  1. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG Its done - the decision has been made. On saturday, I will be riding a '99 CBR600F4 - Its in good shape for a 99, a few dings here and there, chain is a bit loose...but it was like sex on wheels! I can't wait to get that baby!! w00t!!
  2. ^^ gotcha. Thanks! I am looking at 2 CBR's and right now the ZX-6 is the front runner. I've just always had a thing for the looks of the Nighthawk - I should probably just let it go and focus on one style lol
  3. yea, I do want a sportbike but I'm looking at everything. Why is horsepower not relevant? One reason I want a sportbike is for the responsiveness - isn't the horsepower directly relative to the responsiveness? Or should I be looking at torque??
  4. Anyone own one of these and have some input?? I'm looking at a 99 and I've always liked the standard style. Does it feel powerful? I mean, its a 750 but I think I read that its < 75 horsepower. Even the ZX-6 I'm looking at makes more than that!
  5. Thanks for the heads up bdruggan10r I'm gonna check out that F4 - at least its been inspected. Pretty good looking bike in the pics too.
  6. Ah - forgot about that one, have that one Friday night. I'm hopeful. I'm tempted to just buy the ZX-6 because its sooo clean and 4 years newer. I just checked the ad again for the F4 I'm supposed to look at tomorrow...has a rebuilt title - says that it was because there was a bolt broken off in the frame...?? Here's the ad: http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1129026206.html - what do you all think? I'm thinking about skipping it because of the rebuilt title. I also tried to email bdruggan10r about his buddies' SV650 even though they're light on the power. I'd still like to take a look but I didn't get a response today. Gonna try to email him again.
  7. I looked at 2 bikes tonight - a '97 GSXR-750 and a '99 Kawi ZX-6. You should have seen that GSXR-750 - looked good from a distance, up close was a total loss. The chain was so loose (and at the rear of the adjustment) that it was laying on the swing arm (less than 10K miles)! The chrome was coming off the thing all over the place, paint was scraped off the gas tank, gas damage all around the gas cap, a chain/wire rigged around the rear brake to actuate the rear brake light, LED turn signals on the rear, one side didn't have a cover, rigged up switch to turn the radiator fan on/off, the carbs wouldn't keep up with the throttle return when cutting the throttle...it was a mess, just terrible. It ran ok, - I sat on it and revved it up a couple times and it scared me to be sure...but I'd never buy it. Well, maybe for 2K so I'd have a grand left to try and fix it up, but it had many problems. The 600 ('99 ZX-6) was in a really good shape, some minor damage up around the front wheel fender, other than that it was in perfect shape. strong throttle, but definitely wanted to be warm. New tires front/back, everything stock. Really a fantastic bike and the clear winner tonight. CBR600 F4 tomorrow - but if that one doesn't fly I'm buying the ZX6.
  8. I actually like that crazy color scheme - I'm calling that guy
  9. I bet I could get it for ~3K.
  10. How about a '97 GSXR 750? less than 10K miles - 128HP from what I can find. What does SRAD mean?? http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1152598363.html
  11. I can't find the horsepower specs for the 6 - I found the 6R, but I'm sure this one will be significantly less. EDIT: ok, I found it - looks like 100hp. I can live with that this one might be on the short list. EDIT: ok, now I'm hearing its closer to ~85...lol! guess I just need to take a look at it.
  12. Got my eye on this: http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1125732919.html Going to check it out tomorrow. Probably get it for a pretty good price too.
  13. haha, Yea I have bought and sold a bunch of bikes. If its not right though, I just can't leave it alone. Life is too short. An FZR, ZX6, or CBR would be a great fit. There are several on CL in my price range so I need to look at a few and find out which one fits the best. Evening thinking about an SV - and there is one sweet Z1000 up there but a smidge out of my range. Oh well - I will have something that I'm looking for soon
  14. Well its a done deal! The Vulcan is gone - and my process of getting my next bike has begun! w00t!
  15. Absolutely - left yamaha off the list by accident. My buddy just bought an FZR 600 and he really likes it.
  16. haha, yea I can't do both - but I'm going to consider lots of different bikes: I'd love to find a Z1000 in the $4K range, but I'm thinking ZX6/7, GSXR 600, doubt I can afford a CBR but they're sweet, even some of the older wide body sport bikes from the late 90's. Should be around $4K by the end of the week - not going to rush it though. I'd rather get something I'll be into for a long time instead of just buying right away. Still, don't want to wait too long
  17. I was perfectly happy with my Vulcan....until bike night last week at Polaris! Curse all your hot freakin' sportbikes!! I'm selling my Vulcan tomorrow to buy a sportbike...all those nice ones last week reminded me of everything I liked about sportbikes - the power, responsiveness and nimble-ness! Thanks alot!

    Bike Night

yea, Its pretty crappy out - saw 2 bikes on Wilson heading southbound in some pretty heavy rain...probably not the best idea to be out on the bike tonight!

    Bike Night

I'm hoping for at least a break in the rain to head up there - just 10 minutes from my place.
  20. Good to meet you last night! I'm trying to get some of the guys I ride with to show up to grow the group but still I think we had a pretty good turnout. I love pulling into a meeting place and seeing all the bikes lined up - good to be around like minded people, even though the cruisers were way under-represented Made me want a sportbike again LOL!
  21. I just got back - pretty slow night. Actually first bike night I've ever been too. Got to meet a couple of you, but not many bikes at all. Still, better than sittin' around all night
