street.
  18. Actually, Mid-Ohio does have some KTMs they use for rental use. However, it is easily a way to get the bike you own to the track as they make it VERY user friendly to make it out and try the track days whether through STT, Mid-Ohio, Moto Series, etc. All have a novice program and it is VERY unintimidating to go through. I suggest a novice program to anyone that has never been on the track. Even numerous years of aggressive street riding as again, there are a LOT of bad habits that are developed as street riders and going through the novice program is something that will help a lot rather than thrown to the wolves in the "I" group...
  19. I disagree. I think it causes you to be more aware and obviously a bit more alert and possibly paranoid at times. But, that reserve I talk about gets higher and higher the more you grow and learn as a rider...
