  1. I'm gonna go along with aaron on this one. personally I could wear my sidi boots all day long, and the break-in doesn't take long for a good feeling. I do suggest going past the ankle support and get some shin coverage. you don't want a peg bashing your shins as you wreck. Those boots have been through a few crashes and I've always walked away without a scratch. As for those sidi street boots, nice features, last long, typically a great fit, but I don't agree with just ankle coverage. may as well wear basketball shoes for that. One last thing, when I say shin protection, I don't mean FM boots.
  2. sorry guys. the roads aren't nearly as nice down here, but I'm going to spend some time on the track. In the mean time, I need to nail my interview with NAVAIR for all my plans to work out. It's coming up in a few weeks. wish me luck guys. I'll keep in touch.
  3. damn, all these cincy people are popping up this past month. now I'm stuck in florida. welcome to the board
  4. true that, now is the time to buy the corsair. The difference between the two is insignificant for the cost increase. I see fine with the current window. 3 extra vertical mm isn't that helpful. If you can find the one you want from '08 or older go for that.
  5. yeah, maryland won't be as cool but I'll be able to bring more excitement to it.
  6. I sure will be. There's a track in WV I'll be going to. I'll be back in town for a few days in june so I'll have to catch up with you guys then. For now, anybody who wants a place to chill in florida for a few days, let me know. My house is right on the beach in saint augustine.
  7. I've taken the bike out that way once and the country roads are great. Pax river maryland doesn't have anything for good riding but I don't mind a little distance to get quality roads. I've already met a big community right in Pax river who ride regularly so the transition should be easy.
  8. I keep 2 pairs. A* GP pro glove and the SMX for the commute. The GP pro's are too expensive to replace all the time so I save them for the joy ride and track..... when I get to go back.
  9. She's actually already down there working on a project until june. at the end of the month we are driving back up to maryland to pick her bike up. I'll be in florida until june then moving to maryland to work for NAVAIR. connections are great.
  10. ok, surprise! I'm moving just south of jacksonville next week. Anybody who's going to daytona, hit me up. I'll be an hour away. Elliot, I know you love that area, you best be visiting.
  11. Trek Y11 in the back. That's becoming a collector's item. Always did like those bikes. Oh yeah, sweet motorcycles. My head is in the wrong place.
  12. ok guys. I'm moving to florida about mid next week and I wanted to catch everybody this weekend before I go. I was thinking about the BW3 on union center on friday around 8 or so. I hope to see you cincy guys there.
  13. I'll be down there for sure this year. If you're going again, rocky, I'll catch you and the crew in daytona.
  14. There's a bicycle route I take that goes right over that bridge. It's not too far from rt. 50. I wish there was better motorcycle riding out that way though.
  15. that looks like the covered bridge in batavia. welcome to the site.
  16. welcome back dude. I keep getting picture messages from you but my phone won't accept them. It's a shame to be the wrong season for a good ride. How's the off season treating you?
  17. well hell, another cincinnati guy. When did people start popping out of the woodwork? Welcome to the site. There's a good handful of us in the nasty nati.
  18. children! stop . It's embarrassing.
  19. ha ha, sure did. It's a sad story. As for the carbon, haven't done shit to it. Just a little short changed right now. Once I get that project moving I'll keep you posted.
  20. Oh the memories of columbus. Hope you're keeping that thing in one piece. Next I'll be hearing you dropped it cuz you forgot to put the kickstand all the way down.
  21. Are you talkin about VanHorn, Micah? I used to work with that kid. I built his wheels for nationals. Too bad the racer next to him got his pedals mixed up with the spokes. Poor bike. As for the STP, I can't make any promises but I'll throw the idea her direction.
  22. before you check for sticky throttle cables, see if the grip is rubbing against the handlebar weight. That will produce enough friction to cause sticky throttle. If it is touching, roll the grip back away from the weight just a bit and check the throttle then. if there is still a problem, then check for throttle cables (much more work).
  23. Brennan, you need to keep the rubber side down to ride that thing. If you come out in the spring, I'll teach you how NOT to crash.
  24. craigslist and ebay are popular places for people to find bicycles and components. They are much easier to ship than motorcycle parts, to people look on a national scale for finds like this. I've had great luck with sales on ebay in the past. If it doesn't have the disc tabs on the rear stays, there is an adaptor available to convert the bike to full disc. There are still several people out there who would prefer to use ceramic rims because they have very similar braking power in all condition and they can build the bikes under 20 pounds. I know the fox fork can accomidate a disc brake. If it wasn't for the carbon stays, you could send the frame to a welder and have one put on. The other option is to sell the bike on consinement at your local bike shop. I know that bike would fit my girlfriend perfectly and she's getting more into riding. She just bought a new road bike over the summer, maybe I can persuade her into picking up a mountain bike too for the trails in maryland.
  25. additional generic greeting. I'm out in milford, right next to bike night. I'm sure I'll see you out when the weather improves.
