  1. I think its going to rain this morning, but tonight should be OK - I think we'll be good. Plus weather people say "chance of pop up showers" - well that means they think some could pop up that they won't see on the radar...hell, that could happen at any time LOL!
  2. no, my lock didn't work this morning! I have both keys, neither one worked. I couldn't get the lock off the bike. So I came home tonight and cut it off. Damn thing still won't unlock
  3. haha! It was actually a lot harder than I thought it'd be!
  4. I just registered - hocking hills scares me
  5. Congrats! Lots of riders never even bother to get licensed. Of course, when I got mine you HAD to take the test and it was stupid hard! I did mine in California in the early 90's...was not fun! Failed the first time through with another rider who also failed. Lady gave us 1 more try and we both did it LOL. Got lucky!
  6. He should post his resume up on Dice.com and monster.com. Also I will PM you contact info for a head-hunter I know that works in the technology business. Not sure if he does network stuff, but worth a try.
  7. You got that right - worked on the bike all weekend to get it straight, installed new front turn signals, replaced turn signal bulbs in the rear (had to remove the rear fairing to get to the rusted/stripped out screws LOL, then a trip to IP for new ones), took the slack out of the chain and cleaned/waxed the chain which was in pretty rough shape...I was ready this morning...I about blew a gasket haha!
  8. Actually this is another opportunity for the dremel to demonstrate that it is the best tool ever invented I bet I have it off in 5 minutes - and I'll get a freebie from Kryptonite because they said if I sent it in they'd replace it. Of course, I don't think I'll ever put one on again but they will at least have to replace it
  9. Well that was pretty much a wasted phone call. Said that the discs inside the lock must be out of alignment, take a small screwdriver and try to line them back up to get it unlock. Either that or cut it off and send it in for replacement. Something to try I guess...sucks!
  10. Glad your OK - you're doing it wrong! Keep the rubber side down! Seriously I'm glad you and your buddy are in one piece. Anyone that's crashed knows the feeling, especially being able to get back up and be thankful to be one piece and generally OK. Be safe!
  11. I did put some WD-40 on it, but it didn't seem to help. The thing has been working fine for the last few days - its almost like the spring mechanism either didn't set right or is broken. On the phone with kryptonite customer service at the moment - not sure there is anything they can do but I guess its worth a try.
  12. Being extra safe with my new bike I have been using a kryptonite disc lock even when its locked up in the garage. So this morning I got out, put my key in the lock, and it won't open. I try the 2nd key - again it doesn't open. The locking mechanism is supposed to pop out when you turn the key but its just plain not opening. I can't get the freakin' thing off my bike. I have 2 keys neither of which work, the lock has maybe been used 10 times in the last year and a half. I'm about to have a stroke I am so pissed! Has anyone ever deal w/ this? I suppose I could get a cutting wheel for my dremel and try cutting through the bottom of the "U". Not really sure what else to try. Any ideas?? Oh BTW - I will NEVER put another kryptonite product on my bike and I don't recommend anyone else does either!!
  13. I hope it doesn't rain - no rain means I'm in...I be at shell, just get some dinner at QS&L.
  14. cool - gotta hit the pony after work but I'll be there.
  15. I tried to find their events page - hooters.com events don't even list Ohio, and apparently there's a myspace page for that hooters but I'm a facebook guy. Anyone know?
  16. oh! LOL - thanks, should've checked your location huh?? What can I say, I rode kawi's for a long time (at least that's my excuse)
  17. Nah, I wasn't knockin' the WD-40, I've heard that lots of people use it to clean there chains The tension is what worries me - 5K miles? that's not the normal life for a chain.
  18. ^^ Thanks! I've done chain clean/adjustments before (had the ZX7 a couple years ago), but this chain is only 5k miles old and according to the adjustment chart, it'll be ready for replacement once I take some slack out. I thought the front sprocket being short a tooth might have something to do with that...?? Also interesting that you bring up the "use WD-40 on an o-ring chain" thing - that debate has caused quite a stir in the past! I've always used a tooth brush and kerosene to clean, then coated with a spray on chain wax. I'm more worried about the tension, and possibly having to replace it so soon.
  19. Yep - scored off of CL. Guy was really cool, owner since 2002. Threw in front/rear maintenance stands, scads of parts, a tank bag. Really a good sale. The bike needs front turn signals, rear brake pads and fronts soon. Chain needs some tension ( he dropped a tooth up front, but the chain is new 5K miles ago...not sure about it), and tires will need to be done next season. Overall a few scrapes but for a 10 year old bike, I am grinning from ear to ear!
  20. haha! First time I've strayed from Kawi since 2003! This is a nice ridin' bike though. I need to buy a new jacket tho - had to ride it home w/ my kawi jacket on LOL
