Yeah, but the caps I liked on mine were the same height as the cab and that wasn't capable to haul any MX bikes and sport bikes. I know everyone is into trucks and I've always owned one. The benefit to the van is that I can haul 2-3 bikes easily and they are not exposed to the elements. I hauled a Berg from one dealer to another and it looked like a salt block once I arrived. Again, to haul them in a truck, I have to get the farmer raised rear cap and that looks terrible and less sleek than the same level sized caps... With them, we can get MX bikes in, but we need to roll the bars down and that sucks... Plus, this thing can haul the trailer easily as well and we max out capacity to haul bikes and riders.

So, sold the dually and decided to go the route of 1 ton vans and having a few mods done to it to make it somewhat cool. I picked up a van that was literally used by a church. It looks very church-like or something you'd ride in from the airport to a hotel. Overall, is in excellent condition and should be a great platform. Ford E-350 with a V10. Avoided the 6.0 diesel as it just has too many bad checks against it or needs a shit pile of work to make dependable. The V10s are a great choice for the torque and heavy duty tranny in them. I really wanted a 7.3, but those are unicorns and if you find them, they are clapped out or have too many miles for the money they want for them... Here she is in her currently church-like state... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Here are some options I am leaning towards... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us The first one has a 6" lift and the second one a 4" lift. The thoughts are two fold. The first is to have U-Joint Off Road do a 4x4 conversion. It's pretty pricey and you need to source some tough to find components. Dana 50 or Dana 60 front, transfer case, etc... 4x4 would be really cool... The second and most likely idea is a pre-runner build where it is lifted by a company out west named Action Van. They do some really sick stuff and make them look essentially the same as the two pics I posted... Probably put a spare on the back like the FJ and a roof rack, etc also.

I have and all the reply all email responses. I am thinking about it pretty hard. I might have to race the GNCC National in FL and would like to ride the RS to break it in at Jennings. So, we will see. I'd probably most likely be in for Mon and Tues... -

What motor do you have? -
If I were to give a negative, lastyear's bag had the end compartment for things like boots or a helmet. This year's bag doesn't offer that and it kind sucks. I liked putting my smelly boots in the end compartment. Trivial and stupid, but hey, it all can't be roses and bunnies right?
-
Well, I have 2 of the 9800 bags and we've traveled so many times where the bags have been slammed around and beaten to death by airport folks. Every damn time, the bag takes it like it was nothing. Never had a failure at all in any of the components and none of the fabric or stitching has failed. Ever. I use them for my MX gear and mostly my road race stuff and it is constantly being used. Thing is stupid bad ass and worth every damn cent. Buy one!!!

Do share, though. Like I said, you're the only one outside fuel mileage. I'd really like to know if there is some issues that people aren't telling me about. I'd LOOOOOVE to find a 7.3. It's just damn near impossible, man. But, I will keep looking. I just found a V10 with 100k for $4500!! It's a passenger without rear seats and the dealer can't sell it. I want to remove the seats anyways!! So, if it is what I want, I probably will get that. The plan is to lift it, exhaust, tint, bigger wheels and tires and probably go front brush guard and roof rack with aux lights, etc. Think pre-runner... -
SIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!! That's really cool. We will push to get folks at the outside events to make it worth while. I think Moto Series is the new WERA NC region to be honest! Absolutely AWESOME!!

Fuel consumption isn't an issue for me. I don't care, really as the dually was getting 13-15 highway... V10s are getting about the same highway due to having a better gear ratio. The dually had 4.10s in it... As for dependability, you are about the only guy I have ever heard say anything bad. I've heard a LOT of bad about the 6.0 diesel and thus, why I am not looking at one. I would buy another 7.3 if I could find one that isn't miled out and rusted to hell and back... -

I got it in the back of my mind, but am probably going V10 or diesel. My buddy has some stuff for me that will only be for an E-series van so, it'll be one, but I haven't given up on your van. It's super clean and you apparently take good care of it. I'll keep ya posted as I am looking at a V10 this week... -
Understood. I see the torque and HP are the same as the older diesel engines and you are right. I guess I don't pay much attention to gas motors... Pretty impressed. You might want to check out Hill Equipment Trailer Sales in Marengo, OH. Just north of Delware off I71. I was looking at trailers in GA and by the time I spent the money on fuel and the long day of travel, I think Hill was a couple of hundred or the same price once I factored in fuel cost and blowing an entire day (not just an afternoon)... I ended up getting a bigger trailer than I was planning and actually only spent $200 more than the original smaller trailer from GA... Weigh it out and also consider that when you get back, you'll have put on 2,000 miles possibly depending where you go and that's about time for an oil change...

20' with an F150 is going to be somewhat tough on her if you do living quarters and enough bikes to fill it. Not impossible, but not ideal. I have a 17' trailer and love it. I could have set it up to have living quarters, but went with benches and cabinets and feel that was a better path for me. I do hotels when overnight...

I'm game!! Right now, we have the farmer took the corn down and I am going to ask if we can ride in the field. I want to take the box cutter and drag a track out. Something TT like for big bikes!

Coming along. A lot of over growth I had to work on before winter. We are pretty done with living room walls and trim. Shooting for formal dining room next and then the kitchen. My goal is downstairs is complete by spring and then exterior painting...

