yeah, I'm not taking it that far unless I planed on swapping my engine, swingarm and steering bearings. Just the routine maintenance: valves, clutch and suspension (new oil, springs, and possibly seals). For putting 27,000 miles on the bike in less than 2 years, it's due for some TLC.

OK, it's official. I finally started tearing my bike down for the winter. I'm down through the air box and it's about time to check those valves. Does anybody want a walk through of the valve check / possible adjustment before I go through with this? I can post photos if anybody wants them. I hope to do it this weekend at the earliest.

no doubt, I'm out with the guys every weekend for 10/22 and on the west side during the week. I haven't put my bike up for the winter yet, but I need to start taking it apart soon. I need to finish the service for it before the weather warms up again.

Come on rick, you know we're out here and several of us not too far from your part of town. As for some of these people on the forum, people develop a lot of mistaken perceptions online and later realize the person they just flamed isn't all that bad. It's happened to a lot of people on here. I know myself and the guys I ride with are trying to expand the cincy area too and we network with the other groups so we'd be game to roll with you in the spring. People really need to just lighten up on this forum. All this flaming makes it hard to find the good threads here.

it also helps me remove the tank without spilling gas. I'm gonna refill it after I check the valves and put it back together. gas won't spill out of the main line, but it spills from the lines to equalize the tank's pressure when displacing fuel. I've spilled a bit in the past from it sloshing around.

I saw a lot of riders out today, but I spent more time on the bicycles. 40 miles on the pedals and another hour with the motor. I think I'm gonna run the tank empty today so I can remove it and start stripping her down.

The bluetooth units on those work surprisingly well. I have the GMRS-X1 bluetooth unit and the communication comes through clearly. The microphone needs to be placed to keep wind off, but that problem has been solved. The only downside of chatterbox systems is the headset. The speakers are not high quality and with the 6 pin mini din plug, it's difficult to look for a higher quality replacement, unless you make it yourself.

He's just making the point that he knows me. But still, damn it john. I know some fucked up riders down here, but they're not all that bad. I ride with a good crew and they know who they are. There's some tools down here just like Mr. Taco Bell up there. Everybody knows who I'm talking about.
