  1. ^^ We don't take kindly to your kind in here!
  2. Used to get breakfast at the Sunbury Grill then head up north with a couple of friends. Anyone have any good routes up that way? We used to head up 3 to Mount Vernon, but I can't remember any of the good roads up there.
  3. I'm in - I'll ride with any type of bike but the back of the pack is my place
  4. Hell No! Really? Yea, guys house was right down the road. In that short distance to BP I knew I'd get getting off 270 at Cemetary/Fishinger rather than roberts. The bike was really cold on the highway, but once I got into cithy traffic it warmed up nice. Thing is just plain solid and planted. Definitely got a good deal on it.
  5. Here she is! 2002 Vulcan 750 Very clean, 6208 miles, and only $3K Froze my butt off getting this from Dublin to 70/Wilson road last night! lol
  6. Well, I'm not bikeless anymore! And I got to ride tonight...damn near froze my nutz off but I made it! Pics tomorrow. Beautiful, clean bike.
  7. Yep! Is that where you unloaded your hurricane?
  8. I got $1700 for an '89 VTR 250 (~9K miles) in Sept '08. Just depends though - there is actually a "clique" for the VTR 250, so I found a forum site for that bike and a guy from cleveland came down to mansfield and we traded $$$/title in the parking lot of McD's I wouldn't have gotten that much from CL though - probably $1200-$1500 tops. 250's can be tough to get rid of, especially with a lot of them up there that are newer than yours. Price point will have to be the way you seperate your ride from the rest.
  9. Supposed to buy the bike tonight - 2002 Vulcan 750. Looks to be in great shape. Got the money and the insurance already lined up - will probably ride it home tonight whilst I freeze my bells off! lol!
  10. Damn dude - that sucks losing your job. How much is the "right" price??
  11. Figures...I'm pretty much locked in on another bike because I never got any response back from PM's to the OP. Boooo!!
  12. Good Lord - I didn't know her but get taken so young, and someone that touched a lot of people in a good way...man, I wish that I could understand God's reasoning. R.I.P.
  13. Shit they all look awesome but it'd be next year before I could drum up the additional cash for most of those sweet bikes!
  14. oh, to be done with carbuerators...how great would that be! lol - Not wanting a Ninja 500 - I've had 2 of those and I HATE working with the crappy fairings and headlight mounts on the fairing. Also not into anything light - haha, after spending last season on a 250 I learned a bit more about how much I don't like wind gusts on a light bike. Anyway there are some katana's in that range and some cruisers too - have an '02 Vulcan 750 that's really close to my price range that I'm gonna look at tonight. Some newer GS500's out there too - just have to sift through stuff while I look for the cadillac at the pinto price
  15. well, he won't go lower so I'm not going to check it out. I know he's been treating it as a project bike so he wants to get his money back - but I think its a bit too high for the bike.
  16. Yea, it looks like he had a custom seat cowl job done really re-working the rear end. Says that the rear pegs won't go back on because it was such an overhaul. I'm gonna see if he can go a bit lower. Of course, if anyone here has any recommendations in the ~3K price range let me know!
  17. ok - I'll have to consider knocking it down a bit. thx!
  18. Look pretty good, in my price range and pretty low miles. Going to check it out tonight. http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1030318242.html Any comments on an '01 650? Good/Bad?
  19. Even with a safety razor or a straight I typically have to make 3 passes: With the grain (WTX), across the grain (XTG), and against the grain (ATG). Difference is with a fusion, your running 5 blades across your face and mashing the blades into your face to try and cut the hair. For me this led to a lot of razor burn and some ingrown hairs. Even if you keep shaving with a disposable, just making the switch to using a good shave soap with a brush and good face prep will make a big difference. I have to shave every other day and using the double edge safety razor means only running 1 blade edge across your face and I only apply very light pressure to the razor. Far less razor burn and I lather up again between passes. Read up on it - for you I'd say the DE safety razor is the way to go. Finding a decent DE for < $20 is easy (ebay or either of the sites I mentioned in this thread). Just know that you'll have to undo some bad habits that disposables have permitted you to develop. You might look a little rough for a while you get the proper technique down. Once you do, you'll never shave with a disposable again.
  20. mens gillette fusion 8 pack, $25.99 http://www.razorsdirect.com/catalog/item/3035036/2564265.htm actually more expensive than kroger!
  21. I've used disposables for years. I had a fusion as my most recent disposable but got sick of paying $25 for 8 cartridges, having to go over the same areas many many times to get a close shave. Had a Fromm straight years ago and dropped it in the sink right on the blade. Well, once that happens you've really got to have a guy that knows how to hone the blade well fix it. I decided to trash it. So now I've come full circle again and I'm done with disposables. If you've ever shaved with a cheapie single blade disposable with a non-adjustable head you know how to shave with a safety razor and enough to learn on a straights. Its all about face prep and blade angle. Nothing like showering then stepping out and lathering up with some nice quality glycerine based shave soap and brush - then taking a true razor and popping the hair off. Its a lost art among men. My father, my grandfather, and my grandfather's father all shaved with straights and safety razors. Less skin irritation, fewer ingrown hairs, healthier skin and less waste make the safety razors and straights an excellent/fun option. Just like most things - anything worth doing doesn't come easily. Its a hobby - and its fun! checkout: http://www.badgerandblade.com for lots of info. Also I think they're going to bring a shave show here to columbus in May - should be pretty good! Also check: http://www.theshaveden.com both sites have classified sections with great deals and lots of info on how to get started.
  22. I don't think so - don't know the actual year of manufacture. I'll have to see if I can id the date but its so clean and the blade in such good shape I can't believe it'd be very old. I also shave with a '62 Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip double edge safety razor. Great shave and far more forgiving than a straight
  23. I love a good shave and I HATE disposables! Check out this bad-ass new straight I just got (Wester Bros. 5/8" Fraternity): Anyone out there go the extra mile to get that perfect, hardcore shave??
  24. ^^ LOL! That's no shit!
