  1. There's nothing for the Amazon Fire Stick or Kodi... So, I'd have to connect my laptop to my tv. Or buy a Roku for that tv, right?
  2. For testing purposes, I rigged a short post for the antenna and zip tied it to my directv dish post. I don't want to remove the dish until i'm 100% certain i'm going this route. as of now, the antenna is about 15' in the air, about level with the peak of my roof line. I am getting approximately 40 channels. I get all the local channels, plus some Hispanic, hindu or something, and a bunch of other crap I'll never watch. Thursday night football last night was crystal clear. I think the picture was better than DirecTV. Once I decide to remove the dish, I'll get a taller post and mount it to the dish post, which will put the antenna approximately 10' higher than it is now, for a total of about 25' in the air. Between this and kodi on amazon fire stick, and Netflix, I should be all set... EXCEPT FOR BTN, which is really starting to piss me off. I NEED TO GET BTN!!
  3. On the roof in place of the DirecTV dish.
  4. Actually, after a lot more reading last night, multi-directional and Omni-directional not the same thing. Either way, I ended up ordering this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EPP5ZSS/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I won't be able to install it until this weekend, but I'll update once it's done.
  5. Entered my addy and here are the results: A Small Multidirectional Antenna is recommended to receive this station. Look for the CTA-certified Yellow mark on the antenna's box. So, I need an Omni-directional then, correct?
  6. I've been doing research on the hd antennas. I didn't realize there were so many options. Directional, Omni-directional, powered, etc. So, what do you use, recommend, any suggestions on installation, etc? I am in Canal, but not in a housing development. I am surrounded by farm land. Ranch style house. A few tall trees, but not a forest. I was thinking about a long range Omni-directional, but read that those can pick up a lot of interference, which may result in a not so good picture. Since I currently have DirecTV, which I am working on cancelling, I was thinking I could use that post to mount the HD antenna on. Would that work? Do all of these antennas have to be plugged into power? How does that work? I don't have an outlet outside for one. I can't really find any info on the power piece. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. How much will you be selling your current mower for? Seriously interested, if the price is right.

    Is 1080 HD?

I don't have "fusion" in my list from these instructions. What now?

    Is 1080 HD?

I sent him an email telling him that 720 and 1080 are both most definitely HD. Here is his response: And again I'll disagree Sd 480 HD 720 Blueray 1080 Ultra HD 1080 4K 8k

    Is 1080 HD?

So, in my quest to cut the cord, I purchased a box to watch tv, movies, etc. What I'm finding is that all of the tv shows are 720 at best, and it's grainy as shit. The hdmi input on my tv is set to 1080, the box is set to 1080, gold plated hdmi cable, 30Mbps internet speed tested through the box. It's horrid trying to watch tv shows through this damn thing. So, I emailed their support asking them if I'm doing something wrong or streaming the wrong thing, etc. Here's his response.... "I don't think there are many tv shows is 1080. But 1080 is not HD. 720 is HD. " Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought 1080 is HD. Discuss, please.
  20. Everything I have read says the same thing: The most common cause of smelly water is anaerobic bacteria that exist in some water and react with the magnesium and aluminum sacrificial anodes that come with most water heaters to produce hydrogen sulfide gas, making the classic rotten egg odor. The problem is most common in well systems, either private or municipal.
  21. Finally decided to break down and get this one. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rheem-Performance-Platinum-50-Gal-Tall-12-Year-5500-5500-Watt-Elements-Electric-Water-Heater-with-LCD-Touch-Control-Display-XE50T12EC55U1/205810438 The LCD panel on the front was messed up. Some of the letters weren't legible. I called their support line and will have a new panel on Wednesday. Let's hope this is the only thing that goes wrong with it for a very long time.
  22. How is my post confusing? If there's no anode rod, then it won't need replaced or let the water get smelly.
  23. Here's one without the anode rod, with a lifetime warranty on the tank, 6 year parts. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rheem-Marathon-50-Gal-Lifetime-Warranty-Electric-Water-Heater-with-Durable-Design-MR50245/205466186 The annual cost is a bit higher than I'd like, but I'm sure it's a hell of a lot less than what I'm paying now and wouldn't have to deal with the stinky water.
  24. Thanks for the responses everyone. With the AEP rebate, I'll start looking more into the heat pump water heater. Please keep the recommendations coming...
