  1. I'm going. Hell, I'm already there!
  2. Yeah, that's a bit ambitious. If you're a seasoned long distance rider, then it shouldn't be too bad, Still gonna suck though. Like 2Tall said; gonna need an oil change and some tires along the way. It'd be cheaper if you arrange the tire change at a cheap place and then send the tires ahead via Motorcycle Superstore. Looks for their preferred installers on the website if you don't know of a anyone that'll do the work. It';ll save ya $100 or so on a tire change.
  3. Excellent shots! Looks like your day was quite a bit nicer than mine. Headed top the Grand Canyon (again) and Bonneville in a couple of weeks. Hope to get back up Evans on a day like you had.
  4. I thought 120 miles was a quick trip! Sounded like fun though.
  5. Couldn't see shit at the top... Heading back out there on August 31 for two weeks. Hope to get back to the top on a clear day.
  6. Ran into some weather on the way up - a cloud hit the side of the hill at Alpine Lake... Fuggin; mountain goats all over the place...
  7. Did you make it to Mt. Evans? I was there 2 weeks ago and the road was open all the way to the top - it's been closed for over a year. Some pics....
  8. Video from 2011. I have yet to edit this year's vids....
  9. It's not as bad as it sounds. I just did pretty much the same ride 2 weeks ago. The guy from Ireland couldn't commit to that ride so looks like I'll get to do it again this month. Some pics from 2 weeks ago...
  10. I'll be staying in Dublin Friday night and may make it to the Pelotonia Moto Escort meeting on Thursday night - if it ends up being on Thursday. See if you can find someone else to come along - 4 is much better for hotel rooms than 3. Already made some hotel reservations - you could just crash on the floor / sleeper or get more rooms.
  11. Heading West II - September 1-15, 2013 Buddy from Ireland is coming over at the end of August and we've decided to take another jaunt west before the snow flies. Leaving Indy on September 1 and returning on September 15, 2013 Will be taking a southerly route out this time, staying in Joplin, MO and Amarillo, TX on the way to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Then on to the big hole in the ground that is the Grand Canyon (twice in one year - I'm gettin' old) then stays in Moab, Utah - Ouray, Colorado , Wendover, NV and Vail before heading back across Kansas or Nebraska. If ya wanna go for cheap, you're welcome to floor space or sleeper sofa space on most nights for about $10-20 per night. Or, you can be a baller and get your own room. Cheaper if 2 more of you wanna go and split a room. So there ya are - post up if ya need more info or wanna go.
  12. Sweet! I always wanted a heated seat.
  13. I thought you sat down to pee. It'll be a new experience for you to pee standing up like a man.
  14. Nope - vests are used for the next year as well. I bought my own though - dunno if Icon still sells them or have updated with a newer model.
  15. Last year's crew at the start in Columbus... My bike being used as a bicycle rack at a rest stop....
  16. It'll be worth the wait to hang back for you.
  17. I'm in for both days. I'm gonna kick you off of your fancy ghey boy pedal 'sickle if I see you.
  18. If ya part it - I'll take the rear wheel. PM me if you wanna let it go.
  19. I also have a passport and can travel pretty much anytime. Keep me posted about your plans.
  20. I'd be up for it - always looking for new places to go and I'm not new to long distance riding. Best part is that the wife works in the hotel industry and I generally get great room discounts ranging from free to $50 or so per night. Anyway.... Been to Key West many times and only once on a bike. Boring ass ride for the most part, but the town is kinda fun. Kinda like a college bar scene for old people <ggg>. Have done Death Valley on a bike as well but not much of Washington state and Maine really. Dipped into both states before, but not very far. The Minnesota trip would be an easy one, distance-wise. Black flies and mosquitoes will be an issue though. Still, I'm up for it. I'll be within 300 miles of Death Valley next week on my annual trip to Utah / Arizona. Would be a piece of cake to add in another day or two and do Vegas and Death Valley. Anything planned for later this summer? Could do the Minnesota thing before the end of the summer this year and get it done. Could hit Aerostich on the way, Mall of America, crap like that. Shouldn't take much more than 4-5 days round trip. edit: 940 miles from Indy to Warroad, MN with Minneapolis being about half way. Easy 4 day ride.
  21. I definitely care about my member. Always have. Not sure if anyone else cares about it though.
  22. Just a youngster then. I know loads of dudes that are 60 and still plenty fast on a sport bike.
