  1. If I was him I would have to say....... STFU Gear nazzi's !

Yea, It's wise to wear a helmet, I usualy do, easy enough ! Leave it at that !

Now if he didn't have a lid on he's giving the site a bad name ! Come on ?

I fucking hate it when people do this shit !!

If your that concerned maybee you should check his tire preasure for him too.

Shit if you ride at all ,you are a fool not to have short and long term dissabilty insurance, should we sell him that too ??

In all honesty, I would probably react similarly. I didn't say it gives OR.net a bad name, I said it doesn't put or in the best light. Now, that may be splitting hairs, but I think there is a distinct, albeit small difference. Now, your other examples are a bit of a straw man, so I won't try to refute those. It turns out that he was wearing his helmet today; good on him.

  2. Thoughts on - Is it OK to not wear a helmet if you're going 1-2 miles?

Like, for instance, if your going 1-2 miles to the haircut place. And you don't want a bunch of haircut clippings inside your lid.

I would wear a hat of some sort under my helmet to create a "hair barrier" then promptly wash the hair clippings out of the "hair barrier". =)

  3. Today was the second day in a row I've seen people on bikes with shorts, shirt, sandals, and no helmet/hat/eyewear at all. How the hell do these douchebags not get pulled over? No helmet is legal, but you HAVE to have something over your eyes. I don't think I could physically ride without sunglasses at the minimum...dust is downright blinding at 25 mph or higher.

Wear a MFing helmet people. It's not that hard to put it on and take it off, and it'll save your life.

Yes, the strange thing was that he took the time to put on his red and white textile/leather jacket. I don't expect the person to come out and admit who it was, but it doesn't put OR.net in the best light (IMHO). I think most people who post regularly here seem like responsible riders, at least when it comes to gear. Perhaps I'm reading too much into one incident as well. =)

  4. It is totally fine for you to bring whomever you want. It is OR based, but open to all.

I just called the ice rink, was told that they have to drop the Friday late times because they have to cut back on payroll. So, the next open time is a Saturday afternoon on May 9th or 5:15 on May 16th. Oh well.... If any of those times work for you all, let me know.

    -P

  5. So would it be cool if I brought some people from my beginner league intramural hockey team? They're all fairly decent, nobody that is god-awful. People were talking about finding a stick and puck session somewhere and practicing so I thought maybe the OR hockey outing would be a decent chance to get some ice time. I understand if we wanna keep this a majority OR event so it's no big deal if nobody wants 5+ people that nobody here knows.

Also, how much is the ice again? 140 or 150 or something?

It is totally fine for you to bring whomever you want. It is OR based, but open to all.

  6. whats up every1 i'm from bg and ride a cbr f4 i met couple of you from mid ohio last year so i figured i come on here and check it out

Welcome! If I order some Spot's and Pollyeye's can you send them to me?

  7. "Hell's Satans" gotta love the Simpson's reference!

For a non-outlaw biker related book, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance isn't half bad. I'm still working through it, but it's enjoyable.

I read that in high school, it is a good book, the plot jumps all over the place so you are perpetually in a fog until the end; not as bad as Catch 22 though. Some of the philosophical context is funny.

  8. I got a quote from Progressive, full coverage on a 2002 CBR 600 F4i for about $500 a year. That is with a multi bike discount though. Progressive is good. You should check them out. If you are under 25, insurance is going to be higher on everything. I am an old fogie...almost 28 geeze

Is 28 old now? I may as well arrange for the convalescent care already. =/

  9. You should of seen the A/F on the first pull. The air/fuel dipped into the 10's with the stock tune. I managed to get it close to 13.0 at WOT. I did a complete custom map for the owner. Took close to two hours. He came back all smiles saying he could not believe how much more responsive the bike was.

He is a member of Ohio Riders. I will wait for him to chime in. :)

You should consider DTM for all your power commander tuning needs. I have a number of customers who are happy. No need spending $250.00 to $350.00 for a custom tune when you can get a complete map for $150.00

    :cheers::metal:

Thanks again Brian for the outstanding work on the map. It feels like a totally different machine. I couldn't get too much on top of it, since it was raining pretty heavily as I left (not to mention the thread-bare rear tire). Just to reiterate, if you want your bike tuned while you listen to talk about strippers and Las Vegas, you should give Dynotune your business. Superb work for superb value!

  10. So i normally get about 49 to 50 MPG on my 2004 R6, but this season i've not gotten above 44 and I really dont think my riding style or habits have changed. Mostly commuting miles. All I've really done since last season was change the oil from Motul 5100 to AMSOIL (both 10w40) and used some SeaFoam in the old oil before the change. I also changed from a K&N to Mobil 1 oil filter. Should I really be seeing this big of a dive in MPG? I'll likely go back to the 5100 on my next oil change.

This may be a stupid suggestion, but have you checked your tire pressure? I don't think it would make that much of a difference, but you never know.