Actually, when Theo is doing his segment from 10-3, he is running some seriously good harder stuff. It is full of some seriously cheesy rock stuff, but it is really one of the better radio stations that are around. I am in a lot of cities and listening to the radio and the Blitz is above average... As for playing just music, I understand the idea. But, the morning commute is good to listen to comedy. That's why Stern was so good. I prefer the stuff like Stern, Rover, Lex and Terry, etc to solid music. It isn't "talk radio". Talk radio is like NPR, etc. Or, listening to 610 or 700... The Blitz also adds in music through the talk portion unlike most others are doing. That's kind of cool. Bottom line, though is Blazer is a doucher, roided out guy that chuckles at everything like Boob and Tit do... He needs outta there for sure.
-
Those guys suck. Well, at least Blazer does. The guy is worthless... Theo is way funnier. Mo is OK, but they really need something like Lex and Terry or something funnier that is better to listen to in the mornings. They blow... At least get rid of Blazer and bring Mo back and add in Theo for Blazer. Dude's a trip!

I am traveling for work Tuesday through Thursday. I will be driving to Erie PA with the truck and down to Pittsburg and central PA. Then on my way back through CBus. So, through mansfield up through NE Ohio to Erie and then from the OH/WV boarder on I70 to CBus and back up towards Mansfield. If you are along those routes, we can hook up. Can't promise it'll be super clean, but we can run it through a wash if need be... Or, I will be around all next weekend. All tentative as I may trade on a cargo van if I like the one I found in PA... It'll get maybe 600 miles on it this week... -
OK, I am just going to put it up for sale and then take the money to get a cargo van. The specs are below, but it is a 1999.5 F350 XLT Ford. Yes, there was a big difference between the 99 and 99.5. 99.5s really are considered 2000 models as they are the same, but the title states 99... Specs: -7.3 Powerstroke. Best diesel to date for Ford! -172k miles -4x4 -8' bed -Custom paint by TAOD Designs. These are NOT decals. This is 100% paint. Not a square inch has not been painted. From the pearl white to the graphics. -Tow package -Off Road package -Crew Cab (4 doors) -Auto -5" exhaust turbo back exhaust -Upgraded turbo with a larger turbo and high performance impeller. -Silicone hoses on intercooler system -3 position performance chip installed by Purrformance Diesel. Custom mapping and IS NOT A PROGRAMMER! Programmers are not the best choice and do not deliver the most efficient power. Settings are 40hp, 80hp, and 150hp. -Gauge pod on A-Pillar -Cloth interior -KMC Rockstar matte black wheels with BF Goodrich tires. Tires need replaced. They are OK, but need replaced. -Updated tow mirrors that slide in and out from 2004 F350. -Updated headlights with clear lenses and clear turns from 2004 F350. -New Carrier Bearing, U-Joints were inspected and given an A+ at time of carrier bearing replacement. -Crankcase breather mod. Does make the truck smell a bit as the hose is ran down under the cab. However, if it were ran all the way back along the chassis, it can get clogged with ice or snow and cause issues. -New fuel lines in engine bay area. -New brake lines running under chassis. Basically, this has been a great truck. I'm just wanting a cargo van as we do a lot of off road events and hauling in an open bed kinda sucks and when overnight, I would like it to be in a van vs open bed. Outside those things, it is an amazing truck and I like it a lot and hate to sell. Power is strong and the truck has had little use really since 99. Add it up and it has had less than 14k a year put on it. My last F250 diesel had WAY more miles and is still running around today. This is the 7.3 Powerstroke and not the sketchy and undependable 6.0 or the fuel guzzling 6.4. Most Ford guys look for a 7.3 vs the others and these are holding value due to that. There are typical things that are going on with the truck that are considered "cons", I guess... Light rusting under the inside base of the front doors. This is typical of these trucks. Not terrible... There is also a fair amount of rust under the inside trim under the tailgate. Again, typical and usual. The truck does have a few stains in the fabric inside. Racing, kids, etc. Typical stuff. No holes, no rips, not serious stains at all. Small scratches and dings. The truck is over 12 years old so, you have to assume it has a few dings here and there... I am asking $11k. I usually (if I find a good deal) just do it all online. Newegg, Amazon, etc have as good if not better deals. Wake up early in the PJs, go to the computer and place an order and crawl back in bed. No waiting in line, no dealing with douchers, etc.

Jeff- I will probably take it. I just am heading to vegas today and won't be back until Monday. I will let you know 100% before I fly out. Just need to check a few things. You only have one?

Plus cash and maybe. Your 09 and my 09 are totally different machines and I doubt you'd say they were equal and a fair even up trade...

I just like the fact that the perception is that to go faster, people need a liter bike. The reality is that the current generation 600s are running similar if not FASTER lap times than a lot of the liter bikes. The fact is that it takes a LOT of effort to race these at speed. I've raced 600s for years. Loved them. 750s were the ticket in the early 2000-2003 era and was so happy with 750s and up until after 2005, the 1000s just weren't the best choices. Now, they are smaller, lighter, and of course, more powerful. It just is very satisfying to ride these things and understand that when people see your lap times and think they will instantly go faster - you hand them the bike and say "take it for some hot laps". The result is typically "How the fuck do you ride that thing?". They aren't for everyone, but I am 195lbs, 6'1" and not very well designed for a 600. However, I may get a 600 since it doesn't conflict in terms of classes with the RC8R...
